Small Town Summer is Here!!
99 CENT RELEASE WEEK SALE!!!
Amazon | Barnes & Noble | iBooks | Kobo
It’s here! It’s here! The Small Town Summer Anthology is here!!
I’m so excited that Moonshine & Magnolias is out in the world this morning. This wasn’t the easiest story I’ve ever written, but I put my heart and soul into it, and I’m thrilled with how Zack and Shelby’s story turned out. I loved revisiting the Officers’ Ex-Wives Club world, I loved putting Anna and Jackson on the page again, but mostly, I loved finally figuring out Zack and Shelby and what made these two work so well together. I love Shelby’s sassy Southernness, and I always love smacking an unsuspecting military man with an unexpected love that turns his world on its axis.
Amazon | Barnes & Noble | iBooks | Kobo
Also thrilling? Advanced reviewers have been raving about the anthology!!!
“This is a hilarious, laugh out loud story about two people who are absolutely not looking for love.” – Carol on Goodreads
“Simply put, I devoured these 9 novellas.” – Amber on Goodreads
” From books that make you giggle, to books that make you just feel gushy and mushy inside with an, “Awwwww.” at the end. Then there are those books that require the loud laugh, where you laugh so much that your sides hurt.” – Dana on Goodreads
“Not hard to give this boxset a hearty 5-stars, it was… phenomenal… (E)ach of these novellas delivers richness and satisfaction in spades.” – Nicola on Goodreads

Munchkin Monday!
Happy Monday, y’all!! The sun is shining, the forecast is beautiful, and my children might actually have school all day, every day this week. Wouldn’t that be something?!?!
Anyway! On to the Munchkinisms of the week. Today, we’re going back in time to the fall of 2011, when Squeaker was still a wee baby and Munchkin was three and a half. Y’all ready? Let’s do it!
“Aw-wa-wa, mommy. That means French in goodbye.”
Adorable, and 100% his mother’s child.
Last night the Munchkin dreamed that “Daddy was the fireman and I was the waterman.” Heh. We have another dreamer in the house.
And his dreams have gotten longer and more complex since.
Munchkin was walking around quacking and asking for grapes. I told him to put his shoes on, and he said, “Moo-ooom! Ducks don’t wear shoes!”
He had a point. I’ve never seen a duck in shoes. Have you?
Munchkin cannot get out of the tub yet because he is not finished “brewing beer” through a plastic egg that just cracked open to hatch a slinky baby.
I give all credit for this one to SuperHubby, the master brewer in the house.
Words of wisdom from the Munchkin: “Don’t laugh when you have a burger in your hand in your Beeria.”
Side note: “Beeria” and “My Beeria” are a country Munchkin made up.
Munchkin just marched from the car all the way to his classroom howling, “Shake It For Me, Girl.” He’s having the best Monday of all his classmates, it appears.
And I had the most explaining to do to his teachers that day…
Munchkin’s dream:”There was a giraffe in My Beeria because I decided to capture him and then I shooted him. It was a big giraffe!”
See? My Beeria. And dreams. That child is definitely ours.
Squeaker just tried to crawl through the cat door. Then he went for his new favorite toy – the doingy door stopper.
Seriously, raise your hand – who loved doinging the door stopper when you were growing up? I did!! And now I tell my kids to knock it off.
Driving to school every day, we listen to the radio. Munchkin always asks, “Mommy, what’s this song?” Always. Today, though, a Kenny Chesney song came on the radio, and he says, “Mommy, is this ‘You and Tequila Make Babies’?”
Not any more, dude.
Hope y’all have a great week!!

