Okay, I admit it. I am totally obsessed with shells. I find each and every one of them fascinating. As I stroll on a beach, I am overcome with the urge to pick them up one by one. Each has its own distinct design and/or imperfection. It's gotten to the point that it's not how many I take home, but what poundage. My office has them everywhere, a bowl of them here, a large vase of them there. Even some of the broken ones make it home.
I can't help thinking that we think about shells like we do people. Each has his or her imperfections. We judge them by their outward beauty. No cracks or dings are accepted. I think about that every time I cast a shell aside. It's amazing though. Even the broken shells in the right setting are beautiful.

Wow! Great review on "Jesus Christ Superstar" at the Carlisle Theatre in Carlisle, Pa. They loved my son Matthew. He plays Caiaphas. Okay, I'm playing the proud mom.

It's amazing! The sun finally came out. After several days of rain and fog, I'm ready for some sunshine. I know that mysteries have a great deal of darkness in them. You kill off a character, it's dark. But sometimes, I really need some natural light to inspire me.

It was exciting yesterday to have The Sentinel newspaper in Carlisle print my author profile about my new book. It was also exciting to find that my son's picture was on the same page. Matthew will be in "Jesus Christ Superstar" opening this Friday at the Carlisle Theatre.

I have never been a great one for change. I have always relished the comfort of consistency in my life. But, change is inevitable. Children grow up. Friends move away. The green of my summer has given way to the reds and golds of fall. But, it is through change that we as individuals grow. Kicking and screaming at times, we must move on to the next step.
Here's hoping that your next steps are fulfilling ones. As for me, I'm trying my hand at being a writer, one book at a time.

I usually try to write about my writing. But today, I'm going to write about inspiration.
My cousin last spring was struck by tragedy when his wife, the love of his life, collapsed in a restaurant. After several surgeries and a stroke, this lovely woman in her mid-fifties is home. Though she can't walk or talk, he feels blessed just to have her. He's taken an early retirement to care for her, and as always, she is the center of his world.
When life gets difficult (an unexpected bill, a broken appliance), I try to think of him and what they have been going through this past year. I realize that I don't have it so bad. Count your blessings!

While waiting for the proof to arrive of my third mystery novel "Death in Sanctuary Garden," I've decided that it's time to get back to writing. I've spent the last two months polishing this last novel, and though satisfying to see it coming together, I've missed the day to day grind of creating a new book to share.
I do admit that I tend to use it as an escape from my real world. When life gets hard, I close myself up in my office and travel to the far off locations of whatever book I'm writing at the moment. So with that said, I've started the fourth one. I hope that it turns out to be something that others will enjoy as much as I

I should have the proof in my hands by the end of the week of my new mystery novel "Death in Sanctuary Garden." It will be available on Amazon in paperback and on Kindle in the next two weeks. I love these characters and am considering writing a series with them.
