Can You Receive?

The universe is the essence of duality. To be a good giver, you must be a good receiver. And to be a good lover, you must be good at being loved . Stacey Herera

How are you at receiving?

How are you at giving?

How are you at loving?

How are you at being loved?

Some of us are conditioned to be the giver, we feel great when we give
we feel wanted when people look to us for advice, guidance, love, and on and on and on

Can you remember how great you feel when people thank you for doing something that you either really wanted to do or thought nothing of it?
This is such a powerful feeling.

Receiving is the flip side of giving
If we cannot receive it really is more challenging to give with little intention.

When I get a compliment now I save the response to thank you. No explanation, no rationale, no justification. Before I would add something to the thank you.

Thank you is sufficient. It signifies that you have accepted the compliment, the gift, the intention.

It starts the process of both giving and receiving.

give it a go!

Think about how you are giving and receiving, and how you respond to it!

Peace

What is going on in your Life Emotionally?

Louise Hay says that shoulder problems are from carrying the weight of the world on your shoulders. She says shoulders “represent our ability to carry out experiences in life joyously. We make life a burden by our attitude.” Is the financial or emotional burden all on your shoulders and you feel responsible, fearful and inadequate? That wear and tear will show up in your shoulders. Think about your last injury. What was going on emotionally at home, in your job, for you at that time? East House Natural Health

My shoulder is now healing. I have been following the doctor's instructions, taking it easy and not rushing the process.
Louise Hay's work has been important on my journey, her philosophies on affirmations, on healing ourselves through our thoughts and letting go of the past. During my healing process I decided to reacquaint myself with Louise's work. I came across the theory that my shoulder problems are determined by our attitude
I must admit, I have been feeling this way, how amazing are our bodies and our minds that we can heal them by our thoughts and feelings.
I give thanks for all the teachers on my journey
I now release the feeling of any burdens and move forward with a feeling of gratitude knowing that all things are lessons that God will have us learn

Peace

Initiate the Change

There’s accommodating and then there’s adapting to the world we live in. We all have to accommodate people around us and they do the same for us. It’s a give-and-take world we live in. But adapting to negativity within us or in our environment means deciding we can live with something negative rather than take action to initiate a positive change. Each time we adapt to something negative within us or around us, we pay a price Carolyn Myss

I always remember a story from a lovely lady I met on the journey. She was very ill at the time, her attitude was always positive. I always thought, every time we spoke, that I would have loved to have spent more time with her as our talks were usually quite insightful. I knew it would be a matter of time before she transitioned. One day I worked up the courage to ask her about her condition, she said that she had some pain and discomfort but never went to the doctor to check it out, she just learned to live with pain!

She learned to live with the pain!

We do not ever have to learn to live with pain especially when we can do something about it.
Living with pain is a choice!

We must find the courage to make another choice
We must believe that we deserve more
We must pay attention to the pain as it is giving us a message, a lesson, a sign, we don't have to live there, we don't have to live with the pain
We must know that, then act like we know

Peace

Stay in Your Power

At all times, we have the right and the freedom to determine what is important in our lives. We also have the freedom to focus our time, energy, and efforts on those things.

The challenge is that far too often we do not take the time to determine what is important. Then we spend a majority of our life and time doing what we think we must do, have to do, need to do . Iyanla

Someone told me that they were intimidated by a friend of mine, I must admit I was a tad bit shocked. I wanted to find out more as to why someone who can be considered her contemporary would intimidate her. So I asked after saying - never let anyone intimidate you! She responded that it was the job that the person held. Oh dear me, someone's position would intimidate you, and you knew the person before they had that job?
I was quite amazed!
We get to chose who and what we place importance on
We may choose this deliberately or unconsciously, the beauty about life is that it always gives us feedback through how we live
If the choice is unconscious it will still reflect through our lives.
We get to choose what we focus on
Declaring intimidation and helplessness is giving away our power.
Spend some time in your own power, making your own choices, knowing exactly what is important to you and your life will reflect that!

Peace

Till The Soil

Honestly, without a lot of fluffy talk, it is time for you to know and to express the fullness and the richness of how wonderful, of how special, you are. NDWWe, all of us, are magnificent beings, we are born that way, believe it or not. Our magnificence is always there, it never leaves us despite poor decisions and choices, or circumstances and setbacks. I liken it to seeds in the right soil. If the soil and the conditions are conducive the plant will grow. The fruits will bear. There are some plants that seem to be withered, worn and ready to die, yet with some water and TLC they spring up and thriveThere are some with brown leaves that really ought to be green, stalks where buds are supposed to be - with a shower of rain a difference happensThe soil is important, the fertiliser is importantOur friends, family, health and choices are our soil and fertiliser. With the right combination our magnificence shines through.I keep remembering that when I am veering off course, when I encounter others who have also forgotten their own magnificence!Let us always rememberTill the soil! Root out the weeds! Spread the Love!
Peace

Why You Are Not Getting What You Want

Yesterday the celebration of the Bodaciousness started
Six of the young ladies of the NiNa Programme had an audience with our country's first female President, up close and personal
It was a bit of a surreal moment sitting with these young ladies next to the President of the country chatting away.
I want to thank the Office of the President for facilitating this memorable day and wish her the best for the future.

