Slick as Ides teaser 18
Ides and Westin phone conversation from Chapter 18:
“Hiya, miss me already? Or did he need his ass wiped?” He chuckles.
“What did you give him? He’s not rousing,” I ask.
“Rousing? Around you? Not possible. That fucker’s always horny just thinking about ya.” More laughter.
“I’m serious—he looks half-dead. Did you give him something to put him out?”
“It was only a little bit. He kept trying to scream and struggle, and I was worried someone would hear, plus, you know I can’t stand the thought of anyone getting hurt,” he explains.
“What the fuck did you do?” My voice goes up in pitch and yet it goes quieter.
“I gave him the good stuff,” he says.
“Are you shitting me? You gave him date rape drugs?”
“Hey, he told me he’s fucked you a few times while you were sleeping. Time to return the favor, right?”
“Shit, Westin. He has to be hard for me to even be able to do something like that, and I don’t know how I’m gonna get that when he’s zonked out.”
He chokes on something—sounds like he’s drinking some fluid. “Shit, woman, you don’t know men very well, do you? Some stroking, some sucking, and it won’t matter if he’s in a coma. His dick won’t know he’s out of it.”
“You really are sick,” I say.

Ides and Jason phone conversation from Chapter 17:
“When did he leave? Is he okay?” I pace in the bathroom, locked away, even though I’m on my own.
“Uh . . .” There’s some movement and a few more key strokes. “He left about two hours ago. He should be arriving soon. I don’t know which hotel he’ll pick though. He’s about as predictable as a parachuting gorilla—and those fuckers hurt if they land on you.”
I laugh. “I usually like monkeys rather than gorillas. They’re smaller.”
“And I give a fuck because . . . ?”
I laugh harder. “You’re such a dick.” I sit on the floor since the toilet seat is off limits until I’ve scrubbed that thing down.

Nick and Jason from Chapter 16:
When I’m all packed and ready to go, I simply wave at Jason and tell him, “Later, man.”
“Hey, your dad’s on his way.” He glances at my hand on the strap.
“Good for him,” I reply.
“He’s pissed. You better stick around.” He motions with his chin at my bag slung over my right shoulder.
“I don’t give a fuck if he’s shitting lightning bolts, I’m leaving.” I pull the bag tighter into my body.
“He knows . . .”
“Knows what?” I groan and roll my eyes, stretching my neck.
“He knows you’ve been following her again.”
“And?” I motion with my hand for him to hurry up and tell me whatever it is he has to say.
“And, he already told you to keep away from her. What do you think you’re doing, following her all the time again? I mean, shit, she’s just buying groceries. What’s so great about watching her shop? You want her to get killed over this?”

Ides and her father from Chapter 15:
“I wasn’t sure you got my letters,” he says, blinking back at me, his face pale and his voice soft.
His hands stretch out on the table before me.
“I got them, and I’m here. I know you hate me, but I had to come,” I tell him.
He holds his breath and then exhales in a rush. “I don’t hate you at all. God, Jesus, I . . . I was a shitty father to you, and I regret that every single day. How was I ever supposed to face you after I tried to kill you?”
“You and I both know if you’d wanted to kill me, you would’ve. Your bullet missed me on purpose.” I lean back in my chair to create a little bit of distance.
“Well, you know I do have good aim, but I was . . . Hell, I don’t know what I was. I just knew the cops were coming, and it was your fault.”

SHROAG 50 update
I've been writing SHROAG 50 all week. It was a slow writing week because there were a lot of interruptions with real life, but I am hoping to be done writing it by Monday. There are 18 chapters outlined and last night I finished writing chapter 11. The total word count up to this point is around 57K.
Here's a small teaser from chapter 6. It's a conversation between Guy and Anne:
“Sweet woman—you possess me.”
“That is not a compliment.” She smiled, though, as she said it.
“It is when you consider what it truly means.” His will was shredding with each touch. “What can I do to help you, Anne? I did not mean to make a mess of your life.”
“You did no such thing. It was all complicated before you arrived.” She sighed with a resigned expression. “Harry is an—”
“Asshole,” he said, sighing. “That man does not deserve you or this kingdom.”
She went rigid, then in the next moment—it was like she melted on the spot as his words took root in her heart.
“No one ever speaks of him that way,” she reminded him.
“And why should I care what other people do or think?” He wrapped his fingers around her waist. She kept dabbing at his feverish brow, not shying away from his touch, so he went on. “I only care what you think.”

