Black, Grey and White Book CoverMaking of Black, Grey and White Part 3
I am here to share experience of writing Black, Grey and White book that was launched on 01 Dec 2014 on World AIDS Day. The series of articles (first part Linkand second part – Link) might help some aspiring writers. Various articles that continue to troll that made headlines in various sources. I wondered if someone had to put an end to such a thing, how it would be? This gave birth to chapter 3: A Game of Life, Lust and Death.

Writing of ‘Get a Job WITHOUT an Interview – Google & Beyond’ Book – Part 2
Get a Job WITHOUT an InterviewIn the part 1 I discussed about the beginning of idea (incase you missed to read – Part 1). I spoke to most of the students who went through various rounds of interviews to get insights from recruiter perspective that be a technical test, technical interview, case based interviews, group discussion and HR interviews. I tried to connect those points to the job description and role projection after several years. This analogy seemed to me a short-term objective the way students prepared for campus recruitment and similar thing from hiring perspective. Even today it continue to remain same across many industries. I call it as ‘Pain-Oientiment’ relationship.
This exercise to put those points took almost two years. This has continue to remain on board for refinement to help for interview preparation in the present and future writings.
In the next article I will present how Indian marriages has helped the first chapter toshape and happen.

‘Black, Grey and White’ Book Review by Maniparna
Black, Grey and White Book CoverThe deadly disease which not only slowly pushes a person towards his end but also makes him untouchable socially, is AIDS. Even after so much preaching and teaching, any HIV positive patient is treated as a social outcast and sometimes, a sinner. We fail to comprehend the simple fact that mere touching or treating an AIDS patient doesnt make one infected with the disease. Also, indiscriminate and unprotected sex is not the only way for the transmission of the disease, it can also be spread through needle sharing, blood transfusion and from a pregnant mother to the child.

Writing of ‘Get a Job WITHOUT an Interview – Google and Beyond’ Book – Part 1
Get a Job WITHOUT an InterviewAuthors view (Santosh Avvannavar and Raghavendra Kumar Reddy): The idea to project took nearly 7 years (writing and publication took nearly 2 years), we were always fascinated with the slick book that were clear, specific and precise (minimal filler). An unconventional book that is likely to break the Q & A format and provide a framework to begin. Why such book are important for a long-term career goal?
The idea of this book started during 2006 while I saw M.Tech/M.S. students waiting outside the placement cell for job interviews. I slowly moved into a role known as ‘Placement President’ through Student Cell at IISc, Bengaluru to act as a mediator between placement cell and the institute. There were about 60 companies that participated for campus drive, I sat through most ofthe presentation that was delivered by technical representative and HR representative. This broaden my horizon of understanding the role that they looked for each business unit.
Each IT company picked countable number of students for a specific role. What I admirealso about many students was that they had clarity in picking a role and company that would help them to grow. It was more of a long-term goal. I still remember that students saying NO to an offer because their determination to work for aspecific technologies rather than just an offer. This I would term as self-awareness. Various such incidents lead to the beginning of ‘Get a Job WITHOUT an Interview – Google & Beyond’.
In the next article I will bring to you how the idea (brain) to board (paper) began.

My Fantasy Boyfriend
(Journey of Title is Untitled Part 4)
This is in continuation to series of article (Read:Journey of Title is Untitled Part 1,My would be (husband) raped me!and Dilwale Dulha le Jayenge) to give insights for aspiring writers how the book evolved. I met a person through my first book Adhuri Prem Kahaniyathat he liked and wanted to share his personal story. I spent days thinking about his story but it didn’t evoke my inner calling to write initially on a topic that wasn’t my cup of tea. While running through TV channels I saw ads on perfume, Amul Macho inner wear and others that fell into the categories that spoke a language of fantasy for me. I started to read articles and research publications that described fantasies. It was one of uncomfortable zone that I ever wondered to read and write. Writing every bit took large amount of reading, questioning the reasoning behind such fantasy and scribble single liner took weeks. I personal wanted to treat the issue of fantasy with utmost care that gives message rather than make it odd for readers. I hope to have succeed in doing so.

