Every year on Valentine's Day we hear about the stories of perfect love and complete happiness and romantic encounters of the erotic kind... We never hear about the dark side to love and what it can do to a person. True love and real passion can be a dangerous thing. After all, Love and Hate are the strongest emotions in the world and if a person isn’t careful one, can lead to the other. Inside of these pages you will find the stories of what can happen when love goes wrong.

The gates of hell are open. Angels and Demons fight for our mortality and dominance of earth. The rapture diminishes the human population and very few remain to defend what God gave us. It is up to the angels to fight the war, the humans to survive and the druids to protect the earth.

Cole wants nothing more than to be left alone until the war is over and see who wins. He doesn't care for rules of any kind and least of all to choose a side. Fate however has different plans for him. His only friend is being held hostage by a demon with a plan to win the war and return the earth to what it once was. It is up to him to rescue her with the help of a fallen angel who comes to his aid to ensure his survival.

The druids are the only ones who can save his friend but have an agenda of their own. The demon is demented but has the best intentions for what she believes. Cole finds his self lusting after the fallen angel and must choose between her and saving his friend. The problem is that he doesn't know who he can trust to make sure everyone comes out alive.

Armageddon is here and where will our souls go; heaven, hell or return to the earth? The only thing known for sure is Cole will die to know the answer.

Everyone has a past. Everyone has a secret. The only difference is a few will kill you. Vera is no different. She has lived a long life filled with many errors in judgment. Her past is coming back to catch up with her and leaving her with no option but to fight it. Will she have the strength to make it through?
Cole is hiding a secret too. His powers are growing. He doesn’t know who he is or how powerful he will become. He only knows what he has to do and he doesn’t want to. It is only his trust in Vera that he is able to continue on every day. Where will all of this lead to in discovering who he really is? Will he be able to come to terms with the answer?
Seth comes up missing. He is the catalyst which starts the down fall of it all. A wrong understanding on his part brought back a powerful adversary. It is the connection through a single point that everything must come to an end. Armageddon rages on, changing the world and bringing with it all of the Demons once thought dead and gone. Vera and Cole must save their own fallen solider when his past returns too.
The past catches everyone in a storm. There will be nothing left if Vera and Cole fail. Watch as the world burns and the Angels fall. Believe the reckoning that is coming within Exsilium

Welcome the Spectacular Stacey Rourke

Stacey Rourke is such a talented author, and a wonderful friend of mine. She is a positive force in the writing community who supports all authors, and puts her heart and soul into writing fantastic stories.

Tell us a bit about yourself?

I am the author of the YA Fantasy Gryphon Series and the nonfiction autobiographical I'm Not Crazy, I'm on Lupron; a Journey Through Infertility. I live in Michigan with my husband, two beautiful daughters, and two giant, drooly dogs. I loves to travel, have an unhealthy shoe addiction and consider myself blessed to make a career out of talking to the imaginary people that live in my head.

Tell us about your books?

If you like lots of action mixed with snarky humor along with fantasy melded into a realistic backdrop then I am totally your girl!

Tell us about Anchor Group?

Anchor Group is a traditional small press with a plethora of insanely talented authors under our label. I just so happen to be the owner of the company.

Which character in your book is most like you?

I like to think Celeste, but I worry I'm kidding myself. I'm probably more like Rowan, a smart mouth that immensely enjoys rum.

Who inspires you?

Creativity inspires me in any form. Music, movies, books, any outlet that can engage me and evoke a strong emotional reaction I am deeply inspired by.

What are your 5 favorite books?

Oh geez! That's tough! I LOVE the Hunger Games Series, Warm Bodies, the Casteel Series by VC Andrews, the list goes on and on.

What is your favorite genre to write in?

Fantasy! I love the endless possibilities of it!

How did you get started writing?

I have been writing since I could put crayon to paper in elementary school. Honestly, it's as much a part of who I am as my height and eye color.

What words of wisdom would you impart on aspiring authors?

Read, read, read, READ! It was Stephen King that said "Only by reading can a writer acquire the tools they need" and that is absolutely true. To know what works and what doesn't you have to read as many different types of books in various genres as possible.

Do you need special conditions to get in the writing zone?

I used to. I had a whole ritual to get myself in the right state of mind. It's not really necessary anymore. I think that comes with experience.

Who are your 5 favorite authors?

I can't narrow it down to five! Especially since Anchor Group has over twenty mind-blowingly talented writers!

What would you like to say to your fans?

Thank you for all your support. I would be exactly nowhere without you! As long as you keep reading them, I'll keep writing them!

All 18-year-old Celeste Garrett wants is to head off to college and make those fun, yet ill-advised, choices college kids are known for. And maybe to spend some time with the hot cameraman she just met. Instead, because of a pact her ancestors made in the 17th century with a mythical creature, she has to save the world.

While normal kids are slamming energy drinks and cramming for exams, Celeste will get her adrenaline rush fighting a fire breathing dragon. She wants to meet friends in the quad to exchange lecture notes, but first she must exchange blows with a shapeshifting demon on the rooftop. Life isn’t always fair for a superhero, but at least she doesn’t have to do it alone. With her brother and sister as sidekicks, they alternate between saving lives and getting on each others’ nerves. Together the trio encounters unspeakable odds, mystical forces and comes face-to-face with an image that will haunt them forever—their grandmother in a leopard print bikini.

"Okay, little side note here. If a psychopathic killer asks if you want to see a trick, say no. That’s the smart thing to do. I, on the other hand, responded, 'Bring it'."

