Future Deserted Lands Works – Part I

So, as part of the Murder in March promotion on Facebook, I got to talk about various stories I’ve got brewing in my head. I’m also reminding myself to create a series bible, so here is what I’ve got so far. I have a few more ideas under my hats, but here are eleven concepts to start with, [My lists almost always go to Elevensies.], I’ll share the first five today.

Setting: My world, THE DESERTED LANDS, is an alternate future with the crux point of separation occurred around 2008. Major diffe...

Or other universes…

So you want to die in one of my stories? Here’s what you do:

Go to the Facebook Murder in March page.

Read the descriptions of the stories I’m planning on writing. Make a comment or suggestion about how you would want to die in that particular story.

I will have a series of posts this evening, 5 p.m. P.S.T., to talk more about potential deaths!

Ever Want to Die in a Novel? Murder in March

We all deserve a role in a novel? What if that role involved dying? Would you be a good guy, a bad guy, the ex? The best friend? Or the random Red-shirt?Murder in March

The next logical question is how? Is it a fantasy? Are you eaten by a dragon, stabbed in the kidneys by a halfling, or flambéed in andorian brandyby a wicked wizard? Is it horror? Sorry , I can’t help you there.

Is it science fiction? A quick painful implosion in vacuum outside a space station, atoms scattered by a transporter beam, or dying...

Reflecting on Two Years as a Print Published Novelist.

It seems like a pretty cool 49th birthday present to be writing a blog SalesOnBookScan112015-022016post about two years as a published author. I’ve completed my Sophomore Slump if I had one, and am moving on to whatever comes next. The graphic inserted to the left shows the last 8 weeks of sales on Neilsen BookScan, the Book rating system from the folks who bring you the TV ratings. As you can see at the beginning of November I had two weeks with no print books sold nationally. Since then I have sold two or more books e...

Columbia Crew R.I.P. 2/3/2003. A song…

Five days ago I posted a poem I’d written for my daughter who was born on the fifth anniversary of the Challenger’s explosion on take-off. These are the lyrics to a song I wrote on the day the Columbia broke apart on re-entry.

My notes on the lyric sheet:Begun on the way home from work as I was sure we would enter into an Iraq war. Finished as I sat stunned with the news of the Columbia Shuttle.

Waiting for the Fall – Eve of War

Driving home on the eve of...