Chintu: The Earth is Round
Black, Grey and White Book CoverMaking of ‘Black, Grey and White’ – Part 2
I am here to share experience of writing Black, Grey and White book that was launched on 01 Dec 2014 on World AIDS Day. The series of articles (first part – Link) might help some aspiring writers. Santosh I. Biradar (B.S.W student and Founder of Chaitanya Organisation) had penned one story that spoke a self-esteem boy that we initially sent to a social magazine but it came rejected for unknown reasons. We kept that article pending to see the fitment in any future write up.
One of storythat we wanted to write was on howa child feels negative for it being HIV positive because lack of support from education front, being orphan (in some cases parents leave their child in orphanage), peer acceptance (from HIV negative) and own family members. In search of scripting this story Santosh I. Biradar and I saw a child of less than three year old who was HIV positive. We cannot forgot those moments of seeing the child peeing from a window and gave a warm smile. The radiant face made my day and made the book. That’s formed the chapter 2 – Chintu: The Earth is Round.
I hope a day is not far when we stop discriminating such childrenby giving them love and compassion.
‘If you cannot show compassion, do not show discrimination.’ – Santosh Avvannavar

Dilwale Dulha le Jayenge
(Journey of ‘Title is Untitled’ – Part 3)
This is in continuation to series of article (Read:Journey of Title is Untitled Part 1and My would be (husband) raped me!) to give insights for aspiring writers how the book evolved. I read various articles in newspapers about groom kidnappers with an intend for a force marriage. I spoke to some friends if they could help me to get in touch with someone who has seen or had personal experience. I was lucky to get find one who opened and provided bone tickling information. I was laughing through with the situation of aman who isforced to marry a rejected proposal. I didn’t want to pen it as a serious story and decided to watch ‘DDLJ’ movie to just refresh. As DDLJ movie progressed I felt how if the bride had to kidnap groom and Aditya Chopra had to direct it. I tried to put into a shoe of a director and visualised the whole story for next few days. This formed chapter 8 Dilwale Dulha le Jayaenge that brings a case of ‘Groom Kidnapping’ in dark humour.
Thanks Aditya Chopra for give us DDLJ and helping me to create ‘Dilwale Dulha le Jayenge’.

This time Santosh Avvannavar has joined hands with Shilpa Patil to writeSurrogate Author, which is Inspired by Sanjay Leela Bhansalis Devdas and is a hilarious take on the journey of aspiring authors/writers. Authdas is the tragic protagonist of the story who is an engineer by profession but is in love with writing. The booklorn aspiring author that he is, Authdas seeks inspiration to pen down his dream book Paro.

My Would be (Husband) Raped Me!
(Journey of ‘Title is Untitled’ – Part 2)
This is in continuation to series of article (Read: Journey of Title is Untitled – Part 1) to give insights for aspiring writers how the book evolved. In the part 1 it was mentioned thatthe first two chapters were written fromthe inputs ofDr. Bhagyashree, but those stories kept me disturbed for a long time. I wondered how one couldtolerate domestic violence. I narrated the first chapter (Chapter 1: Kamali : The desire of my heart) story to MBA/M.Com students in one of my classto raise debate and discussion and I found that people were disturbed with such incidents happening among our own people.
I brought few points in another class to see their views – Does the rapist need to be hanged? Will that solve the issue? It’s hard to zero down to a single point, why does one rape? After an hour discussion, when I told them what author’s perspective and Kamali (name changed) did in reality I saw shocked reaction. I was also shocked on knowing the reality for the first time. It was very easy for me to just mention that a culprit need to be hanged, no doubt one need to be given punishment based on the laws of land but I tried to dig to roots of problem through ‘Title is Untiled’. I could only go further to find the root causes because I tried to become Kamali for a while. My heart goes out to all those victims and I pray that God protects them !
Thank you Dr.Bhagyashree for making me Kamali for a while.
In the next series I shall bring to you -
Will hanging a rapist solves the problem?
Why some countries will continue to face these problems?