Celeste Garrett has finally found a happy balance in her life as the Chosen One, thanks in large part to a certain hunky Irishman. But if there’s any lesson she should heed since receiving her calling it’s that everything can change in the blink of an eye. Soon a terrible new threat, unlike anything she’s ever encountered, causes her to make a gut-wrenching choice that will strip her of someone she holds dear.

As much as she’d like to have a pity party for one, there’s no time for that now because wedding bells are ringing in Gainesboro! In between dress fittings and rehearsal dinners Celeste will have to fend off attacking demons and leering pirates. As if the Dark Army wasn’t scary enough our heroine is faced with the horrifying trauma of attending a bachelorette party with her mom and watching Grams do Jello shots. Is a walk down the aisle even possible for a member of the Garrett family when the Dark Army is out to destroy them? More importantly, will the Dark Army Glee Club sing at the reception?

Raise your glass to the happy couple, and get ready for a wedding…Conduit-style.

Welcome the Extraordinary Eric Asher!

I'd like to welcome the Amazing Eric Asher to my blog. This is his first time here so I'm really excited to have him! He stopped by for a wonderful and interesting interview!

Tell us a little about your books?

Days Gone Bad - Damian gets a phone call from his sister where she reveals her plan to devour her entire ex-boyfriend’s wedding party. This would generally be considered a bad idea, so Damian offers to sabotage the wedding to keep his sister out of trouble. They aren’t exactly the most traditional of siblings, Sam being a vampire and Damian being a necromancer. Chaos ensues. Wolves and the River of Stone continues Damian’s story.

What is a necromancer?

According to Google, that would be an individual who engages in “the supposed practice of communicating with the dead.” Necromancers have long been associated with practitioners of the dark arts and are usually portrayed as villains in fantasy. Their abilities can vary greatly depending on the world you’re reading.

Why did you decide to write your books around this type of character?

I have always enjoyed seeing characters that are either anti-heroes, or have characteristics that would normally label them as a villain, doing unexpected things. There are necromancers in Damian’s world that are very much the villains, but there are also necromancers that are very much not.

Now explain to us what a worrible is they are highly sought after (still waiting to win one!) they are so darn adorable?

Worribles are the epic union of the art of Andrew Bell and Squishables. Andrew is an amazing artist, and Squishables, well, they’re squishy. I can’t get enough of them.

What inspired your books?

I wrote a short story based on a nightmare I had. That short story eventually grew into Days Gone Bad.

Who is your favorite character?

That’s like asking which child is your favorite while they’re all standing right in front of you! Focusing strictly on book two, Carter is definitely one of my favorites. He has a calm facade and is remarkably patient with his friends, but he can be violent and explosive in battle when he needs to be. Damian, Zola, Sam, and Foster are always at the top of the list too.

Which character is like you?

There are small pieces and quirks and personality traits I’m sure have been influenced by people I know, and myself, but no character is intentionally written to be like any one person.

Which character do you love to hate in your books?

Philip is the character I love to hate. There’s a lot more to his story than what we’ve seen, and we just might have to visit that one day.

Which one is the most fun to write?

Foster is incredibly fun to write. He’s sarcastic and engages with Damian’s sense of humor very well, but he still has fairy tendencies that keep Damian on his toes.

What's coming next?

Book three. We’re aiming for late winter or early spring for the next release.

Do you have a specific set of conditions that get you in the writing zone?

Not particularly, but I do have my own little office in our house filled with things I enjoy, and occasionally hoard. Just outside the door is our reading nook that houses two barrister bookcases with signed and hard to find books by our favorite authors. It’s inspiring to me, having those books close by.

Who designed your beautiful covers?

The wonderful Claudia at Phatpuppy Art. Teresa Yeh did the photography and Bookish Brunette Designs did the typography.

Have any authors made a mark on your life?

In regards to expanding my love of the fantasy genre, I will always owe thanks to Robert Asprin for his Myth Adventures series. They are such a wonderful blend of humor and adventure that I loved when I was a kid. Northworld by David Drake single handedly turned me into a huge fan of military science fiction. C.S Friedman, Neil Gaiman, Patricia Briggs, and Tad Williams are also at the top of my list.

What would you like to say to your fans?

I would like them to know how much I appreciate them taking the time to read these books. Being able to share these stories with other people who enjoy them has been one of the most rewarding experiences of my life.

My name is Damian Valdis Vesik. I am a necromancer, an ability feared and hated as much as the powers my master and I set ourselves against. We've vanquished many evils, but now something is releasing an old darkness, forcing us to hunt an enemy beyond anything I’ve faced before. I was already busy enough with vampires, fairies, witches, Watchers, weddings, and … damn, I need a vacation.

Philip, Zola’s boyfriend from one hundred and fifty years ago, is not nearly as dead as we thought. I really wish he was. Not only has he kidnapped Zola, but he’s raising an army to scour humanity from the earth. Hopefully the local werewolf pack will help. What could possibly go wrong?

The Fabulous Faith Marlow!

Have you met Faith Marlow? She is SUPER talented and just re-released her book Being Mrs. Dracula which is in a genre that's near and dear to my heart any and all things vampire!

