In the time that I’ve lived here, I’ve tried to get involved with Chicago charities both personally and professionally. Giving back to the city that has given me so much makes me feel that much more connected.
People ask me all the time, “What’...

How To Beat The January Blues

It’s that time of year already? The holidays are over, the twinkly lights are down, and we’ve all already cheated on our New Year’s resolutions in one way or another. There’s nothing romantic about the snow when you’re trying to dig your car out of a foot of it. Valentine’s Day is still out of sight, and spring is an even more distant dream. Jennifer used Bobbie’s character to talk about growing up and becoming an independent woman–one who isn’t afraid of taking chances or standing on her own...

Have you always thought about writing a book but aren’t sure how to go about getting it published?
Do you have the time and willingness to put in the considerable effort it takes to write and promote your book and yourself as an author?
Are you willing to accept constructive feedback/criticism fr...
Three Steps to Better Business Networking
Ask Those in Your Network What Matters Most to Them
It will be something different for each person. By asking this question, you and your network will get both passion and direction around more opportunities. For example, say your network partner shares that he wants to do more community work with a non-profit. You happen to know of a non-profit where you like to donate money and volunteer your time. What if you involved your colleague in the non-profit and, as a result, he ends up on the boar...
Free Twitter Tool for Those Still Needing Help
Check out the free and latest tool from my colleague, Andreas Ramos, to help you get a better handle on Twitter. I know you will appreciate his hard work! Here’s a personal letter from Andreas:
Friends,
This summer I realized many people–okay, most people–don’t fully understand Twitter. In fact, of the people who register for Twitter, more than 83 percent abandon it. They can’t figure out how to use it.Twitter.com itself can’t explain why anyone should use it.
So I wrote a short book about Twitt...
