I am a big fan of mysteries whether they are Cozy or more hard core. Either way, you can’t go wrong with books by P.D. Workman. For cozies you have the Aunty Clem’s mysteries. If you want a bit of supernatural you can’t go wrong with Reg Rawlins Psychic Investigator. And my all time favorites are her more hard-core Zachary Goldman Private Investigator and Kenzie Kirsch Medical Thriller series. All of these series keep you reading from beginning to end waiting impatiently for the next book to come out.—Kandy Thome
P.D. Workman’s books are amazing. The characters in her books are realistic and the challenges they face could be something that yourself or someone you know, are going through or have been through. There is real medical challenges like mental illness and alcoholism. The characters are not perfect and some of their actions aren’t perfect but they are very likeable. When I finish a book, I am excited for the next one in the series. If you haven’t read any of this author’s books, what are you waiting for, you might just find your next favorite author.—Wanda SiesickiTweet
P. D. Workman is one of few authors I have found with the ability to glide from one genre to another, seemingly effortlessly, while spinning truly captivating tales that are not only entertaining, but which plumb the depths of some very sensitive social issues. Her diverse array of characters are consistently interesting and engaging regardless of whether they are psychics, private investigators, bakers, or physicians. You will always be treated to an intriguing story with unexpected surprises, plenty of suspense, a bit of danger, and in some of her series, a splash of magic just for fun. With several series and 100 books to her name, you might worry that there will be nothing fresh offered to her readers but fear not, P. D. Workman never fails to deliver a unique story with a solid plot and a satisfying resolution to keep you coming back for more.— Kim SchupTweet

Unraveling the Twisted Mind in Tick Tock

Looking for some reading over the holiday? I just released His Fear Was Real, book #16 in the Zachary Goldman Mysteries series last week. I have a lot of great deals and bundles available in my store for Christmas, and this is a great series if you want to binge-read!
Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly bookish meme. Read the rules and more teasers at The Purple Booker. Anyone can play along.
James Patterson is one of my go-to mystery/suspense authors. I enjoy almost everything I read by him. Tick Tock is no exception. James Patterson’s and Michael Ledwidge’s Michael Bennett series is one of my favourites. I love Bennett’s ten adopted kids and irreverent Irish priest grandfather. Bennett is a hard worker, digging down deep and finding the connections he needs to in order to catch the bad guys.
In Tick Tock, Bennett faces one of his most challenging cases yet. A serial killer is terrorizing New York City, mimicking the methods of infamous historical serial killers. The stakes are high, and Bennett knows he must dig deep and make the necessary connections to bring this deranged killer to justice. As the plot unfolds, Patterson and Ledwidge skillfully weave in unexpected twists and turns, keeping readers on the edge of their seats.
A must-read for fans of the Michael Bennett series and anyone who enjoys a thrilling and engaging read.
On the screen, the chilling and redundant words I AM A BOMB flashed on and off
James Patterson and Michael Ledwidge, Tick Tock

NYC’s #1 detective, Michael Bennett, has a huge problem-the Son of Sam, the Werewolf of Wisteria and the Mad Bomber are all back. The city has never been more terrified!
When a rash of horrifying crimes tears through the city, the city calls on Detective Michael Bennett, pulling him away from a seaside retreat with his ten adopted children. Not only does it tear apart their vacation, it leaves the entire family open to attack. Immediately, it becomes clear that the crimes are not the work of an amateur, but of a calculating, efficient, and deadly mastermind.
Bennett enlists the help of a former colleague, FBI Agent Emily Parker. As his affection for Emily grows into something stronger, his relationship with the nanny takes an unexpected turn. All too soon, another appalling crime leads Bennett to a shocking discovery that exposes the killer’s pattern and the earth-shattering enormity of his plan. From the creator of the #1 New York detective series comes the most volatile and most explosive Michael Bennett novel ever.

But as he digs deeper, what begins as a simple case quickly spirals into something far more sinister. Zachary finds himself in a dangerous game of cat and mouse with someone in the shadows who is none too pleased to find someone snooping around the cold case.
With the help of an unlikely ally, Zachary must unravel a complex web of corruption and powerful people if he hopes to uncover the truth before it’s too late.

Maybe being broken makes it easier for others who have faced tragedy to trust him. Walk with Zachary as he solves cases that will stretch his abilities to the limit.
Even with his own life in shambles, Zachary Goldman is still the one you want on the case.