She stopped by for a candid (and really fun!) interview! Tell us a little about yourself?  I have enjoyed writing since I was a child, but I did not pursue it seriously until about seven years ago when I first attempted to write a novel. That story has yet to see the light of day, but my second novel did. Being Mrs. Dracula is when I started to take my writing more seriously. I self published it for about a year and just a few months ago I was blessed to become a member of the Crushing Hearts and Black Butterfly Publishing family.
Tell us a little about your books?  My books and stories seem to all (at least so far) have some sort of paranormal connection or twist in them. I love the idea of taking things that are well know or that we comfortable with, like the story of Dracula, and making it my own. I like taking common experiences and making them uncommon. So what sparked your interest in vampires? I have always liked vampire, except for when I was a little girl and I was afraid of them. The fear turned into interest. I love that vampires are the “all purpose” monster. They can be beautiful and sexy or monstrous and animalistic depending on the needs of the story. I love that more the human looking vampires have a mystery beneath the surface, something that makes them irresistible to humans, and even the monsters spurn curiosity. They were humans once, after all.
Do you believe there are real vampires in the world? I do not believe there are vampires in the world as presented in my book, immortal, shape shifting, creatures. I believe there are individuals who consider themselves to be vampires. I know there are very ordinary, yet very toxic people who can suck the life out of you if you let them. Holy water and crucifixes have no effect on them unfortunately.    Where did you get such a fabulous working knowledge of vampires?  I have read several books, and spent hours of research time online. I read Bram Stoker’s Dracula and then re-read portions of it multiple times, examining the rules he set forth, how he thought the creatures should behave, their weaknesses and strengths. I did not want to write a sequel to Dracula, but I did want my book to live within that world as accurately as possible.
How do you feel about the different takes on vampires like The Vampire Diaries, Twilight, and True Blood?  Like everyone, I like some these vampires more than others. I read the Twilight novels and watched two of the movies and I have watched some True Blood. The Vampire Diaries never caught my eye, so I never started watching it or read it. I like that there is a vampire for every taste, but I have to worry about the market getting oversaturated right when my books are hitting the market.
Which one is the closest to your vampires? Since I have no knowledge of The Vampire Diaries, I can only compare them to Twilight and True Blood. Between the two, I think my vampires would have to be more like the vampires of True Blood. I have no YA aspect to my story, no teenage angst, no worrisome parents. My characters are very much adults and experience more adult issues. The love scenes in my book, while they are not as steamy as erotica, are certainly not YA material like those described in Twilight. What inspires you? Anything and everything can be an inspiration. Tales of the historic Vlad III (Vlad the impaler), his marriages, and the battles he fought inspired several scenes in Being Mrs. Dracula. Of course Bram Stoker’s Dracula, and the multitude of Dracula inspired films that have came afterward were also very influential. I also love taking ordinary people and situations and making them scary or paranormal. I think that is very unnerving, to take something comfortable and make it disturbing. If you could sit down with 3 people (living or dead) for a conversation who would they be and why?    Just three? I would love to talk to Bram Stoker. Dracula was not well received during his lifetime. I think he should know that his book changed history, that we look at vampires differently because of his work. I think he deserves to know his book was a success. The second person I would like to meet would probably be the first wife of Vlad III, the inspiration for Valeria. Her name has been forgotten by history. As the wife of one of the most famous individuals in history, I think it is a shame her name was lost. I would like to ask her to tell mer her name and about her life. The third and most importantly would be my Mother, Anna. She passed away ten years ago and never knew about this book. I wish she could see it and see what a great young man her grandson is becoming. What would you tell your 12 year old self if you could go back in time to speak to yourself ?  I would tell myself to write more, as much as possible. I would tell myself to exercise more, to make it important before my thirties. I think I would leave the rest alone. I have been fortunate in my life to be happy, surrounded by people that love me, married to a wonderful man and we have a great son. I would not change a thing!
Do you need special conditions to write?  I have to be at my computer, with my music, and a cup of coffee, everything else is negotiable. Are you a typer or a longhand writer?  I am certainly a typer when I work, but I make a lot of longhand notes.       Favorite color?  My favorite color to wear is black, even my car is black. I love blue and green too, earthy colors.   Favorite Holiday?   Halloween but Christmas is a close second. But you get to dress up on Halloween and it has lots of scary movies, so it is the winner. I am not a big fan of the bittersweet style of most Christmas movies but Christmas has better food. Favorite Drink?  Coffee Is your Christmas tree up?  Yes. When I was a kid, my Mom always put our tree up before my birthday, so I usually do, too. This year we have two little trees instead of one big tree. Favorite tradition?  We always have chocolate cream pie for Christmas at dessert, only time I make them because they are too good to have around all the time! Favorite food?  Chinese food, especially Chicken Teriyaki. Favorite writing snack?  Coffee, with or without the snack. One of my favorites is a late night run for cappuccino and banana nut muffins. Do you write in a specific color?   I always type in black font, but I highlight things in multiple colors. Favorite vacation spot?  We love to hike, so camping is a favorite thing for us. I love hiking a new trail and then spending the night by the campfire. We went to the beach last year and cannot wait to get back.
What would your dream car be? We just got a new car last year and it was the exact car I wanted. It may not be a dream car for some but I would not trade it for anything, a black Toyota Yaris, two door hatchback. I call it my little spaceship. Where do you see yourself in 10 yrs?  I see myself living someplace warm, because I am getting tired of cold weather. I see myself still writing, because I cannot imagine ever not wanting to. I see myself looking back at the Being Mrs. Dracula series with pride, knowing I have told the best story I could tell. What is your favorite song?    11 am (Daydreamer) by 10 Years Favorite music artist?  I have so many. I love 10 Years, Florence + The Machine, OneRepublic, Coldplay, but when it is time to write it always go back to Sigur Ros. Takk is my favorite album and I have probably listened to it over a thousand times by now. Favorite holiday song? I love Blue Christmas by Elvis but I also like Ave Maria, and instrumentals like Carol of the Bells.

