Lou Cook grew up on a small farm in Connecticut and has lived on both coasts of the United States.

The most beautiful building in her hometown was the library. She would search the old wooden shelves, and check out the unread stories from Mrs. Hoadley, the librarian.

These days, when not writing about Bunzini’s world, Lou is a deckhand on the ferries of the San Francisco Bay.

It is also very constructive to have an editor who likes what you write but is straight with you about where you aren’t clear or a passage just isn’t working. It is invaluable to have someone to talk with about your ideas and your words. Also you will need at least one person to find the typos!(less)
