I was born and raised in New York, but spent summers and school breaks with my father and his family in Tarpon Springs, Florida, a small Greek fishing community on the Gulf Coast. As the child of divorced parents, I was alone quite a bit, so I read... a lot.

I went to Vassar College and then grad school at NYU's Tisch School of the Arts. Now I live in New York's Hudson Valley and work as a freelance writer.

Andrea Pyros I find that I don’t have writer’s block as much as I allow myself to get distracted and stop working. If I’m sitting down and focusing, something will…moreI find that I don’t have writer’s block as much as I allow myself to get distracted and stop working. If I’m sitting down and focusing, something will come out. Maybe it will be lousy, but hey, at least I’m writing. So to deal with writer’s block, I use this great app called AntiSocial and use it to force myself off of Facebook, Twttier, etc. (less)
