Ealhswith, Wife of King Alfred the Great
Reblogged from The Freelance History Writer:
Ealhswith was a Mercian princess who married Alfred, Anglo-Saxon king of Wessex. She was never called queen and she never witnessed any charters during Alfred’s administration. But she was the mother of illustrious children and she is remembered as “the true and beloved lady of the English”.
We know very little about Ealhswith’s life. Alfred’s contemporary biographer, Bishop Asser doesn’t even name her.

A Footnote in History
Perhaps he was a footnote in history, there was no one left to ask, this veteran of a near forgotten war, now bought to life only in films and sometimes books, but lived by him back when his legs stilled moved, and crawled without complaint through this same undergrowth.
Nearing his centenary, and the last of the old pals, he sat upon his chair with blanket round his limbs and watched the wind play with the grass and leaves.
The Moment that Changed His Life by Christian Tanner
Reblogged from weirdshortstoriesbychristian:
I chose to mostly write about this single moment in Samuel’s life because everything before this moment means nothing. It’s the kind of moment that would silence a crowded room. The kind of moment that will make everyone curiously gaze at each other with nothing but guilt in their eyes; waiting for the first person to speak. The moment that changed his life.

My Journey with Job ~ Who then, is my Friend?
Reblogged from Victoria Adams' Reading Alcove:
My growing network is quite aware that I am working on a second book. One that is far closer to the writings my husband encouraged for so many years. The years, that is, before dementia took him away from me. He has a Ph.D. in philosophy and a Masters or two in math and science. He devoted much of his life learning how we think so that he could teach machines how to think.

My other hobby
Reblogged from Brewer's Cauldron:
I've mentioned one of hobbies already - herb gardening. My other hobby is photography. For a long time - before I turned to writing - I thought I wanted to be a professional photographer complete with a studio and clients and lots of fancy equipment. I decided that I prefer to make pictures for me instead of trying to make pictures to please anyone else.
A little bit about Stacey…
Quantum Reality
Reblogged from Brewer's Cauldron:
So for my Q post for the Blogging from A to Z Challenge, I have invited my friend Victoria Adams of Victoria's Reading Alcove to help me out.
I suggested a topic of "Quantum Magic" because the more I learn about quantum science, the more I see that it is a kind of magic.
Victoria did me one better and gave me a post on quantum science and it's connection to the nature of reality.
