Title is Untitled Review by Parul
Yes, I know what you are thinking. The name of the book confused me as well but flipping it open and reading a couple of pages clarified all doubts. I have known Santosh, one of the authors of the book for over four years nowand hence when hesent this book over I knew that I will not attempt the usual kind of book review for this one.
A Social Adult Book as this one, is a 122 page book and sets expectations with the readers right at the start. It calls out that the chapters in the book are a blend of fiction and facts and the intent is to talk of social evils prevalent in Indian society. To name a few, the authors have not shied away from talking about sexual fantasies, marital rape, domestic violence, high suicides among men, injustice by the hands of those who should protect law, groom abduction and prostitution. Getting such an honest book published when people all around are focusing on stories, thrillers and a fiction overdose, in my mind, this was a commendable effort.

‘Title is Untitled’ and ‘Surrogate Author’ Review by Maniparna
Not every author accentuates to include his writing in a specific genre. Sometimes authors do write as they feel the urge, to let people know about the social injustice and prejudices that are plaguing our country. There are age-old, vicious, social norms which are still practiced in the remote villages in the name of tradition and most of the times the victims are women. The condition in modern, urban society are only flip side of the coin. Educated people find new ways of oppression which are much subtle and polished. Released at the Festival of Hope in Delhi, November 22, 2014,Title is UntitledbySantosh Avvannavar, Kundan Srivastava and Raghunath Babu Are, is a compilation of eleven such stories which brings forth this socialunfairness through some fictitious characters.

What is ‘Title is Untitled’?
Title is UntitledSantosh Avvannavar, Kundan Srivastava and Raghunath Babu Areintroduce their debut work, Title is Untitled: First Night, No Light, released at the Festival of Hope in Delhi, November 22, 2014.
Title is Untitled is a unique social commentary, focused on the issue of rape and the social institutions that enable it in urban and rural India.
Instead of relying solely on statistics to present their argument, Avvannavar, Srivastava and Babu Are utilize fictitious stories to serve as case studies about how women are treated in Indian society. The book covers a myriad of interwoven topics, including education, early-arranged marriage and brothel trafficking. The authors tackle serious issues in a novel format, even throwing in a healthy dose of humor towards the end of the book.
Indian actor and director Kabir Sadanand offers advance praise for the work, We must understand [rape victims] don’t need our sympathy, what they need is our commitment to stand by them. The initiative and courage to do the same as shown by the authors is inspirational.
The book is available for pre-order now on Amazon Kindle and other stores such as Amazon, B&N, Pothi.

‘Title is Untitled’ Review by Rajashree Ghosh
Titled is Untitled by Santosh Avvannavar, Kundan Srivastava and Raghunath Babu Are is a compilation of eleven wonderful short stories. This book can be called a work of ‘fiction for a cause’ (just like Dr. Sandeep G. Huilgol’s and Santosh Avvannavar’s Second Heart) as each story in it imparts knowledge and awareness about the social prejudices that is plaguing our society. The book address some serious issues like prohibition of child marriage, it asks some poignant question like “Can the age for a girl to legally get married be 21 instead of 18?”, which is so very true.
In the battle between good and evil, though we all know that good wins yet we have allowed the ‘bad’ to dominate us many times, to get the better of us, and so the result is an extremely wicked world. We tend to move towards evil knowing full well that it will harm us. Through the elven short stories, the authors have tried to point out that the Invasion of evil has taken away the title or designation of people (sister, mother, etc.) and made it untitled ( that is, victim, whore and others). In other words, when it comes to lawlessness and oppression, no one is spared. That is why, the book is very aptly titled, “Titled is Untitled”. The authors have used a very simple narrative style so that their readers can relate to the goings-on of the society they live.
