I adore Christmas decorations, nonetheless, it's nice to have the clutter packed away for another year. I'm enjoying the sparseness of my living room as I sit here writing.
I rang in the New Year with an upper respiratory infection but braved the Holidays without complaint and with a smile because I love having my family together. I'm feeling better on that front, but weird vertigo has slipped in.
I'm halfway through editing my new project, and wondering if it will be somewhat polished to join in the IWSG Twitter Pitch Party on Jan. 18th. *fingers crossed*

Don’t forget to mark your calendar for the next IWSG Twitter Pitch Party – Thursday, January 18!
With hundreds of agents and publishers, this one will be ten times bigger than our first event.

Are you planning on joining in? Have a great week!

**The Beginning of a New Year**

Whether you're contemplating a new story or are in the midst of editing your first, fourth, or final draft ~ this is a new year when we can all start anew.
Speaking of writing~I've had many disappointments. I've failed in certain aspects, but as a writer we learn to pick up the pieces, snap them all together, and begin again. Failures, learning, and motivation are part of the writing process. We grow each day and strive for that ultimate success. Take each day in stride ~ good, bad, or indifferent.

In the beginning of summer I set a goal to finish the first draft of my new novel. All was good until life issues happened and I stumbled, fell, and scraped my knees.
It took a few extra months of brainstorming and sorting through everyday life, which happens to be a blessing. But today, I'm happy and celebrating because I finally typed those two magic words~THE END!

As I'd mentioned before, I plan on taking a break and letting this project stew and bubble over Christmastide. Because if you're a writer, then you know the editing process is hard work.
LOL

Prah, Constantine, Baryeh Reviews #romance #novella #Christmas

Happy December This is a busy time of season. Shopping for presents, wrapping said presents, baking, celebrating. And it's the reason why this will be our last review until February. Our review team is taking a much needed break to spend time with family and friends.
We wish you a  Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year

For the month of December we read and reviewed this lovely novella:

It’s two days before Christmas and bestselling children’s author Grace Alberts needs to fulfill a promise—to make it to a book signing for the kids at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, the place that did so much for her during a very rough time. But the weather’s getting awful and all flights are cancelled out of Boston, where she’s wrapping up her book tour. Then in walks her annoying but extremely sexy ex-husband, who (as usual) thinks he’s got all the answers.

Graham Walker just stopped by to get a book signed for Grace’s biggest fan, his niece, and wish Grace a Merry Christmas—why not? But he soon finds himself troubleshooting her dilemma. He’s got a Range Rover that can plow through a hundred-year Nor’easter. He’s even headed home to Philly. Trouble is, Grace's and his past is a disaster, something he has no intention of reliving while driving through a winter storm, no matter how much he once loved her. And maybe still does.

Bad weather has a way of bringing out the best and the worst in people, and when a run in with some deer antlers leads them to a forced stop in Mirror Lake, Connecticut, anything can happen, naughty or nice. Maybe a bit of enforced alone time and some Christmas magic can be just what it takes for them to face their past—and each other—once and for all.

Cathrina's Review:

I was traveling to visit my son for Thanksgiving when I read this adorable novella in one sitting.

The author, Miranda Liasson is a wonderful writer and spins a delightful tale. I became totally enamored with Can't Miss Christmas right from the beginning, and, until the heartfelt ending.

I fell in love with both character's instantly, and the pain they'd suffered in the past tore me apart. It's a dual POV and you get to read each ones earnest feelings and their inner struggles.

I highly recommend this beautifully written novella by Miranda Liasson!

Now, let's head over to read Nana Prah's and Empi Baryeh's reviews!

As you look back on 2017, with all its successes/failures, if you could backtrack, what would you do differently?

Truth be told I can't think of anything I'd do differently as far as my writing is concerned. I have been learning that I can't pay for promotional ads on all my books or else I'll go broke. What I have been doing differently is picking one or possibly two books to promote each month. And I started a Newsletter which I hope will help get the word out. The only problem with the Newsletter is the monthly cost of it. There doesn't seem to be an economical solution to the marketing plan.
What would you do differently?
Since this is our last blog post for IWSG for the year, I'd like to wish everyone a Merry Christmas!!!

Today I'm celebrating inspiration.

I'd been sitting on my WIP for months because I couldn't think of an ending. A couple of nights ago while lying in bed an idea popped into my head, and I liked it.
Yesterday I began to write the second to last chapter. I'm hoping the puzzle pieces will all fall into place. Now if I can only find the time to get this first draft done!

Have a great weekend!!
