Seeding Rainbows
At the beginning of February, we celebrate Imbolc or St. Brigid’s Day. While we were born and raised in America, our household has a good deal of ties to the United Kingdom and Ireland; our heritage (from different areas of life and along different family trees) leads to there. When it comes to religion, my spouse celebrates only the commercial and family transitions of holidays, while I have a tendency to lean a little bit more into the spiritual traditions. Having been raised Roman Catholic, I...

Dear Younger Self
Your first written story was in 1993. You were seven and your mind was full of magic and desire. You likely remember that time better than I do now at nearly 40 (I’m sure you shuddered at that age. Nearly forty! How old! But I promise it isn’t as old as you think, but that’s another discussion for another day). You wanted your cat Nicki to have babies so badly, despite that she was fixed, so you made it real by writing a story. You were a princess, because princesses had fancy dresses and magic,...

Tomorrow, I am Published
When I received my publishing deal it was 17 months ago. The day my book would officially publish felt like an eternity. I couldn’t fathom the year 2025, much less the day my book was officially out in the world. It’s a weird conglomeration of having a baby and planning a wedding. You get to a point where the book’s released after months (years) of planning and even if something were to go wrong, it just happens and there’s not much that can be done. But also there’s this slight terror of releas...

TARNISHED is Almost Here
We’re less than two weeks from the publication of TARNISHED and this feels similar to waiting for my wedding. All the work is done. Now it’s just a matter passing time until this life-changing day happens.
New Year’s Eve came and went with quiet revelry. We celebrate at 7 pm (in line with London) so our child can do a countdown. After he was in bed, we spent time playing a power washing simulator–all very exciting stuff. But as 2025 stepped into place I realized “this is my debut year” with a...

The Death of a Year
Happy Yuletide!
I adore autumn, as I’ve said before and it’s probably quite apparent based on all the content I’ve shared over the years, but I’ve also come to slowly adore winter in its own right. For many years, I’ve dreaded winter due to my seasonal affective disorder becoming much more pronounced with the lack of sunlight. But relocating back to New York where winter is an accepted (if slightly grumbled about) season and not one that is feared helped me incredibly. My community is so in t...

Preorders are Live!
Hello, happy travelers!
We’re rushing away from the bright autumn days where trees are on fire and straight into stick season with gray skies and long shadows. The sound of bells are on the horizon and I’m beginning to desire cozy blankets, hot drinks, and books to read. It helps that we got our first snow–a couple inches! This is the time of year my TBR grows with exceeding speed as I crave book purchases the most because what better paring to the cozy atmosphere than escaping into a book?

Three Month Countdown
October is a flourish of bright colors and our weather is pristine. From crispy, frosty mornings, to warm and sunny afternoons, and beautiful clear nights where the skies have given us repeated shows–we have been so very lucky to have such a perfect autumn. We’ve had an abundance of activities beyond the writing world I’ll detail in my seasonal blog post, but I truly wanted to post today for one thing in particular:
there is only three months until Tarnished‘s release! When I got my book d...

TARNISHED: Cover Reveal
Earlier this year I was tasked with coming up with the dream cover of Tarnished. I had a million ideas but ultimately, who was I to design a cover? I didn’t know what would work but I had a loose idea of what I would like to see. So I sat down with Canva on a Saturday morning and pieced together images indicating my dream.

It was sent off to the cover designer my publisher chose and I sat back waiting impatiently to hear if my idea was complete idiocy and if the designer felt I was overdoi...

Greeting Autumn
Earlier this month I made a post with three major points:
I will be updating more frequently going forward with hope of having shorter posts between my lengthier seasonal updates. The posts in between will generally pertain to announcements for my books, but I do not intend to post very often so don’t worry about your inboxes!Street Team applications for Tarnished are now available! If you’re interested in getting early access to an advanced reader’s copy (ARC) of Tarnished and promote t...September 3, 2024
Street Team and ARC Links are Live!
Hello dear hearts!
I promised some time ago I would only update at the start of each season, and yet I made that statement never having published a book before. I’ll be honest: this is the most wild time in my life. An experience that is comparable to writing my thesis for my master’s degree whilst pregnant and working full time. It honestly, possibly, may be more chaotic than even that. I have so much to share and am faced with the choice of sticking to once-a-season posts where I write ver...
