Process of Being A Poet
Hello Poetteers,
You can jump right in to writing poetry or you can take steps to get you to a place where you feel comfortable to write and share poetry.
1. 100 word flash fiction
2. Six word stories
Flash fiction and micro stories will help you practice being concise and force you to use only necessary words.
3. Parody of a song
Write a parody of a song. Practice with rhythm because it's a tool to make a good poem.
4. Poetry form
Start with already made formats of poetry. It will help you find what you like and don't like in writing a poem. Some forms have repetition as part of it's formula. Repetition, as I've mentioned before, gives emphasis to the important points.
5. Free verse
Now you're ready to write a poem on your own!!

P.S. After writing a poem you have to come up with a title for it. There is a cheat sheet of poetry formulas now available to you.

raise the inspiration: change your environment
Hello Poetteers,
This is the last installment of Raise Your Inspiration.
You are doing that when you go outside, when you choose a place to walk and as you walk. Maybe you work from home, go to a coffee shop. Maybe you go to the same coffee shop, switch it up. We live for routines. After awhile we go into autopilot with our days. You get too comfortable. I don't know about you but for me there is such thing as feeling too comfortable I start to feel uncomfortable. With a little change or new environment you start to feel better.
Try it next time you are sitting down to work.

Fida

raise the inspiration: talk to a friend
Hello Poetteers,
I've mentioned previously, take a walk with a friend. Take them out on a coffee or lunch date. The conversations will get the thoughts moving. We are always in our head. With a friend we can get outside of our head. An outside perspective will help us move forward with an old or new project, maybe your personal life, too.

Fida

raise the inspiration: free write
Hello Poetteers,
A lot of my inspiration series consisted of taking a break from writing and creating. Today, you get to go back to writing. Don't work on your project, but free-write. I have a few suggestions if you come up blank.

Poetry Prompt: Acrostic
Hello Poetteers,
Write an acrostic of your favorite animal. This is the fourth prompt in #dailypoetrygram. Questions are available in the video below to help get you thinking of what to write.
Example:
Dolphins amaze me from a young age
Oceans apart from seeing them, I hear about them
Living long lives
Playful
Hear so well
Intelligent and sociable
Nearly, already endangered.

raise the inspiration: deep breaths
Hello Poetteers,
We are always on the go, take a moment to sit down and be conscious of your breath. With the deep breath you are forced to slow down. You are able to notice the little things.
Usually we work, get frustrated and try to work through the frustration. That isn't good. We aren't able to do things well, we forget things. You won't be able to solve the problem unless you step away.
Come back later with a clear mind.

Fida