Welcome to Jessica O'Gorek

Have you met the Phenomenal Jessica O'Gorek? She's the author of a great little book called Gemini Rising. Let me tell you this is not a book you want to miss. I truly enjoyed it!

Synopsis :  BEWARE! THE PLANET IS WOUNDED... THE GEMINI ARE RISING AND OUR TIME ON EARTH IS LIMITED
Angry at the human race and its methodical destruction of her resources, Mother Earth recruits souls who have just left their bodies to serve Her, and turns them against humanity.
Gemini, a clan of paranormal beings, picked from these possessed humans, emerges. A powerful, rising force proceeds to carry out Mother Nature’s plan to systematically destroy towns, cities, states… and eventually, the world.
Amidst the chaos, a forbidden relationship between a human girl, Violette, and Onyx, a lead Gemini, begins. They will both find themselves in the middle of a revolutionary war that will either save, or destroy our world.

Review : To say that I enjoyed Gemini Rising would be an understatement. I found myself drawn into the tangled web of the story and held tight on the edge of my seat! I fell in love with Onyx who is this brutishly beautiful character who does have a heart but it takes a lot to get into his hard shell. I found myself spinning between loving the Gemini or loving the humans each had their own failings that were beautifully brought out as the story went on. I also have a huge respect for the earth, who I believe the mother character was and I loved her she was like an unforgiving god in a way. This story has serious undertones that make you think and touched my heart in ways I didn't think a book could. This is a 10 star book on my list and I know I will be assigning it to my daughter and sons to read, Jessica is such a talented wordstress and she knows how to tell a story for sure!

About the Author :

I was born in Chesapeake, Virginia on April 19th, 1979. I was raised within the American Indian religion and was taught great respect for the earth and all its living beings. Powwows, sweat lodges, vision quests, you name it, I've done it. I was the weird kid who would confront kids on the playground in elementary school when they squished a bug. I would very sincerely tell them what they were doing was morally wrong and then I would pray for the bug to come back as a butterfly in its next life.
I grew up admiring my father, Barry Weinstock, as an author. When I was twelve I started hand writing novels. My first one was two thousand pages. My daughter, who is thirteen, is currently working on her first novel. I hope to continue the legacy.

Getting ready to bring the baby home, feeling those first fluttering’s, and loving your baby. But what happens when things start going wrong? How do you tell your little boy that he will never get to meet his baby sister? How do you get through the pain of both, the delivery and the heartache? They say, “That which does not kill you makes you stronger,” but the phrase only works when it DOESN'T kill you….Author Jamie Gibson tells the story of how her second pregnancy affected not only her life, but those around her. She describes the trying circumstances surrounding her family during her troubled pregnancy. And Jamie shows how a baby, that she was never able to hold, made her stronger to face the rest of her life.

“Dark and Bright is an intimate look at the heart and soul of a young poet. Jamie Gibson's deepest feelings on the subjects of death, friendship, depression, anger, love, happiness, hate, the 9/11 terrorist attack and the recent Sandy Hook massacre are all included in this poignant collection of poetry.
A broad range of emotions are expressed in her poetry, and Jamie holds nothing back from the reader as she brilliantly illustrates the ups and downs she has experienced. Poetry, as her form of therapy, has conveyed her innermost thoughts and how she has dealt with all of life's wild cards.
The opposite of dark is bright and this collection sweeps across the entire field. There are dark poems, bright poems, and in between; and all of them are from Jamie's heart.” Brandy Corona

Welcome Adam Gaffen

Everyone say hello to Adam Gaffen! He is a remarkable author with a whole lot of talent! He stopped by and we had an awesome interview so check it out!

Tell us about your books

|Well there are four, at the moment. One is a collaboration with Richard Evans called The Kildaran (which is also  the name of my primary blog), based on the Paladin of Shadows series. But it's a huge book, and it really gave me the spur to really get writing. Next up is Refuge, a time-travelling vampire novel set in the very near future. And no, my vampires do NOT sparkle. The other two, Run Like Hell and A Deadly Quest, are the first two books in The Cassidy Chronicles and are set a century from now.
What is your favorite genre to write in?

Science Fiction, though I have done a couple pastiches of Sherlock Holmes and a wee bit of horror.
Are any of your characters in the books like you?

No, I haven't written myself into anything yet. Though I've written plenty of my friends in.
What is your next book?

Third book in The Cassidy Chronicles. The tentative title is A Desperate Gambit. It continues the story, obviously.
Can we get a sneak peek?

Sure, at the end of the interview, okay?
ABSOLUTELY! Do you need special conditions to write?

In a way, yes. I don't like quiet, but I don't like to be disturbed, if that makes any sense. I need some activity around me but not too much.
Are you a typer or longhand writer?

Typer. If you ever saw my handwriting you'd know why.
Who inspires you?

Inspiration can come from anywhere, and frequently does. There is no single person that inspires me, though.
Favorite authors?

How long can this be? Okay. Heinlein. Asimov. Weber. Ringo. Bradbury. Cussler. Asprin. Adams. Bryson. Stasheff. Gerrold. Um. Maybe I ought to stop there. One more – Stephen King.
Authors who influence your writing?

Robert Heinlein, mostly. Love his style, love the way he was able to take the most offbeat idea and make it totally plausible.
Favorite Holiday tradition?
Roasting almonds.
Is your christmas tree up?

