Beaches Turks and Caicos: Turquoise Water, Palm Trees and Scuba Diving

Lisa at Beaches Turks and Caicos Beaches Turks and Caicos Photo by Lisa Niver Join me as I travel to Beaches Turks and Caicos!
The water is turquoise  and the palm trees are waving in the breeze!
Please enjoy all my videos of my adventures at Beaches Resorts:

VideoWelcome to Beaches Turks and Caicos!

I ate Italian lunch at Marios where you can order linguini alfredo off the menu or sample the buffet. At Beaches Resorts, you can dine with your Sesame Street friends and watch them dance in the show at night!

Make sure to eat at least one meal at Barefoot with your toes in the sand!

Everything at Beaches Resorts is included! You can have your wedding, enjoy scuba diving, kayak, paddle board and eat at any of the twenty restaurants. The drinks are included and there is no tipping!

While I was there, Chef Phil Vickery was filming for his show so I got to have a selfie with him and watch their production team!

Beaches Turks and Caicos Sunset by Lisa Niver

My butler, Jomo, brought me to my suite. I loved my home away from home almost as much as the greeting when I arrived. When you check in at Beaches Resorts, they tell you: “Welcome home!”

My balcony overlooked the pool at Italian village. I loved having a desk, dining table, living room and kitchen. My favorite part was the afternoon snacks and evening dessert treats left by Jomo and Harrold.

There are many programs for kids of all ages and many Sandals and Beaches Resorts to consider.

As the sun set, I wandered over to the Beach party! Please see my next video for the Sesame Street party with Zoe and her friends!

This resort is beautiful and has so many villages to explore. I cannot wait to try the restaurants and watch more live shows. This is my first time at a Beaches resort. I went to my first Sandals Resort in Montego Bay in February 2019.

Elanor and I loved dining at Le Petit Chateau for fine French cuisine! Remember you have over twenty dining options, eat by a pool, in your room, at a buffet or at an adults’ only restaurant. The choice is yours and it is ALL included!

Video: Sesame Street Beach Party at Treasure Beach

Join me at Treasure Beach for the Sesame Street Beach Party at Beaches Turks and Caicos April 26 2019!

On Friday nights, watch all your favorite characters dance on stage, do the limbo and come into the crowd for hugs!

Sesame Street characters can be found at breakfast, the Manager’s cocktail party and at special events at Camp Sesame! I loved having my photo with Zoe! Who do you want a picture with?

I like the way that Grover dances! Who is your favorite?

Video: 3 What is there to do at Beaches Turks and Caicos?

What activities will you choose at Beaches Turks and Caicos?

I love Scuba diving! I went on the 8am two tank boat to Grace Bay. Please see my other videos of our dives!

What can you do in the water? At Beaches, it is all included: the pools, non motorized water sports like sailing, kayaking and paddle boarding, 2 dives a day and the Waterpark! Take a ride on the glass bottom boat or on the catamaran!

Lisa at Beaches Turks and CaicosDo you want to take a class? When you are ten years old you can learn to dive! There is also discover scuba diving and Snuba!

For lunch, I went to Key West Village and ate at Bayside which had a buffet. Next door is Neptune’s where you order off a menu. Upstairs is Sky Rooftop Restaurant which is open for breakfast and dinner. The resort is beautifully maintained and I loved watching them make my sushi at Bayside!

There are hammocks, beach chairs and so many pools! Where will you begin?

Jomo, my butler, made me a reservation and escorted me to Bombay for Indian food. If you eat there during the day, it is Dino’s pizzeria which is very tasty too. I loved having Nan bread and curries. After dinner, I stopped at Cricketer’s where you can eat pub food and play pool. Outside of Sky restaurant, there is live music at night under the stars.

When I got back to my room, I had towel animals and dessert waiting for me on my dining room table. I am having the best time at Beaches Turks and Caicos and cannot wait to go diving again!

VideoDiving Grace Bay in Turks and Caicos with Beaches Resorts

I loved diving at Grace Bay with Beaches Turks and Caicos. Captain Lancelot and Divemaster Mark both gave briefings that were very complete and it was clear that safety is a priority on all Beaches Resorts dives! It is only about a ten minute boat ride and the conditions were great! I wore a shortie dive suit and I was very comfortable.

At Cathedral, we saw sharks, porcupine fish, only 2 lion fish, several angel fish, trumpet fish and a really big shark twice. We also saw box fish. I just LOVED being in the water! They have a dive master for every ten divers and they were training a team member on our boat. I was very impressed with all of the dive staff.

Our second dive was at Piranaha cove, we saw more sharks, a turtle with three fins and a gigantic barracuda. I saw a golden spotted moray eel and at least five nudibranchs. I definitely did not want to get out of the water! Diving Beaches Turks and Caicos April 27 2019

Bedouins Drinking Tea in Little Petra, Petra, Jordan

Drinking tea is maybe one of the most popular activities Bedouins do every day. Not only you see them drinking tea wherever you go, but you will also be invited to join them, no matter who you are. Young Bedouins and old Bedouins drink tea in their tents, in their caves, or simply just sitting in the shade. There might be a war nearby – and the neighboring countries are actually a proof for that, but Bedouins keep their calm and enjoy another glass of tea.

