Liam Davis and the Raven
Omg I adored this.
Liam Davis & The Raven starts out very unassuming and a bit weird, but very soon I was thoroughly charmed by it.
Love and romance? I dont know how I feel about that.
But Im about to find out.
Jock. Big-boned. Broad shoulders. Tall. Runs fingers through hair as though hes attractive and knows it. Walks into party like he has all the time in the world, slow but oddly graceful. Laugh lines around the mouth, a deep crack in his skin where a dimple might be.
Thats how I described...

That's Not What Happened by Kody Keplinger
That was intense. Then again, Im not sure what else I expected from a book about the survivor of a school shooting who can no longer live with the lies told about her now dead best friend.
Six survived to tell the story, but who knows the truth? The next hotly anticipated YA novel from bestselling US sensation Kody Keplinger, author of THE DUFF and RUN.
Its been three years since the Virgil County High School Massacre. Three years since my best friend, Sarah, was killed in a bathroom stall...

ARC Review: The Extraordinaries by T.J. Klune
Well, dang. What an ending.
Some people are extraordinary. Some are just extra. TJ Klunes YA debut, The Extraordinaries, is a queer coming-of-age story about a fanboy with ADHD and the heroes he loves.
Nick Bell? Not extraordinary. But being the most popular fanfiction writer in the Extraordinaries fandom is a superpower, right?
After a chance encounter with Shadow Star, Nova Citys mightiest hero (and Nicks biggest crush), Nick sets out to make himself extraordinary. And hell do it with or...

ARC Review: The First Sister by Linden A. Lewis
*shoves face into pillow*
*muffled screaming*
I gotta take a minute because whew that was Amazing. Draining, because fuuuuUUUCK, but amazing.
Combining the social commentary of The Handmaids Tale with the white-knuckled thrills of Red Rising, this epic space opera follows a comfort woman as she claims her agency, a soldier questioning his allegiances, and a non-binary hero out to save the solar system.
First Sister has no name and no voice. As a priestess of the Sisterhood, she travels the stars...

Review: Gender Queer – A Memoir by Maia Kobabe
Oh wow, this hit me deep.
In 2014, Maia Kobabe, who uses e/em/eir pronouns, thought that a comic of reading statistics would be the last autobiographical comic e would ever write. At the time, it was the only thing e felt comfortable with strangers knowing about em. Now, Gender Queer is here. Maias intensely cathartic autobiography charts eir journey of self-identity, which includes the mortification and confusion of adolescent crushes, grappling with how to come out to family and society,...

Reading Challenge Tip #7
Hello all!
I am still here and well. I hope you are also managing and healthy. If you are like me, reading has been a big part of managing things. I have read a book a day on the days when I dont have to go to work (Im essential and my job is taking care of me in amazing ways). I read a book before I even get out of bed or eat for the first time for the day. I know, I am a bit extra. I have to finish the gay cowboy romance reading marathon somehow!
Today I wanted to give another tip on...
Love Lessons
Come here, Dustin repeated, his dark eyes serious.
Landon put his hands on his hips and stood his ground. Make me.
He knew he was acting like a petulant teenager, but this was Dustin. And with Dustin, he felt safe.
Please, he thought, please, please make me.
Landon doesnt need anyone. So hes confident that when he offers to train a nervous, sexy Dom, nothing will come of it.
But Dustin has some things to teach him, too. Because Dustin uses sign language and asks him questions that no one else...