Munchkin Monday!
Welcome to a new week, y’all! I’ll spare you the rah-rahs and we’ll go straight into the Munchkinisms. These came from my Facebook wall from the summer when Squeaker was one and Munchkin was four.
“Um, excuse me, Mommy. What is Magic Mike all about?”
Almost three years later, and I still have no intention of telling him. He and his brother and sister do their own booty dance often enough.
Squeaker has two sippy cups this morning. He’s currently clanking them together saying, “Shoosh,” which is his word for cheers.
I miss these days.
“Mommy, when you grow a new baby in your belly, can Miss Cookie have Squeaker?”
Ooh, Munchkin…
Munchkin has expanded his repertoire of hysterical-things-my-kid-does to include the Macarena.
I’m so proud.
Today’s turning into one of those “Don’t hit your brother with a hammer” kind of days. And this time, it’s the littler one getting in trouble.
It astonishes me that it took me four years to realize Squeaker is 65% mischief, 65% sweetheart, and 100% boy.
First, Munchkin steps into a pillowcase, potato-sack race style, shuffles across the room, looks done at the pillowcase he’s standing in, and says, “Wanna see the party?” Then, he decides to play hair doctor and says, “But first I have to put on my girl hair and be a girl,” and promptly swishes the pillowcase over his head so he looks like a nun in a sage green habit.
SuperHubby says, “I’m going to set up surveillance cameras in this house just to catch stuff like this.”
Then Munchkin went falsetto. “Oooh, I’m doing hair.”
SuperHubby says, “Why are you talking like that?”
Munchkin’s response? (Still falsetto, of course.) “I’m being a girl.”
And then, when SuperHubby and I started to lose it, he adds, still falsetto, “I’m going to set up cameras in this house.” Best unintentional mocking ever.
And we still wish we had cameras set up in this house. We could be a sitcom.
Munchkin: “Mommy, how about we change Squeaker’s name to Munchkin too.”
No ego with that one…
“Mommy, can I do your hair?” “Sure, Munchkin. Thanks.” “Mommy, can I please use scissors?”
And one day soon, it will be Buttercup. I just hope she asks first.
Have a wonderful week, y’all!

Whack-a-Doo Wednesday!
Hey, y’all! Welcome to Whack-a-Doo Wednesday, our weekly trip into the weirdness that is my dream diary. This week, we’re going back a few years to a time when SuperHubby had been deployed for a few months and Munchkin and I were living all by our lonesome. I’m not sure how that relates at all to my dreams, but there you have it. Let’s take a look, shall we?
I dreamed last night that Big Daddy had to put my horse down. Also dreamed some stuff about a bathroom, but you don’t need to know details. Trust me on this.
I don’t know who “Big Daddy” is, but I’m glad I didn’t go into more bathroom details.
I would like to thank my subconscious for my little naptime trip to Jamaica on a cruise ship with SuperHubby. Would also like to thank my subconscious that I won’t actually have to pay the long distance phone bill for letting that woman on the cruise ship call her husband for directions on how to wash the monkey and which boat to buy.
Now I’m really bummed that I didn’t write down how to wash a monkey.
Dream part 1: I stood in line at Subway for like an hour just to discover I was in line to buy a poster instead of a sandwich (that line was much shorter), then bought a poster, but they gave me the wrong one and all the workers disappeared when I asked for the poster I actually bought.
And then…
Dream part 2: The poster workers were replaced with contract killer/videographers who were planning to take out the cops on camera, and since my boyfriend was one of the cops, I had to go all ninja on their you-know-whats with a big knife while we were climbing a hill. I popped in everywhere the cops were under seige and helped take down Betty White. Woke up before my boyfriend could give me my reward.
Y’all… I just… I’m rolling. Seriously. I wish I knew what Betty White ever did to me!
I dreamed last night that we went to Disney on Ice, and the woman sitting next to me did my hair and then propositioned me. Then I dreamed I was a teenager and my exboyfriend was out of jail and looking for me to kill me, so I had to cut my hair and drive a minivan that morphed into a bike to avoid him, even though I wasn’t entirely sure what he looked like.
It seems I have a problem with faces. I’ve noticed a pattern of not remembering faces in my dreams. That has to mean something, right?
I dreamed last night that I went to Scrapbook Class in Jimmy Palmer’s morgue, then Abby put him back together, and then we all went to the river to rub logs into canoes.
Bonus NCIS dream! Woot!
And that’s all for this week, folks! Have a great Wednesday!