Not yet!
Favorite color?

Blue.
Favorite food?

A properly done steak.
Favorite writing snack?

Writing snack? Um. Not sure. Try not to eat and snack.
Favorite Song?

That's tough. So many good ones. Maybe “Fruitcakes” by Jimmy Buffett.
Favorite vacation spot?

Anywhere I can go to get away from things.
Favorite beverage?

Coke Zero
Favorite Holiday song?

“A Christmas Carol” by Tom Lehrer. Or maybe “Snoopy's Christmas”.
Favorite Holiday?

Thanksgiving.
If you were a supernatural creature who would you be and why?

Hmm. Probably a Time Lord. Would love to see anywhere and anywhen.
Favorite books?

Job: A Comedy of Justice
by Robert Heinlein.
Favorite Movies?

Way too many to list.
Favorite TV Show?

Doctor Who, both the reincarnation and the original shows.

So, who wants to have a look into A Desperate Gambit?

Cass hadn't made the rendezvous.
It was a testament to her personality that the two professionals had actually obeyed her direction and departed for their hotel room, the secondary meeting point.
“You're right,” Montana said at last. “She should be. She isn't. Yet. Don't give up on her, though. Maybe she's following another lead.”
“Yeah, sure, like that's liable to happen, if she fetched out Lisa's husband, what did he do anyway, I don't think we every asked but I guess it doesn't matter now, he's a package deal, but maybe she got lost getting out or detained or there was some other problem and she came out right after we left, that would be horrible for her, she must think we deserted her!” Mac's speech tended to be very stream-of-consciousness; working around IT had stunted her social skills. Still, it was a positive sign that she was saying more than just two or three words.
For now, at least...
“What did you say, about my husband?” asked Lisa from behind.
Montana answered before Mac could drown her in a torrent of words. “The records showed two rooms being used to hold you and your husband. We chose one room, Cass the other.”
“Why?”
That was unexpected.
“Because you were in one and your husband in the other?”
Lisa's voice caught. “My husband's dead. Kaine's goons killed him.”
The transport screeched to a halt as Montana attempted to mash her foot through the floor.
“WHAT?”
“He's dead!”
“Shit, shit, shit!” Montana clenched the wheel for another moment, then forced herself to relax. “Mac.”
“Yes, Montana?”
“Hack back into HLC. I want video and audio taps on all their internal cameras, I don't care if they can trace it, and I want it before we get back to the hotel.” “On it.” For once, there were no questions.

Wedding days are supposed to be memorable, but probably not like this. Not with an assassination attempt and fleeing your home and country for reasons you don't understand. But that's exactly what happens to Aiyana Cassidy. Now, she's on a quest to find out who's chasing her, what they want, and how she can stop them. Set a century from now, this novella is the first of the Cassidy Chronicles.

Cass and Ken are on the run, searching for a safe place to find the answers. Who is trying to kill them? What do they want? How does Cass' research tie into this?
The questions are harmless, but the answers might make this A Deadly Quest.

What would you do if you were...
...hunted?
...despised?
...a vampire?
You'd try to escape. Where do you go when the whole human race is against you?
The future.
But beware - you might not like what you find.
And you can't go back.

Ben is an ordinary 12-year-old - school, friends, family. But tonight - tonight, everything could change.

Fabulous Friday with Christy Sloat!

Another one of my favorite authors stopped by for an interview! You may know her she wrote The Many Lives of Avery Snow, Ianni, and The Unraveling of Avery Snow and she's working on her current series which includes The Brown House, The Crimson Key, and Unfound. She is currently working on the next book in the series The White Door. She and I have many things in common including a love of reading. So I decided to ask her what her favorite books were here are her answers!

Okay see the books above and find me on Goodreads. I have a lot of really good books on there.

3 books that you think should be read by school children:

The Harry Potter books should be read by all school age children. Also Judy Moody and American Girl books. They are such great books for girls. I can’t say about boys because I don’t have any.

We also spoke about her newest project The White Door
Let's talk about your new book The White Door can you give a little synopsis?

This is a raw unedited synopsis:

The haunting third book in the Best Selling Visitors Series.

“When I had first moved here I was still a girl who cherished the normality of teen life. Now, after being here a year I came to love a boy who was both strong and courageous. I made real friendships that would last even after death. The selfish girl my grandmother warned me of becoming had vanished. A girl who stood tall with the powers to see the dead and help those in need appeared in her place.”

In Brylee’s world nothing is normal. She sees and speaks with the dead and at 17 years old she already has a full plate. She’s in her senior year and college is just around the corner. She must learn to control her gifts of seeing the dead and survive in the land of the living if she wants to fulfill her dreams of college. She succeeded in ridding the Brown family curse from her boyfriend, Ephraim but in the end her best-friend lost her life. Now a whole slew of new problems present itself and like always Brylee is tempted to run for the hills. With Ephraim at her side she must come to grips with the reality that she is not a normal girl and she never will be. What will happen when the town turns on her and her house? Or better yet when a body is unearthed in her backyard? Brylee will be forced to make more decisions than ever before.

Who designed the cover?

The cover is not yet designed.

Will this be the last book in the series?

No, there will be one more after this. Untitled as of now.

Who is your favorite character in the series?

By far, Brylee. She is getting so strong. I can see her growing up right in front of my eyes.

Which character is most like you?

Kayla is most like me. She’s brash and to the point but at the same time she would do anything for her friends.

