Let's learn about "kerning"!

Have you ever read a book or newspaper and wondered, "How do they keep such a perfect margin on the right?"



It's because of kerning. When a typesetter kerns, she adjusts the spacing between the letters for optimal formatting. Kerning is also important, because the spaces between WORDS is helpful for meaning. For an example of bad kerning, click "read more"!