Munchkin Monday!
Oh, y’all, do I have a treat for you today. Munchkin Monday, the 2.5-year-old Munchkin edition. This kid… Here. I’ll just let you see what he was up to all those years ago.
Munchkin quote of the day: “Mommy, you have three choices. You can play play-doh with me, or you can go to timeout.”
I’m pretty sure I played Play-Doh.
I just freaked myself out the second time today by walking into the Munchkin’s room and seeing Mickey Mouse tucked into bed the way the Munchkin usually sleeps at night.
I did the same thing again last week, except in Buttercup’s room.
Q: What do you get when you combine a two-year-old, a toy box full of various toys, and a salad spinner?
A: Mommy asking, “Why are you spinning your monkey?”
My cat just fell off the bed while trying to snuggle me.
Considering I was pregnant with Squeaker at the time, I’m sure she thought it was my fault.
I was startled awake by the strangest noise last night. A cat? Late night revelry by the neighbors? Alien motherships? Nope, just my husband sneezing.
Seriously, y’all… the man has the loudest sneeze ever.
SuperHubby:”Munchkin, do we like Jinxie cat?” Munchkin:”Uh-huh.” SuperHubby:”So what should we do with her?” Munchkin:”Put a ring on her.”
Thank you, Beyonce.
Me: “You’re so goofy.”
Munchkin: “I’m not Goofy, Mommy. I’m Donald Duck!”
Noted.
I just declared no veggies with dinner tonight, so SuperHubby started singing “No veggies, no veggies, la-la-la-la-la-la.” The Munchkin chimes in with “No wedgies, no wedgies, la la la!”
To this day, we still try to avoid wedgies with dinner.
SuperHubby to Munchkin: “Did you just speak normal English, or was that total gibberish?”
Munchkin: “I just burped.”
Hehe!!
Hope y’all have a great week!

The Language Of Love, Husband Games Style
Three days ago, CJ Blue (hero of The Husband Games) snuck into my head and asked if he could write Natalie some poetry for Valentine’s Day.
And because I’m a sucker, I indulged him.
Natalie and I both kinda wish I hadn’t, but he’s very proud of himself, and so here, for you today, I’m sharing his and Natalie’s poem exchange. Hope y’all enjoy!
Dear Natalie,
I wrote you some poetry. Will you be my Valentine?
There once was a girl from Bliss
Who had a really fine set of tits
I tried copping a feel
Without buying her a meal
And now all I get to do is kiss her grits.
Love,
CJ
Natalie’s first response:
Dear CJ,
Roses are red,
Violets are blue,
I know your middle name,
And I will use it against you.
Love,
Natalie
CJ was a little nervous after that. So he wrote her another one.
Dear Natalie,
I don’t think I expressed my love properly the first time. I’ve tried again. Smooches.
There once was a girl from Bliss
Who got smacked by life on the rumpkiss
The QG made her life hell
But she rang that old bat’s bell
And told the Queen General to go take a piss.
Love,
CJ
Seriously, y’all… I don’t know where he came from. But Natalie answered this one too.
Dear CJ,
Oh, honey, you were very clear. Huggles.
Roses are pink,
Violets are purple,
Please stop with the poetry,
Or I’ll twist your nipple.
Love,
Natalie
Uh-oh, y’all… it’s getting warm in here. And not in the good way…
Dear Natalie,
This time I’ve got it right, I just know it. Can I not sleep on the couch tonight?
There once was a girl from Bliss
Who really knew how to hiss
Then I came into her life
And now she’s really nice
She even lets me give her a kiss
Love,
Your Stud Muffin 4-Ever
Phew! I think he might’ve pulled it off, y’all. But I’m not sure. Do you think she forgives him?
Dear Stud Muffin,
There once was a girl named Natalie
Who was sometimes treated badly
She fell in love with a goofball
Who was really quite tall
And she taught him the right way to do poetry
I love you too.
Love,
Your Nat 4-Ever
They have a unique romance, that’s for sure. Here’s hoping y’all have a great Valentine’s Day!
