When he tilts his head more, the light shows the feral look on Greg Rodwell’s face, and I fall victim to my taunting.
I bite my lip, so I don’t moan, watching his chest rise and fall faster. Refusing to let him deny or lie his way out of this, I continue. “Then, you went to your room.”
Pushing off the wall, I stand closer to him, and my heart pounds. Chrome fills me, and it nearly knocks me on my ass, and I want to beg him to fuck me here. But nope. My pussy won’t be so easy to score. With my body trembling, my voice comes out as a hoarse whisper. “I heard you beating off.”
His whisper is just as gruff. “You heard nothing.”
Greg will never know that I wanted to have sex with him for more than a mere fuck. For the first time, I wanted the passion and to have an orgasm because of him, not despite him. I needed Greg to feel it all. I wanted him to fall in love with me. Has Greg ever been in love? Maybe he will be with his new girlfriend.
That ratchet bitch.
“Really? I heard your desperate moans and fast pumping.” I feel his heat, anger, denial, and arousal with my lips closer to his. I won’t touch him. I won’t take advantage of his vulnerability. “Were you imagining coming over my naked tits and watching it drip between them?”
His lips part for two seconds before he coolly whispers, “No.”
“I knocked on your door. You were rattling it with your jerking. I wanted to help you with it. If you had let me in, I would’ve sucked your dick against the door.” His fast breaths falter, but he doesn’t argue. So I keep going. “My hot tongue stroking you, slow and then fast, taking you to the brink and then away. I know you’re hard right now.”
His voice is low. “No.”
“You would’ve fucked my mouth with your thick cock along my tongue. With your hand in my hair, you would’ve jerked me back and forth, so my tongue slid over the tip as you lost your breath. You want to feel it so damn much now, don’t you?” He doesn’t answer this time. His gaze shifts to the wall, and I glance at his crotch. In the white glow of the exit sign, I watch his hand cupping his imprisoned hard-on through his jeans.
I smile but not to mock him since I’m treading on thin ice. “While on my knees, I would’ve brought you to desperate oblivion before you threw your orgasm down my throat or onto my tits.”
Greg swallows noisily between us, and his arm moves. I then hear the button pop and the whir of his zipper. Damn, I didn’t think I’d get this far. Maybe if I can’t get a regular job, I can do nights as a phone sex operator.
But it’s also backfiring on me because I soaked my underwear. Shifting, I see his hand sliding back and forth over his bare cock, and it freezes me for a few seconds. My pussy aches, still mourning Greg Rodwell’s dick, and now it’s next to me again. Without thinking it through much, but needing to prove a point and get out of here before I come in front of him, my hand goes to my open shirt, and I pull it down, exposing my cleavage and bra. I breathlessly tease, “Are these what you thought of in your room?”
With the music, I hear him groan as he stares at my chest, and I watch him jerking. Oh, God. I won’t make it to the bathroom—desperate times—to relieve my tension.
But I won’t be easy. No. I can’t trust Greg not to hurt me since he has nothing to lose. He’s made that clear. Greg can’t just guilt me into sex. I won’t be that girl.
Steeling Wilder nerve I wasn’t born with, I straighten and drop my hand, though my cheap shirt droops, leaving my boobs on display. I say, “And that’s the art of seduction, Rod.”
Greg stops stroking, his face a mix of confusion, embarrassment, rage, and lust. It’s a unique combination that’s powerful and hard to look away from as it feeds my throbbing pussy. However, when I smirk before leaving to jill off in the bathroom. Greg grabs my shoulder, hooks my shirt, which catches me off guard, and I slouch. The next thing I see is his hand jerking his hard cock with stuttered panting as he spurts a flood of hot cum over my tits.
His deep groans punctuate each spasm as I squeal, jumping away from him, shocked and on the verge of my own orgasm.
“And that’s how you fulfill a wet dream,” Greg sneers with a glare, but his gaze falls to my chest as he catches his breath, still holding his dribbling cock.