I took this photo in Little Petra after two Bedouins had a fight. They fought for a couple of minutes until other two Bedouins came and put an end to their quarrel. After that, they sat squatted and joined another glass of tea and smoked shisha.

I used a compact, light camera – a Sony Cyber-Shot DSC-HX300 (20.1MP), easy to carry and with a 50x optic zoom. For shooting this photo, I used: ISO160, aperture priority – f/3.5, focal length – 13 mm, and exposure time – 1/20 seconds. I haven’t altered the photo by any means, I have just resized it to fit the current requirements.

Drinking tea and smoking shisha is part of Bedouin’s lives. They have always fought for their land and they will never give up their caves in Petra, but when it comes to drinking tea, they forget everything and take a break to enjoy the beauty of the moment.

TODAY.com: Tips for Traveling to Black Spire Outpost, Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge

Batuu at Night Star Wars Galaxys Edge

TODAY SHOW: article about Star Wars

Thank you TODAY Show and TODAY Parenting team for publishing my article: “Tips for an out-of-this-world family experience at Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge

TODAY.com Parenting Team Parenting Contributor

Is your family excited to visit Black Spire Outpost at Disneyland? I wanted to share a few insights so you don’t miss out on anything!

Fortunately for me, the night before I went to Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge at Disneyland, I was able to interview a seventh grader. Zev’s tips greatly enhanced my visit which was only the 3rd day that Black Spire Outpost on Batuu was even open. I was honestly impressed with his knowledge and so was my group. Because of him, we discovered more features of this new land!

Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run and three jobs

First, Zev explained that he wanted to go on the Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run three times. Second, he told me why, which is because this motion simulator attraction has three jobs: pilot, gunner and engineer. I was a gunner and my job turned out to press the buttons as they lit up and I was shooting at enemy forces for our interactive smuggling mission. We were a team of five, however, there should be two people doing each job. I loved this ride and we all had a great time. You can watch on my video and see that there was lots of screaming and laughing as we worked together.

We did seem to run into the ground several times as our pilot’s might have missed keeping us on course. Since we were riding at night, we saw the outpost in the screens at night.

VIDEOIs the Brand New Star Wars Galaxy’s Edge Ride Awesome? YES

After waiting 45 minutes in line, my friend saw a sign that this ride was not for those with neck or back concerns and chose to leave us just before we entered the ride. We did not see this sign at the entrance to the line. The area opened on Friday, May 31, 2019, and we were there on Sunday, June 2, 2019. I am guessing more signs will be added. There will be both a stand-by line and a singles line. The second ride for this area, Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance, is expected to open later this year.

Star Wars Galaxy's Edge Blue or Green Milk

Green and Blue Milk and allergies

Zev suggested that I find and try the green and blue milk. The milk stand with the drink that Luke Skywalker had in the movie is not made from milk. The Disney team told me it has rice and coconut. They said the blue “milk” does have berries. They were going to check if I could have the green milk but I chose to not have either due to concerns about my allergies to berries.

Droid Depot at Star Wars Galaxy's EdgeDroid Depot

We saw a woman holding a droid and telling it to look at us. I loved the color and the sounds. I went into the Droid Depot where you can design, assemble and activate a customized droid. It will cost you 100 credits ($100) and it will be extremely unique. I loved the droids that were all along the walls and the conveyer belt of pieces.

Savi's Workshop Light Saber Savi’s Workshop: Handbuilt Lightsabers

One of the best tips I had from Zev was to look for the lightsabers. I asked in the Droid Depot about where to find them and the team member said, “Do you mean scrap metal?” Not catching on quickly, I said, “I am looking for where you make a lightsaber.” He repeated, “You mean you are looking for scrap metal?” and made a large obvious wink. So I looked at him and winked and said, “Oh yes! Where do I find scrap metal?” He told me to go out and turn towards the right. I found the scrap metal and learned about the clandestine shop that is continuing the work of the Force. There is a picture of a lightsaber on the wall but of course there is not a sign because the resistance does not want the shop to be discovered! In order to build one, you will pay 215 credits ($215usd) and you can go into the workshop. I did film in the Droid Depot and only outside Savi’s workshop but I did not have time to  go inside this visit.

Rey and Chewbacca at Star Wars Galaxy's EdgeThe entire land is well designed and when we first entered we immediately saw Rey and Chewbacca. You can buy food at Docking Bay 7 Food and Cargo as well as Ronto Roasters wraps. The creature shop was a big hit when I was there and so many people left with new friends to take home.

I loved my first visit to this new land which is the largest addition to Anaheim Disneyland since it opened in 1955. The interactive ride, shopping and food are on 14 acres which will transport you to a galaxy far, far away!
