New Cover for ANNA!
I’ve been a little MIA on the writing front, but I’ve been actively working on the follow-up to Anna, and I’m getting pretty close to be done with my draft. That’s the draft before the editor receives it. Anna is also in the process of being translated to Chinese, so I hope to enter a new market very soon!
Slowly, a new cover for Anna has been rolled out, along with an updated Amazon version of the book. At some point, a couple strange errors appeared in my manuscript on Amazon (Smashwords wa...

Review: The Raven Boys (Audiobook)

The Raven Boys by Maggie Stiefvater
After reading a series of young adult books, either about royals or angels, I wanted to go a different route with my next audiobook selection. This month, I listened to the paranormal novel The Raven Boys by Maggie Stiefvater. I’ll be honest and tell you I chose her book after I read an interview with her and Cassandra Clare about fans who really don’t understand the borders between the writer and the public. She has some seriously devoted readers, some who...

Review: Hidden Wings Series (Audiobook)

Hidden Wings Series by Cameo Renae
It’s been a while since I’ve found a book series that I couldn’t put down or, in this case, stop listening to. I try to write an audiobook review at least once a month, but I got so absorbed in the Hidden Wings Series by Cameo Renae that I listened to the whole series straight through. The series consists of:
Hidden Wings Broken Wings CR Tethered Wings" target="_blank"Tethered Wings Gilded Wings Descent (A novella that comes before hidden wings)I don’t wa...

A Review of the PUR Advanced Faucet Water Filter

PUR Advanced Faucet Water Filter Box
Do you have questionable water quality in your home or workplace, or just don’t like the taste of the water that comes out of the tap? You may be looking for an affordable option for making the water easier to drink. Water jugs with filters have been around for a long time, but they take up space in your fridge. The better alternative is a filter that fits right onto the faucet. The PUR Advanced Faucet Water Filter is one such product buyers can choose.

A Review of eClincher Social Media Manager
Recently, I was asked to try out the new social media tool from eClincher. I agreed, because I have yet to find the perfect tool for scheduling social media updates, and I’m always trying out new things in hopes something will make life easier (aren’t we all?). I’ve been at this for 7 years. In the past, I’ve used Hootsuite off and on, and have tested out similar tools with few warranting a move, one of those being Edgar. So, I’d like to think that I have a good amount of experience to speak...

Sea Turtle Graduation Cake
This weekend was my sister’s college graduation. As a present, my mother and I made her a cake. Her degree is in biology and she volunteers at the local sea turtle hospital, so it seemed fitting to make her a sea turtle themed graduation cake. The pictures below show a little bit of how I pieced it all together.
I started out by molding two sea turtles out of Rice Krispies. I then colored white fondant with copper Wilton gel icing coloring. I rolled it out until it was 1/8″ thick and covered...

Review: The Jewel (Audiobook)

The Jewel by Amy Ewing
If you’re enjoying the royal-filled dystopian type novels that seem to be the trend in Young Adult nowadays, you will likely enjoy The JewelThe Jewel by Amy Ewing. Before purchasing this audiobook, I looked at it a few times. Honestly, I kind of cringed at the idea of reading about teenage girls experiencing pregnancy. Call me a square, if you so please. I think it’s the fact that I’m a mother now and view pregnancy as an extremely personal and stressful experience tha...

Review: Red Queen (Audiobook)

Red Queen by Victoria Aveyard
Are you looking for a book to fill the void left by The Selection Series? Then, you want to give Victoria Aveyard’s Red%20QueenRed Queen a try. This dystopian young adult novel has many of the same elements as The Selection – a poor girl who sacrifices herself to help her poor family, a civilization divided, a rebellion that she soon finds herself at the middle of, two handsome men who want her attention, and a prince (two actually) in need of a mate. Heck, even...

Review: Firefight (Audiobook)

Firefight by Brandon Sanderson
After listening to Brandon Sanderson’s Steelheart: Reckoners, Book 1 and being pleasantly surprised, I had to listen to Firefight, the second in the series. Was it as good as the first book?
First, here’s the synopsis from Amazon:
Brandon Sanderson, the number one New York Times best-selling author of Words of Radiance, co-author of Robert Jordan’s Wheel of Time series, and creator of the internationally best-selling Mistborn Trilogy, presents the second book in...
