I'm back in business
You haven’t heard from me for a while because I’ve been busy researching and writing the new book. I decided to go back to pure romance for this one as I know that’s what my core readers love to read most, (and so do I!)
To write about two people falling in love is magical, and when I add the supporting characters and set them in a story with lots of twists, turns, and obstacles in the way, it’s difficult to stop. I don’t want the story to end, but it must or you’ll never get to read it.
Happiness for Hazel is another book in the series Women of Wakefield, so if you liked Evelyn’s Fight and Peace for Gladys, you’ll love this one.
Hazel is charmed by a young man from a mining family. Fearing her parents might not approve, she keeps her affair secret.
Her sweetheart hides a darker side that Hazel finds exciting, but when he becomes possessive, she discovers he might not be the man she thought he was. Are the rumors about him true? Can she trust him with her heart?

1943 - After an outrageous abuse by a German soldier, Cassie escaped from the Lodz ghetto in Poland. A group of partisans found the sixteen-year-old and her younger sister and helped them to cross Europe in an audacious plan to reach safety.
Travelling thousands of miles through enemy territory, Cassie endured some terrifying ordeals and survived on starvation rations. She lived in constant fear of patrols and ambushes, but her world changed when a young Austrian Jew befriended her.
Under the extreme conditions of trying to escape the holocaust, friendship soon turned to love, and Gunter became the focal point of her chaotic life.
Was Cassie resilient enough to travel the infamous freedom trails to reach the safety she craved? Would Gunter give up his partisan life to join her?

Happy New Year marketing!
Happy New Year to everyone!
Marketing is a chore, but a necessary one for any self-respecting Indie author. In my publishing years, I’ve tried various strategies, and recently I scrutinised what works best for each of my books. (I have around twenty published to date in many genres under the same author name.)
I’ve had some surprising results when I look back over the lifetime of each novel. What I perceived to be one of my bestsellers, in fact, has enjoyed average sales, and what I thought was an old has-been, continues to sell steadily, whether I advertise it or not.
What do I conclude from all this number crunching and analysing? Well, I haven’t wasted my time. I learned that a good book in a popular genre sells well, no matter what I do to enhance those sales.
Unfortunately, for my sales, I like to jump out of the box occasionally to try new genres like sci-fi, paranormal, and time travel, but have discovered my time would be better employed in writing what sells best for me. Stories about ordinary British people loving, fighting, and hiding secrets while enduring the WW2 era are the books my readers seem to like best.
Fans of historical romance, watch this space.

This series shows the war years from a different angle, seen through the eyes of young German, Russian and Polish women.
The first in this series is, 'Your Name is Jane' Your Name is Jane
Second is, 'Hannah's Conflict.' Hannah's Conflict
Third is, 'Ingrid's Mission.' Ingrid's Mission
Each one of these can be read as stand alone novels, but might be better enjoyed when read in sequence.
All my courageous women have struggles, loves, dreams and goals, and I hope my readers will come to love them as much as I do.