Nick and Stephen conversation from Chapter 14:
When I pull up in Dad’s driveway, he exits the garage and glowers. “Helmet, Son. Is it so hard to follow the rules of safety?”
“Is it so hard to stop stealing her ideas and come up with your own shit, you patronizing son of a bitch?”
He chuckles, and I shove my hands in my pockets.
“Get off that fucking stupid bike and come inside. I wanna talk to you before the meeting,” he says, waving me in.
I turn the bike off, swing my leg around, set the kickstand down and follow him inside like an enormous, pitiful tool.
He opens the door to his office, and the second he breathes my direction and says her name, I’m flipping him off.
“Charming as always.” He smirks. “Please, set aside the trite angry white guy routine, and listen to me for a few seconds.”
“Why should I? You don’t give a shit that she’s my life.”
“Your life? You haven’t been following her around for the last week,” he says, leaning forward. “Seems to me you’re over her this time.”
“Been fucking busy,” I say through a tight jaw.
“Too busy you’re loafing around your house and sleeping all day? I’ve been over there several times. Either you’re so hammered you have to crash hard, or you’re avoiding something having to do with her. This isn’t normal for you. I’m worried about it,” he says, studying me.

Vapor and Ides from Chapter 13:
“I swear to God, Ides, I’ve lost my patience . . .”
“Why? You had an orgasm. I thought you were supposed to roll over and go to sleep after,” I tease. “You’re breaking the rules in the man book. They put men in a whole new category when they do that.”
“When have I ever gone to sleep after? Holy fuck—you’d think you’ve never been in bed with me and my insatiable dick. That was the appetizer. Fuck, it was more like cocktails since you were in charge. I’m not even halfway done with you. Get your sexy ass out here now, and I promise I won’t lick it much.”
“Promise not to lick it at all, and I’ll come out.” My arms break out in chills as I continue to secure my prize away.
He wants to lick me . . . there?
Dirty.
Why do I love that even though it’s revolting

Vapor and Riot from Chapter 12:
“What the hell do you want?” A gun is pointed in my face and the door is wide open.
“I just wanna talk to her,” I say, out of breath, my hands up in the air.
“She doesn’t want to see you anymore. I’m here to protect her, and protect her I will. She’s locked up in her cave right now anyway and can’t be disturbed,” he says.
“Riot, c’mon, man. You know I won’t hurt her.” I breathe hard. Just being this much closer to her has me hard as hell.
“Yeah, you’ll just fuck her until she can’t think straight anymore. She’s been working feverishly since she’s locked you out. She’s been doing some of her best work ever,” he snarls.

Ides and Stephen conversation from Chapter 11:
“But what does it do?” Mr. Reid asks.
“Well, seeing as how you had it stolen, I figured you already knew.” I wipe the sweat off the back of my neck.
My knees are locked, and my breathing is shallow. He stands entirely too close, and I can barely think about why I’m here.
He gives me a knowing look, as if he can tell I’m a bundle of nervous energy and scared to death of him.
“Why do you hate me?” I blurt.
“I don’t. I’ve never disliked you, but you’re not good enough for my son. He deserves better.” He strokes my device. “Now, tell me what this does.”
“First tell me why I can’t see him anymore,” I demand.
He blinks and offers a serpentine smile. “Do you know who you’re talking to?”
“Y-yes, sir. But I don’t see why you sent him after me only to later tell me if I came near him again or allowed him to be around me, you’d kill me.” I gulp and shift away from him.
His eyes light up. “I wanted to teach him a lesson.”