“Greg, go home. You don’t need to be here.”
I pull out my phone. “Why not?” I scroll through my numbers and hold up my phone, showing him her number before blocking her. “I guess I’m free to date now.”
“Can I call your mother to pick you up?”
I shoot him an irritated frown as I scroll more. “I’m fine. Better than I’ve felt in a long time.”
“No, you’re not fine.”
I text Kleo, asking her to stop by, and then roll my eyes at Vaughn. “I’ll be fine after work, for sure.” I then find a hotel nearby and reserve a room for tonight and tomorrow. Regardless of how the rest of the night goes with Kleo, I can’t go home to my mother tonight. It’s a good thing that I have a bag full of clothes and other shit I’ll need.
Amos asks, “What are you doing?”
“Hotel. I mean, I don’t know if Kleo has a roommate. Now we can be alone.”
Crossing his arms, Amos pleads, “Don’t, Greg. You can’t do this tonight.”
“I’m positive I’ll get it up, if that’s what you’re worried about, perv.”
“It most certainly is not.”
I shove my phone back into my ass pocket and Amos quietly says, “You love each other. This can’t be over. Don’t let it be.”
“I tried! Why in the hell do I want to be with someone who doesn’t want me?” My voice cracks, and I clear my throat. “She never really wanted me! Shit, I’m such a stooge.”
“You’re not.”
“Fuck this.”
I return to the bar as Amos yells after me. She’s moved on, and so will I. Heading to the jukebox, I play Mr. Brightside by The Killers and then Nine Inch Nails’ The Hand That Feeds. Feel-good songs.
When I go behind the bar, Harold scoffs, “Jesus, Rodwell. You can’t stay in one place. I’m doing all the work out here while you’re back there jerking it.”
I squeeze my hand to maintain my buoyancy. “Just making the rounds.”
“Hi there,” a voice says from the end of the bar. I look to see Kleo smiling. My stomach aches, but I hand Damian another bottle of Bud and walk over to her with a numb smile.
“That was fast.”
“I was only down the road at my brother’s apartment.” I notice her floral shirt and minimal makeup. She’s not bad-looking at all, but she doesn’t do anything for me. She’s the type I’d fix up for a friend if I had any.
“Oh. Do you want a drink? I mean, you’re here.”
She laughs. “Um, sure. Surprise me.”
I go to the cooler and remove a Bud and hand it to her.” Zero points for creativity tonight.
“Thanks.” Kleo smiles, and it’s pretty, but it hurts to notice that.
“I’m confused why you want me here. You said you’re taken, but in the text you only said she’s gone. Is that true?”
I wave my hand. “Yep. She left. Turns out I wasn’t that into her.”
Kleo’s smile is uncertain before she sips her beer. As I check for refills, Harold hooks my arm and pulls me away. “What the hell is going on with you? I just heard you with that broad.”
I shrug him off as I roll my eyes and walk away. On the way back to Kleo, I grab a bottle of tequila and two shot glasses. I pour them and shove one to her. I hold up my shot glass and say, “To new beginnings.” Before she can even grab her glass, I down mine.
She asks, “No salt and lime?”
“Those are for pussies,” I choke out, making her laugh.
“I really can’t drink tequila. It’s gross to me.”
I shrug. “Okay.” I down hers and slam the glass on the counter. “What do ya want, then?”
“I like rum.”
I make a face. “Gross.”
Candi stops at the bar to give us her order, and as I lean closer to hear her, she grabs my T-shirt. “What the fuck are you doing with her?”
“Picking out our China pattern. Christ Almighty, Candi.” I pull her fingers off my shirt to fill Candi’s order, and I return to the counter behind me to grab a bottle and another glass.
I set it down in front of Kleo as I pour and say, “Thanks for coming here.”
Kleo kind of studies me. “It looks like you need a friend.”
I laugh. “Who doesn’t?”
I pour more tequila into the shot glasses and down those since I’m on a roll. I refill another glass for Zeke, a construction worker who once set fire to his ex-wife’s car. I can’t say I blame him.
Kleo says, “You’ll be too drunk to do your job or to drive home.”
“I’ll get an Uber. I have a hotel room tonight.”
“Oh? I can always give you a ride. I’m not really drinking much.”
“You’d want to hang around until two in the morning?”
“I can always come back. I don’t work tomorrow.”
“What do you do, anyway?”
“I’m a nurse.”
“Jesus. You’re smart, then.”
She laughs. “I try to be.”
I laugh as I glance toward the other end of the room, where I see a familiar cocky grin and a roving eye. He stops Candi, who looks disgusted.
My fake grin falls, and my real simmering fury boils. Candi returns to the bar as I pretend not to care he’s here. But inside, I’m a hurricane spawning tornadoes.
Candi stands at the counter, watching him while I go to the storage cabinet in the corner.
Kleo asks, “What’s with the baseball bat?”

