Yes, it’s the hope or love whatever we can say, it is the only thing which keeps our soul and body healthier. We may came across many books that of various genres, but this book “Second Heart” written in a way which spread the awareness about our second heart(Kidney) with heart touching stories as mentioned in it’s subtitle, “First Heart beats for Love; Second Heart beats for Life”.

Second Heart Book Review by Rajashree Ghosh
Second Heart by Dr. Santosh G. Huilgol and Santosh Avvannavar is a compilation of five wonderful short stories. This book can be called a work of ‘fiction for a cause’ as each story in it imparts knowledge and awareness about kidney diseases and the problems which we overlook very conveniently. Thus, we pay a big price for taking ourselves for granted. The authors have used a very simple narrative style to bring out this simple truth of life. The book addresses several social issues like pre-marital sex and pregnancy, the adverse effects of self-medication and consuming over-the counter medicines to cure ourselves. Love plays a predominant role in all the stories.

I am delighted to review this book. The book has enormous information to communicate, although it’s small & handy. It is easy to read & draw the concepts. The book has removed the illusions of people that small books with less pages fail to convey enough thoughts, it has created one such milestone now.

A Journey of Authdas (Authordas) to Surrogate Mother
‘Writings books has taught me – True Devdas are authors.’
Writing and publishing four books and few in pipeline has taught interesting new things. Authors are exposed to criticism out there in open. There isn’t anything like hidden area! Good authors are one who write and basically not businessman, whereas there are showman too! Now this definition of good author realise on each individual as each one’s writing is meant for certain set of audience. Some critic have issue with story, some has with grammar, and some compare with their fantasy writers. I feel critic often become judgemental rather than being rational because they are better equipped with jargons. I perhaps feel there is no one out there who gets up one morning and says,’Let me write a bad novel.’Are anyone here like that? ‘Married people have options for divorce, authors are married with their books forever.’Another way to look into critics criticism is that, author does bookdan (“gift of virigin book’) to a reader, the reader is unhappy because of this new union (seen in marriages) and the issue comes back to the parents.Before critics make writers Authdas (Authordas), I decided long ago to become a ‘Surrogate Mother.’

Second Heart Authors Interview @ Natasha’z Words
A few months ago, a book called “Second Heart” was published. It was written in order to create awareness among the general public about a very important organ, the kidneys. Kidneys are referred to as the second heart of the human body and hence the name of the book.

What’s motivation behind this book?
Our research and close observation of the job interviewing process for graduates at Indian Institute of Science, Bengaluru during 2008 and 2009 for nearly 500 students in various companies, is the inspiration for this book.
How did the book shape?
The idea of book all began seven years ago; gathering information and compilation took one year, writing clear and concise manuscript took one and half year, revisions, addition, debate, arguments and others took another 6 months, decision of publisher and publication took another year. You see it takes a toll to convert an idea into a project!