I also want to share one of the best blogs of my week - Maxi McCoy

I really hate not getting what I want. And I’m the queen of letting desire get in the way of intuitive knowing.

The amount of times I’ve known something was bad for me, but my brain decided I wanted it (for any number of reasons)…is countless. I’ve chased after big dreams that weren’t aligned but were desired. I’ve been laser-focused on making strides that weren’t rooted in what really mattered. I’ve chased after people that sucked (and some that were great but sucked for me). I’ve gone after huge opportunities that I knew would look and sound good, but were completely off when it came down to why I’m here.

Untangling the tentacles of desire is a complicated and difficult thing. The process will require you to learn the hard way. It will cause some blow ups in your life. It will break your heart. It will shake your confidence. It will make you wonder if you can even be trusted with what it is that you want. It will push you to the edge, and when you get there, you’ll realize why you didn’t get what you wanted. No matter how badly you wanted it. No matter how hard you worked for it. No matter how much energy you gave it.

You’re not getting what you want, because you’re getting something better.

You’re not getting what you want, because you ignored the whispers.

You’re not getting what you want, because the right thing is coming.

You’re not getting what you want, because it was the only path to learn the lessons you needed to learn.

You’re not getting what you want, because you’re getting what you need – To evolve. To know your power. To learn yourself. To understand your potential.

What you’ll find when you don’t get what you want is that when you stop your initial fighting, sulking, and wallowing in your own bullshit puddle of why not me, you have an opportunity to shed the stories you layered onto the situation you were gunning for – why it was right, why it was meant to be, why it was for you, why it would all work out perfectly, why your future depended on it – to see all the red flags that you sprayed neon pink. You’ll get to see the information that was there all along. You’ll get to remember the whispers you heard and ignored.

And when you see all of that, you remember that you CAN trust yourself. Because that soft and intuitive and wise you is always there. She’s always accessible. And you get to choose whether you listen to her or not.

Sometimes we let desire get in the way of that wisdom, which is OK. And eventually we’ll learn to let that centered and knowing voice lead, instead of shoving it back behind the megaphone of desire.

Bodacious Girls

Go for the Joy - Iyanla Vanzant

Plans are well away with the Bodacious Girl Gala. A celebration of bodaciousness which all began as an idea in my mind, it was shared with some wonderful people. The idea has morphed itself into something beautiful.
The intention is to to celebrate the young ladies that I have met on the journey, the ones who have taught me about showing up, about non judgement, about compassion, about patience!
The intention to highlight to others and to remember also that it takes a village.
The intention is  be of service to someone in someway
The intention is for the young ladies to celebrate themselves and their achievements
The intention is to live our best lives
The intentions is to share lessons on the Journey
Come celebrate with us!

All Needs Met

"never underestimate and be willing to invest in the power of your mind. That’s the ticket to anything and everything, because that’s what’s going to lead to your experiences. That’s what’s going to build you character. That’s what’s going to resolve your issues and challenges. That’s what’s going to transmute and change your pathology. Don’t underestimate the power of your mind and be willing to invest in the power of each and every thought that you have. ” Iyanla Vanzant

I have been reading up on thought patterns, and how powerful our minds are. From a thought comes an action and from the action results the experience. It fascinated me that simply by paying attention to what I think I can make simple adjustments to shift the experiences in my life. Of course there are things that are way out of our control, but what is within our control is our response the situations, as well as, the thoughts about the situation.

What do you think about money?
What do you think about love?
What do you think about your purpose?
What do you think about the world?

Every thought, every belief may be shaped by your experiences, by your family life, by your religion. What happens is that we look to validate our beliefs, and what we seek we find.

Since January began, I felt helpless, subconsciously, I felt helpless because I did not get paid for the jobs that I completed, when I called and asked about the debt, I was told that there would be a huge deduction based on the contract. I was pissed off, I knew they were right, but I had committed bills. I felt even more helpless, the spiral continued until my thoughts showed up in my experience, I woke up and I could not help myself, I could not move! I got shit scared, what is really happening here?
I could not move my left hand.
My thoughts manifested itself in - I could not support myself
It is a painful wake up call, and through the process of healing which involves doctors, physio and rest I have to keep reminding myself that all my needs are met.
All Needs Met
Peace

The Little Things

Let us not look back in anger or forward in fear, but around in awareness.” ~ James Thurber

Today my whole aim is to pay attention to my surroundings and what I am doing, to taste my food, to enjoy the warmth of the sunshine, to look at the flowers blooming on the porch, to smell the grass
The little things are the big things.
When I neglect or forget the little things big things happen to remind me to get back to them
So, today I remind myself to be aware, to be grateful, to be mindful of all the little things that make life so big!

My top 5 Little Things

1. Fresh Watermelon
2. The smell of newly cut grass
3. Sunrise
4. Birds around the flowers on the porch
5. Silence

What are your little things?
Peace