Unhinged Excerpt
I leave the storage room and toss my T-shirt onto a shelf in the locker room. Since it’s a slow night, the kitchen will be empty, so I go there without a shirt, knowing Amos has stupid spares from the name change in one of the bottom cabinets. But when I enter the kitchen, I stop in my tracks.
“Dad?”
Leaning against the counter like James Bond at a casino, he arches a dark blond eyebrow at me from behind his glasses. “Hey there. How’d you lose your shirt?”
“I spilled beer on it.”
“Isn’t that a nightly occurrence?”
“No. What are you doing here?” I continue to the cabinet because now this is awkward.
As I open and close cabinets with impatient thuds, he asks, “So, the storage room?”
“What about it?”
“I mean, after that dance number you did, I had some thoughts.”
Into an open cabinet, I mutter, “Shit.”
“I came in here to talk to you, but then you and your dance partner disappeared into the storage room. I waited for you but then heard a man and a woman moaning in there about ten minutes ago.”
I pull out a shirt and stand, not having a response except, “Okay.”
He shakes his head toward the counter and then peers up at me as I yank the shirt down. It’s a little big, but that’s better than too small. Dad purses his lips and glances toward the storage room. “I know what you were doing with her.”
I shrug and again mumble, “Okay. I’m not a virgin.” But I’m pretty close to it, and I fuck like one.
“Well, I didn’t think you were. That’s all you’ll say about it?”
“What more do you want me to say?”
He looks around to no one in the kitchen before his exasperated look returns to me. “I don’t understand. You just had sex with one of the waitresses?”
“I guess Mom didn’t tell you everything. And I told her I’d break the news to you. I’ve just been busy.
He sighs. “I know her name. What else? No one even knew you were dating a woman exclusively.”
“Because…” I can’t fall for it again.
The door swings open, and she stops short when she sees us talking. My dad assesses her, and I nod toward him. “This is my dad, Dr. Tab Rodwell.”
Her face lights up with a pretty smile, and she holds out her hand to him. “Hi, I’m… Uh…”
My dad’s face lights up. “Oh. Oh! You’re her.”
I walk over and hang my arm over her shoulders. Dad grins and offers his hand, which she takes. “It’s great to meet you.” He releases her hand and stares at with wide eyes. “Wow. So, you’re the one who stole my son’s heart?” Dad looks blown away like he can’t believe I scored her. Christ. But I really didn’t. It’s all a lie.
She’s almost shy when she quietly replies, “He stole mine first, so now we’re even.”
That answer is unexpected and renders me fucking speechless. I lean over and kiss the side of her head as my mind races on ten different highways.

Are you ready for Unhinged?
Monty pulls out a T-shirt from a box and tosses it to me. “Wear this for the first few weeks of our name change.”
I toss it back and it lands on the counter. “No.”
He again throws it at me but I let it land on the floor. “Rodwell, why must you be difficult? Can’t you just wear the shirt?”
“Not when the name is so stupid. I’d rather have feline leukemia.”
Monty scowls at me. “Why do you say shit like that?”
“Because I just say out loud what most people are thinking?”
“Must I remind you that your aunt owns this bar?”
“Must I remind you that your sister works at a Hooters?”
Through the back door to the kitchen, Vaughn walks in with her. Her blonde hair is in a mini ponytail and her pink lipstick is brighter than yesterday. She’s wearing a looser version of the train wreck T-shirt, so her tits are hidden.
Taking off her coat, she glances at me but then looks away. I then watch her go to the locker room. Her ass looks good in a short black denim skirt. Goddamn, her legs. I want to reach my hand up there and—
“Is there something that interests you, Greg?” Amos asks.
“No,” I answer way too fast and I roll my eyes at myself. As I push through the door, I hear them laughing. What the hell is so damn funny?
I notice her joining Candi. I watch her ass and wonder what it’d be like to fuck her there. Has she ever done anal with a guy?
She follows Candi to a table and they giggle. The way she moves is like watching a tide pool swirling sand. It’s mesmerizing. I don’t even just stare at her ass. My eyes are all over her legs, tits, and smile, which she does a lot. People love her.
Damian, a middle school science teacher who was two years ahead of me in school, nods behind him as he pushes his glass toward me. “You got a thing for the new girl?”
I pick it up with a dubious frown. “No.” Again, way too fast. I have no chill.