What's coming next from the amazing mind of Christy Sloat?

I plan on writing two standalone titles that I hope to release next year. The first is, Slumber and the next after that is The Librarian. I’ll have more information on those after my last book in this current series is finished.

For now everything is fine. Her boyfriend, Dallas, has opened a new restaurant. Her friends, Ianni and Kerri, are settling into their lives as well. But when news of a new Dark Guide is revealed, Avery is forced to start thinking about the life she truly leads. One that is very abnormal. One she is desperate to forget. Now Avery’s life has gone from seemingly perfect to falling apart. What will be at stake next? Her life? Her love? And who will be there in the end to help her up off the ground?

Even the strongest love can unravel.

Some secrets should never be revealed…

Brylee Branson begrudgingly made the excruciating move with her family from the warm sandy beaches of California to small town living in New Jersey. As if she wasn’t miserable enough, they’ve moved into a creepy old house that everyone in the area claims is haunted. Brylee dismisses the idea of ghosts and hauntings, until she begins to see and hear things that can’t be explained…

Brylee has no choice but to seek the help of new friends to unlock the secrets of this place she now calls home. But some secrets should never be revealed. Can the teens find a way to release the spirits imprisoned within the walls? Or will the curse claim them, too?

 The truth can be deadly.

Brylee Branson’s best friend and boyfriend have fallen victim to a horrible curse that haunts her home. With the witches who cast it dead, she has no choice but to rely on the ghosts inside the Brown house to help her find a cure. But time is not on her side, because Lynley's illness is spreading rapidly.

Confused and scared, seventeen-year-old Brylee must confront a new ghost in the house she has never spoken to before. This spirit is not a Brown relative and makes no promises to help them … unless she can reunite her with a loved one.

The fate of those she loves now rests on her. Can Brylee put the pieces of this puzzle together in time to save them? Or will the Brown house claim another victim?

The Visitor’s Series continues to scare and entice its readers with this gripping second book.

Author Becki Brannen!

Has anyone met Becki Brannen? Well if you haven't, you SHOULD! She is the author of the Breathless series of books, and a close personal friend of mine.

So tell us a little Bit about yourself
I'm a Christian, wife and mother. I work in a law firm, but writing feeds my creative passion.
The title for Breathless was just natural. Carly has asthma, like I do, and it was the obvious choice. I picked Strapless to allude to wedding dresses. Sleepless, well, anyone's who's been a parent understands that one!!

What is your secret passion? Do you put that into your books?
My secret passion - hmm, I'd have to say my latest obsession is Vampire Diaries. More specifically, certain wonderful actors who are laid back enough to become real friends, one of whom helped shape Ryan's character a bit in Sleepless. I can't say there's any real TVD in the books, but I can say it has kept me from writing on Tuesday nights! Haha!

Are any of the characters in the books like you?
Carly is probably the most like me, but there are aspects to her friends that are pieces of me as well.
My next book is a toss up. I've got a few I'm working on right now. Running is a suspense romance. Providence is a country romance with a strong female lead, and Peregrine is sort a wistful romance. Sort of Nicholas Sparks without all of the death.

Can we get a sneak peek?

There are sneak peeks on my website http://beckibrannen.weebly.com (Lee, remind me and I'll try to get you long passages of each!)

Do you need any special conditions to write?

Nope! With two little ones and a full time job, I'm lucky if I don't end up with akdhekdbejslb in the middle of my manuscripts! I can handle the chaos!

Do you type your stories or do you write them longhand?

Typer, if possible, but longhand if I'm writing during my lunch hour at work.

Who inspires you?

My husband, my kids, really everyone who have been a major part of my life have impacted my writing.

Who are your favorite authors?

My fave authors are Heather Huffman, Nicholas Sparks and Janet Evanovich, all for decidedly different reasons!

Are there any authors who influence your writing?

I think every author you read influences you in some way. They give you some things you decide you do or do not want to do on your own writing, so I don't know that could pinpoint any one that has influenced my writing so much more than any other.

Ok now for some quick shot questions!

What's your favorite holiday tradition?

Picking out our yearly Christmas ornament

Is your Christmas tree up yet?
Not yet, but it will be up and decorated on Saturday!

What's your favorite color?Pink, no purple, red? It fluctuates. I think aqua is big for me lately.
What's your favorite food?

Beef tips on rice. Has been since I was little. Other kids said pizza and I was the oddball!

What's your favorite song?

Satisfied by Jewel

What's your favorite vacation spot?

St Augustine, Florida

What's your favorite beverage?

Iced coffee, extra cream

Favorite Holiday Song?

Silent Night

Favorite Holiday?

Christmas

What supernatural creature would you be and why?

Vampires - they're cool

What's you're favorite book?

Anything by my favorite authors.
Fave series is Stephanie Plum By the Numbers
Hunger Games/Catching Fire

What's your favorite TV Show?

TVD, of course!!

Make sure you check out all of her books!!!

Synopsis: What happens when an ordinary girl meets the man of everyone’s dreams?
Keeping secrets is never easy, especially since Ryan Spalding is on the cover of every magazine and this year's "Hottest Hunk under 30." Good thing Carly Sparks is so out of the loop when it comes to celebrity affairs, or she'd realize she was in one!

Synopsis:
Carly and Ryan are getting married!

Carly is convinced she can have it all - a budding law career, the perfect wedding and even a new house...err...mansion. Can she juggle everything, or will she drop the ball?

Synopsis:

Carly and Ryan are married!

