Wow. The Neighbourhood was great on Letterman tonight, singing "Afraid." I loved how they were shot in black/white, as they usually are. It's their trademark. Every time I hear one of their songs, I run the gamut of emotions. Each song does something different to me, whether it be happiness, loneliness, sadness, confusion or longing. That band is so personal for me because I discovered them while writing my first book. Most of the drama in "Chasing" was derived from the emotions I felt when I listened to them. Their songs' lyrics are deeply meaningful and Jesse's voice is full of raw angst, which drove my story. They have a special place in my heart.
Awesome performance!