Unscrewed is the start of a new series, but you'll achieve maximum shock and awe if the Wild Sparks Series and The Keys to Jericho are read first.

Pre-order Unhinged for 0.99!

Love and hate collide when Greg Rodwell spills his secrets to two women, torching all three worlds.
Yeah, I did it. In pouring out my heart to my married best friend, fate handed me an opening along with my unzipped fly, and I flung it against a wall before setting it on fire. What I did… I should regret it, but the only lesson I learned was I should’ve done it sooner. Still, I know this will haunt Hadley and me forever.
On the other hand, living with Simone’s betrayal—mocking me and setting me up just like they did to me over a decade ago—I’m a live wire of animosity. My darkness was never supposed to see the light of day, but she gift-wrapped it for the world to tear open. She trashed our friendship. I hope that fact haunts her forever too.
Ditching Richmond, that life-changing night, and both chicks, I try to restart or take a breather—something my sister never had before she died. Unfortunately, and uninvited, I’m not the only passenger on this displeasure cruise. My recent screw-up is a roadblock in every way imaginable until I discover her weakness: guilt. I grab on to that sucker because to ease her conscience, she wants to make it right with me. Which she will. To rebuild my life, I need a tour guide to show me the ropes, in a bedroom and with a woman. While I lack the experience, she’s skilled in that department. And before I cut her loose, she’ll make me one too. She owes me. Restraint be damned.
Unscrewed is the start of a new series, but you'll achieve maximum shock and awe if the Wild Sparks Series and The Keys to Jericho are read first.

REBEL ROOK IS AVAILABLE!

Dylan McGrath, a rookie cop with something to prove and everything to lose.
Dumped. There, I said it. The day after my twenty-first birthday, my girlfriend of two years ditched me in front of an audience. Drowning my sorrows in a park, a cop throws me into the back of a cruiser. It’s not my first ride or my greatest achievement, angering legendary law enforcement swarming my family tree, but who cares? Smelling fresh blood, self-righteous, law-abiding family and friends gang up on me, drawing a line in the sand. Doing the unthinkable yet inevitable, we strike a deal, but not without a fight.
Graduating from the police academy, I clash with field training officers who hand me off faster than a live grenade. Though my job is to enforce laws, I love to break the rules and refuse to follow any leader. On the verge of embarrassing the revered Malones again, I’m reassigned to a tough sergeant who hates me for existing on her dime.
Vowing to nail training, a gorgeous waitress blows that notion to smithereens. Distrusting the police, Natalia Welch wants nothing to do with me. Because of her horrific past, I'm told to steer clear or fail training. But I can't, and Natalia and I grow closer until she freaks out about our slight age difference. However, the more she avoids me, the more we crave each other, leading to a passionate explosion that could end my career or her life.
Ren Alexander’s Rebel Rook is a provocative, riveting, and poignant contemporary romance written in K. Bromberg’s Everyday Heroes Worlds project.

Rebel Rook Cover Reveal
It’s cover reveal day for my eighth novel but the first in the Everyday Heroes World and releases March 25th! The countdown is on (deep breaths, deep breaths)! Rebel Rook is about rookie cop Dylan McGrath, who comes to you from the fifth book in my Wild Sparks Series, which takes place before Rebel Rook. Here’s Rebel Rook’s blurb:
Dylan McGrath, a rookie cop with something to prove and everything to lose.
Dumped. There, I said it. The day after my twenty-first birthday, my girlfriend of two years ditched me in front of an audience. Drowning my sorrows in a park, a cop throws me into the back of a cruiser. Though my job is to enforce laws, I love to break the rules and refuse to follow any leader. On the verge of embarrassing the revered Malones again, I’m reassigned to the Dragon, a tough sergeant who hates me for existing on her dime.
Vowing to nail training, a gorgeous waitress blows that notion to smithereens. Distrusting the police, Natalia Welch wants nothing to do with me. Because of her horrific past, I'm told to steer clear or fail training. But I can't, and Natalia and I grow closer until she freaks out about our small age difference. However, the more she avoids me, the more we crave each other, leading to a passionate explosion that could end my career or her life.
