Poem: V is for...

Hello Poetteers,

You can read this as two different poems or as one whole poem.

V is for vacant

what comments

giveaways and emails

feel like at the moment

Vacant is my heart

of feelings

moving routinely

and being miserable

no happiness

no love

I want to vacant

some things, some places

so my heart won't feel
so vacant.

Love and thank you, Fida

U is for Universe

Hello Poetteers,

Back to basics
to the simple Universe
without all the divisions and fights.

Back to basics
no social media takeover
a simple letter writing
to your loved one
next door or across the Universe
or in University.

The Universe is an optimistic place
we shouldn't be pessimistic
people or make it a pessimistic place
We should give love
like the Universe loves us

Spring is the season
from the Universe
that reminds us
to get back to basics.

Love and thank you, Fida

P.S. I may take my own advice and reduce my social media use. You can stay connected with me on my newsletter. AND I'm about to give my Poetteers (the ones that subscribe) a sweet deal or two. Sign up by the 28th of this month to find out what it is!

Along with that, I have a giveaway going on:
a Rafflecopter giveaway

Tree-houses and Teachers

I was sitting in my Tree house with my personal Trainer. She was on the phone with her daughter. She was speaking a different language. I was about to leave when I heard something,

"أنت في المتجر؟ انا بحاجة الى التفاح والشوكولا."

She said something about apples and chocolate. I understood that. I never knew that. She didn't even say anything in English or made any movements indicating what she said. I didn't even grow up in an Arabic speaking home. Maybe my friends have some influence. I guess I should learn it. Maybe instead of just a personal Trainer I should hire a Tutor.

Love and thank you, Fida

Poems Q, R & S

Hello Poetteers,

I'm catching up to all the letters and I hope you are catching up on my other posts. Here are today's poems:

Q is for quiet
let you catch up to speed

Q is for quiet
let's read a book
find recommendations
find ways to get them

Q is for quiet
I'm being subtle
in my self promotion
not anymore.

---

R is for rest
relax
like the previous poem.

---

S is for sleep
what follows
after quietness
rest and relaxing.

Love and thank you, Fida

A to Z: Poems for O & P

Hello Poetteers,

Looking up pictures
I find olive and orange groves
I picture being there
I show him

Looking up pictures
he finds poppy fields
I'm sure he pictures
being back there
as I picture
going there.

---

P is for poetry. If you didn't see my announcement on twitter here it is again:

In honor of that I am having a giveaway!

a Rafflecopter giveaway

N is for New Read

Hello Poetteers,

I thought I would give you a break from the poems. I won a twitter giveaway yesterday and got the book DIVIDE by Jessa Russo. Yesterday was also it's release day! Within four hours I started and finished reading it. I thought I should share my review with you.

Divide Divide by Jessa Russo

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I loved this fairytale of a beauty and beast twist. In the beginning I was fine with it but after awhile I grew tired of the sex scenes. Other than that I love seeing all the foreshadowing. I love see all the puzzle pieces and how it came together. The pacing was good. I love how she knew something was in her, that she realized it on time. But the other things came slow but good enough. Along with them you think one thing and it's another thing. The end still came unexpected. It was cool that not just her, but he didn't remember the past.

It reminds me a bit of MY NAME IS MEMORY by Ann Brashares. I hope many readers find this story and love it as much as I did.

A to Z: M is for Muslim

Hello Poetteers,

Muslim
we do normal things
why can't we be seen as normal
we aren't always trying to prove a point
if there is one point you want
look at the Muslims
I follow on twitter

Muslim
we aren't always mad
we'll rant before or after
a massive laughter fit
with our sisters

Muslim
I'll be me
have a massive dance party
and move to Mars
or the moon
whichever we prefer

Muslim
God above all
will help me with everything.

Love and thank you, Fida

Hello Poetteers,

I'm lucky to be alive
Lucky to love
and be loved
lucky to have lost
and survived.

K is for Knowledge

Hello Poetteers,

Kicks and kills
not so good
give yourself
open yourself to some
knowledge

It will be the key
to the truth
to freedom.

(K is for kill, the underlying theme in HER OLIVES).

Love and thank you, Fida