Will baby make three before Carly has a chance to come clean about their elopement? Carly seems like she's got it all - a dream job and a dreamy husband - but she's starting to feel like her dream job is turning into a nightmare. She's feeling incomplete and just needs something... more. With the possibility that she's pregnant, and her lack of enthusiasm for her job, Carly embarks on a career path that she's hoping will leave her fulfilled and feeling like she's done something to leave her mark on the world.

Have you ever heard of Fae Books?

Well if you haven't you should! This is an AWESOME site for finding new books to read, reading reviews, getting your book reviewed, joining rafflecopters, learning about new authors and their works in progress the list of why this site rocks goes ON and ON!

I had the privilege of interviewing the owner and CEO of this page Sarah Fae Graham from across the pond! She is an amazing lady I love her and I bet you will by the end of this interview!

What made you decide to start blogging?

I was already a heavy reader and wanted to find something I could do, which was indoors, to occupy my time. Fae Books quickly took off and became my full time "job" so to speak. It's what I do, I spend my time doing things for Fae Books and I love it. I love that I've met some amazing people though the blog, and built a great team of girls, the Fae Books Team. These girls are now like one big family to me. They're much more than bloggers, authors and readers. They're great friends.

What made you choose the name Fae books?

Well Fae is a nickname I have, so it stemmed from that really. I wanted something short and easy to remember so I went with Fae Books and it just stuck.

Tell us a little about you who is Sarah Fae?

Well, I'm 25, married, living in the UK and have two Bichon Frise dogs called Teddy and Trixie. I had two daughters too, sadly they passed away three and five years ago, but they're still very much a part of my everyday life. That's a story for another time though. I love tattoos, I'm literally covered in them. 27 at last count; two arm sleeves, two leg sleeves, stomach, back, chest, face, hands, fingers, feet and more. Lol. I really enjoy reading of course. I enjoy writing too, but my writing always comes last place to anything I'm doing for Fae Books, working with other authors and bloggers and promoting their work, I always prioritize that and I'm always happy to put that first because it's something I very much enjoy doing. I love running and organizing giveaways too, I especially like the big giveaways I do where I can get other people involved and help them to get some more promo and followers from it. It's a great opportunity to bring people in the online world together.

What is your biggest success, the thing that you believe changed your life?

I'd always say becoming a mother changed my life. It gave me an understanding of how tough it was at times for my own mother and brought us closer together as a result. Once you become a parent yourself, you understand what unconditional love is.
Other than that, my biggest success would definitely be Fae Books. It's something I put my all into almost a year ago and I've worked really hard to get Fae Books and everything that comes with it, the Reviewing Team, Tours etc, off the ground. It's a great thing, to be able to take so much enjoyment from something you do, and not something that one should be too quick to pass up in life. If you find something you really enjoy, stick at it and don't give up!

Not many know it but you offer free book reviews, that's amazing what made you decide to put together a team of reviewers to do this?

I'm offered so many books to review, that I just don't have enough hours to be able to read and review them all. So I wanted to find some kind of compensation to the authors that I used to have to turn down. I've got a great group of about 20 girls on the team now (Lee Ryder is one!), and they all work amazingly hard for the team. We're all really close too. So now if I'm fully booked for reviews, I can still take them on for the girls on the team. It means the girls get great opportunities to read some of the latest, greatest and most interesting books around and it's a great way to help the authors out getting the honest reviews they need to progress. If you're interested in booking a review with the team, just head to this link for info on how the process works and a list of the info I need to process your review request: http://www.faebooks.co.uk/p/booking-reviews.html

What's YOUR favorite genre of book?

I love horror, and pretty much anything involving the paranormal or fantasy, like magic. I use my reading to escape from daily life. So something fictional works great for me.

Do you write stories as well?

I do, but my writing always comes last place in my life. Fae Books and helping others is my first priority at all times. I began the process of publishing my first book a few months ago, but I've not had a chance to go through the edits yet and finish it off. Luckily I'm not on any kind of deadline, so I'm not too worried. I don't do what I do to get rich, I do it for enjoyment only, so I take things in my stride as I go. If you'd like to add my book to your TBR list on Goodreads, here's my profile link, feel free to add me as a friend too! https://www.goodreads.com/author/show/7125994.Sarah_Fae_Graham

What inspires you?

I take inspiration from so much in the world. The people I meet and am afforded the opportunity to work with, nature, people throughout history. I like to sit back and look at situations and I try my best to find the good in every situation and learn something from them.

If you could sit down with 3 people in history for a nice talk over dinner who would they be and why?

Oh, hard to pick three, but here goes...
I think Bram Stoker would be one, the creator of Dracula as we know him today. Many of our modern vampire books wouldn't exist if it wasn't for Bram. He created some of the great myths surrounding these supernatural creatures.
My second would probably be Sherlock Holmes. I'd like a conversation with him, to understand how his mind ticks.
And my third... Hmm... Maybe J.K. Rowling.

If you could live in a different era what would it be and why?

My husband and I often have this conversation. We're convinced we were born in the wrong era. I'd love to experience life in medieval times, I think it'd give great inspiration and insight into how lucky we all are today. My husband is a Soldier, he says he'd like to experience being a soldier in those times, where you fight with armour and a sword. I'd also like to go back to the 1950s. I think that was a time, just after WWII, where neighbours appreciated each other and what they have more. People had to stick together in those times and love their neighbours. Being an Army Wife, I've experienced in some sense what it's like to need a good neighbour when your husband is away at war. I don't think many people these days can really appreciate how tough times of War can be, and how hard it is to get through. Having a great neighbour always helped me. And when her husband was deployed, we'd help with her shopping whilst she was pregnant, have morning cuppas together, or silly little things like staying in at her house for the gas man coming whilst she had appointments to be at, and just supporting each other in general. I think these are things that need to change in our world today. We should all learn to appreciate each other more.

