Plot Twists and Triumphs: 2024 Review

As promised, he is my breakdown of what I accomplished as an author in the past year. Well, not everything, of course. There is plenty of other work done with marketing, my estore, social media, producing accessibility packs for past publications, republishing some of my audiobooks and translations to a wider audience, etc. as well as interviews, appearances, and the When Words Collide Conference. I also added accounts for Patreon, Ream, and Substack (with Substack being the most active), Threads, and have continued to work on TikTok videos (unfortunately none of them have become the viral videos bringing in tens of thousands of dollars that some other authors have achieved. So follow my tiktoks. lol)
As I reflect on the past year, I’m filled with gratitude and excitement for the milestones I’ve reached as an author. As you can see below, it has been a busy year. Here’s a comprehensive look at everything I’ve published in 2024 and some of what is in the hopper now.
New Book Releases

I’m excited to share that 25 of my earlier works received a fresh new look! (<= Click that link to see cover comparisons.)

Of course I spent 2024 writing too. Here is a sneak peek into what’s coming next!

I will also be participating in a new multi-author thriller series and am currently working on my first book for that series:
An Abrupt Departure (133)
And a couple of as-yet-written Auntie Clem’s Bakery books.
I expect to be presenting and participating in panels for the 2025 When Words Collide conference as well. I am just filling out my application form now. Hope to see some of you there!
Thank you for joining me on this journey through my writing life over the past year! Your support means everything to me, and I can’t wait to share what’s next on my adventure as an author. Stay tuned!

New Year, New Covers: Discover Exciting New Covers

As we step into a brand new year, I have been reflecting on 2024 and what I have accomplished over the past twelve months. As well as all of the books which I have written and released, which will be the subject of next week’s blog post, one thing I have really enjoyed has been refreshing the covers of some of my back catalogue. With each design, I’ve aimed to capture the essence of each story while appealing to readers’ aesthetic senses. So, what better theme for this year’s New Year post than “New Year, New Covers”?
SHOP NOWTake a look at some of the stunning cover makeovers I’ve completed this year:
Making Her Mark – Kelli’s life is turned upside down when she discovers the secret that her mother has been hiding from her for years. Kelli thinks this is her one chance at happiness. But is it?

Intersexion, Searching for Self – Taylor is a teen teetering on the edge of a steep precipice. The last person you would expect to touch him is Roz, whose foremost identity is a Christian wife and mother. But her world is about to be shaken.

Those Who Believe – Nathan struggles with his wavering faith and reconciling his actions with what his devoted mother has taught him from the cradle. Could disobeying her ever be right?

Stand Alone – Even as she sees her life spinning further and further out of control, Justine can’t give up her sense of who she is—someone far different than the loving daughter Em expects her to be—to just fit in and be happy.

Cynthia Has a Secret – Carmina’s life was perfect, and then she’d lost everything. Her family, her home, almost everything that she knew. Alone on the streets, she can’t trust anyone, but she also can’t make it alone.

Medical Kidnap Files Series – Delve into the dark and sinister world of medical kidnap, where children are taken from their families due to their medical conditions, in this gripping and eye-opening series.

Between the Cracks Series – Join Ruby and her siblings in their fight for survival in the gripping Between the Cracks series, which follows six unforgettable characters as they face the abuse within the troubled Simpsons family. Experience heartbreak and courage on every page of this powerful series.

This year, the focus of my cover refreshes has primarily been on my young adult titles, but I also have some mystery and suspense novels lined up for their own makeovers in the coming year.
To celebrate these new covers and kick off your reading year right, I’m excited to offer you an exclusive deal! Stack up your favorites of the books shown above in my eStore and enjoy a 15% discount on the ebooks. For series where I’ve revamped the full series, you can snag 15% off the first book in the series.
Note that while all ebooks have been updated, some of the new print editions are not yet available. Make sure you’ve got the right cover before buying!
SHOP NOWAnd don’t forget—these titles are not just available on my eStore; you can find them at all major online retailers too!
So why wait? Dive into these thrilling YA adventures today and treat yourself (or someone special) to some fantastic reads as we embark on another year filled with stories waiting to be discovered. Here’s to fresh starts and exciting journeys ahead—happy reading!
Mystery booksA few of my mystery books or stories did get new covers as well, mostly to make it obvious that they were holiday themed books. Some of them received new names as well.

Some of my annotated public domain books got makeovers as well, including
A Christmas Carol, 24-Day Advent Reader – Share this heartwarming and timeless story to share with your family next Christmas

The Life of Our Lord, 24-Day Advent Reader – Charles Dickens would gather his little ones around him every Christmas, captivating them with the mesmerizing tales from this, his last published book

Dickens Advent Reader including the two above books. Enjoy the magic of Dickens in 24 daily readings, with scriptural references and reflection questions.

Book of Mormon 365-Day Reader – A separate block dedicated to an insightful daily reader that’s perfect for spiritual reflection throughout the year.

Advent Reading Delight: Count Down With Us This December!

I have written previously about my 24-Day Advent Readers (A Christmas Carol, The Life of Our Lord, and both together in the Dickens Advent Reader). These books provide a unique and meaningful way to count down the days until Christmas, allowing readers to immerse themselves in timeless stories that capture the spirit of the season. I thought I would take the opportunity to showcase them here to give you a better sense of the beautiful new covers, and the internal layout and typography. These books are great additions to your library, in both print and ebook formats.
These striking new covers truly bring these classic tales to life. Each has been thoughtfully designed to evoke the warmth and nostalgia associated with Christmas literature.

Aren’t those gorgeous? I am particularly excited about the possibility of offering collector’s editions next year with gold foil embellishments! These special editions would not only enhance your reading experience but also serve as beautiful decorative pieces for your bookshelf.
And now for a sample of the interiors. Today is December 4, so how about a sample of the December 4 reading from A Christmas Carol?

And for those of you who prefer the portability and features of ebooks, a peek at the digital versions—of course, it will look different on different readers, but here is a sample of the interior on the Kindle Fire.

These Advent Readers make for an excellent gift or personal indulgence as we approach Christmas. They offer not just engaging content but also beautifully designed pages that enhance your reading experience. Whether you prefer flipping through physical copies or enjoying them digitally on your e-reader, these books will undoubtedly enrich your holiday traditions.
I hope you find joy in exploring A Christmas Carol and The Life of Our Lord through these newly designed Advent Readers this season. Happy reading!
