Mitch Swenson is a journalist and game designer covering conflict, national security, defense, and technology. He has reported from over 20 countries including Egypt, Libya, Syria, Ukraine, South Sudan, and the Democratic Republic of Congo. His first book, The Tracking of a Russian Spy, was acquired for film by StudioCanal in 2014. He is the author of 1000 Days of Syria, a historical-fiction newsgame based on his field reportage from the war in Syria and the rest of the Levant. His work has appeared in The New York Times, The Guardian, The Atlantic, Vice, The New York Post, and Guernica Magazine, among other places. A graduate of Columbia University, Mitch currently lives in New York City.