What is your favorite book and why?

I don't think I could ever choose a favourite (English spelling there lol) book. There are so many I've read and really enjoyed, I just couldn't choose one. But some of my favourite authors are Michelle Muto, JP Bernett and K.A. Young.

Your blog is BEAUTIFUL what made you decide on that look?

Thanks, I personally think it's upside down right now. I've been meaning to completely do it over but just haven't had the chance yet. If there are any graphic designers out there that'd think they could offer a hand or any advice, I'm always open to advice. Lol. I like having the pinks and purples on the site as they're my favourite colours. But I will be redoing the blog at some point.

I know you are a very spiritual lady, tell us more about that.

I'm one of those that tries to believe everything happens for a reason. I was once told that the trials and tribulations I've been through, loosing both of my daughters, needing life saving surgery twice, my wheelchair, my health, are things that were all designed to educate me more. In the sense that, I can learn through my own experiences and use them to help others. I was told each time I've been on this earth, I've been set new challenges to make my spirit wiser and more educated, better able to reach out and help others in the world.

Do you have any advice for aspiring bloggers?

The best advice I could give would be: The right promotion is the toughest job. Promoting things at the right times, getting the right kind of responses from people. You'll learn what your own audience responds to and enjoys, and work to those strengths, because without an audience, we bloggers would be talking to ourselves. So appreciate the people that visit your blog, remember, they don't have to visit your blog every day, but some do. Life is a precious thing, so if someone is willing to make room in their life for the thing you enjoy doing in yours, be thankful for that.

Is there anything you would like to say to the fans of your blog?

A great big THANK YOU for supporting me in what I do, and the authors and bloggers that I'm lucky enough to work with. Your support means SO much to me, so, so much. Fae Books is my life, it's what I do, the first thing I do on a morning and the last thing I do before bed. Thanks for being around and taking the time out of your lives to visit the blog and see what's going on. If you'd ever like to see anything different, or a specific author featured, or if you'd like to be featured yourself, just use the Contact page to send me an email and I'll do my best to make it happen for you. I love you all!

Where were you born?

I was born in a place called Gateshead, in England, UK. If anybody knows of the TV presenters Ant and Dec, they're from the same area, so I have the same accent as them. We're called Geordies. Lol. I now live in Newcastle after just moving here from Catterick Garrison, an Army Garrison in England. We lived there for several years after moving there for hubby to be closer to his job in the Army. Now that I'm back in Newcastle, me, my grandparents and my Mam all live off the same street. So it's great to be around my family again.

Favorite Holiday tradition?

Halloween is our favourite holiday. We love to go all out for Halloween, we usually have a party at our house and the whole family come round dressed up, dogs included. But, I also love Christmas, I love cooking for my husband and making him his Christmas dinner. However, this year we're going to my Mam's, my grandparents will be coming round too, so we'll have the whole family together for the first time in ten years! It'll be great.

Favorite song?

Oh I have a bunch of songs I love. Here are some of them, inc links to them on YouTube in case you'd like to listen. My music taste is extremely varied, from Opera and classical, to rock, dance, heavy metal. It all just depends what mood I'm in as to what I'll listen to, and if I'm in a singing mood (you can't really "sing" per se, to much heavy metal lol).

Song 1:
Tyr - Hold the Heathen Hammer High
http://youtu.be/fu2bgwcv43o

Song 2:
Kate Winslet - What If
http://youtu.be/_vId_4r925o

Song 3:
Tim McGraw & Faith Hill - It's Your Love
http://youtu.be/ohC7o_PPPtY

Song 4:
Lonestar - I'm Already There. I like this one because hubby used to play it to me when he had to go away with the Army.
http://youtu.be/1jm5gfuT9Z4

Song 5:
Theory of a Deadman - Wait For Me. My wedding song, a song hubby played to be as he was ready to deploy to Afghan. We got married 3 weeks before he was due to deploy.
http://youtu.be/Qpc9deWGtKs

Favorite color?

I love pinks and purples. I've recently got into liking red and so have gone with a red gothic theme in our new bedroom in our new flat.

Favorite Food?

I. Love. Cheese! Haha. I'm cheese mad. My favourite is extra strong cheddar. Other than cheese, we're big meat eaters in this house. We almost always have meat with every meal.

Favorite Beverage?

I like coffee, of course, or energy drinks - they're all that keeps me going really. One of the illnesses I have comes hand in hand with Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, so I always feel flat and fatigued which is why I use a lot of coffee and energy drinks, otherwise I'd just end up falling asleep. I also love a nice glass of whole milk. Lovely! I very rarely drink alcohol.

Favorite Snack?

Oh, I love crumpets. I don't know if you eat crumpets in the US, but we English folk like them for breakfast, usually, though I'll eat them at any point when I'm a bit peckish (an English word, don't know if you use that in the US either, it just means "slightly hungry" lol).

Favorite vacation spot?

I've actually only ever been on vacation once, for a weekend, about 15 years ago. My Mam took me to Disneyland Paris as a child.

You see why I love this amazing gal! You should check out her blog down in her links! Don't forget to like her fb and friend her! She's AMAZING!!!
