The end of 2016, finally!

So this year has been a real rollercoaster for me. I wrote awesome books and had amazing sales ... but I was also forced to face the fact that I was not able to write as much as I would've liked to, because of my injury that I sustained in January.

See, left side was my leg last year, and right side is my leg now.
That scar is where the surgeon put in a metal plate and 8 screws in my leg (1 of them can't be seen on the scan, because it's much lower in my leg). I'll forever be a cyborg ... until I decide to let them take it out LOL! But I'm not sure I want that, because that would mean another 6+ months of physical therapy. :P


I fractured my Tibial Plateau, which is the top part of my shinbone and knee. It's one of the worst fractures you can have ... lucky me :P But I did recover well. It took about 5 months before I could stand up again on two feet, and about 9 months until I was fully able to walk. All of it was pretty painful and sometimes it still is, but I survived and I got stronger because of it. I learned what true independence and dependency is, because my fiancé was forced to do my bidding for months (I didn't mind, he did, haha!). Also, there is nothing that can beat standing up in a shower. Just saying.
I even wrote a book about my experience too, called RUIN. It's based on my story, but it's not a biography. I mixed fiction with reality to make it more exciting ... because my life is otherwise pretty boring :P haha.



The good stuff; What I did this year

This year I went to 3 signings. Yes, 3! First there was the Boston North Shore Author Signing, then there was RARE in Edinburgh, and finally Claddagh in Dublin. And they were all AMAZING!! I had so much fun meeting all these fabulous people, and the organizers were all so damn professional! Funny thing is, I actually went to Boston in a wheelchair ... because I couldn't walk yet. Crazy, because it was also my first time ever going to America haha. I'm nuts, I know.
Anyway ... I loved each and every one of the signings I went to, and I met so many amazing fans! I couldn't believe all the people that showed up just to take a picture with me & get something signed! :D Here are some pictures from the signings.

During my hospital stay I also published 2 audiobooks, Mr. X and Stalker, which are some of my older Dark Romance books, but still must-reads. ;) I'm working on the audiobook for Wicked Bride Games as we speak, and I promise I'll do more audiobooks in 2017. :)


I also published 4 full-length novels. The first being Ultimate Sin, a Dark Romance about a girl who is a complete slave to anyone who is willing to be her master. However, she gets sold to a Master with a devious past ... and a wish that could destroy her. I actually wrote this one halfway through December / January, so I'm not sure if it counts, but what the heck. :P I'm so glad I had already finished writing the book when my accident happened (Jan 9th). Funnily enough, this book performed so well! I was ecstatic. :D
Then came VIKTOR, which was a real struggle to write for me, because of the injury (I was stuck on the couch or bed 24/7), and because I just couldn't get into the 'sexy' mode that's required to write sex scenes. :P I think it has something to do with being crippled meaning I no longer felt sexy myself, and could therefor not imagine anyone else to be (let alone a fictional character). But still ... I think I managed to create quite a wonderful piece of work, rich with fantasy & playfulness. <3
My next book was Bad Teacher, which was really fun & easy to write, and I enjoyed it very much. It was just something fun and flirty that I needed to do in order to make myself happy again. It's a book that shouldn't be taken too seriously, as it's just a load of sex & fun. :P It was one of my most successful books.
And then the final full-length book was RUIN, a book based on a true story I'd been saving for 3 years, but now I was finally able to write it. I felt like I needed more experience before I wrote about a girl in the hospital ... and boy, did I get some experience, haha. This was honestly the hardest book for me to write, and I was so glad when I finally pushed through and finished it. It's not one of my best books, but it certainly is one I am most proud of purely because it's so close to heart.
Finally, I wrote something called Happy Forever After Darkness, which is a short novella for fans of Twenty-One, Stalker, Ultimate Sin, and Viktor where I brought all the characters back for an extended epilogue filled with sweet & sexy scenes, as well as a few secrets. ;)
I'm cheating a little bit here, because Ultimate Sin was already finished January 3rd, but I included it on the picture anyway. :P 
I actually DID finish writing Wicked Bride Games back in early December, so it's all set to go live for January 10th! :D This is a book you really don't want to miss. It's about 9 women having to fight over 3 guys who want more than just sex ... I dub this book ... The Bachelor + Gone Girl = Murderporn. :D Make from that what you will, haha!

What's up for 2017?
I've got several ideas / books worked out for 2017, but I can't tell you about all of them, since some of them are either a secret still or I'm not sure I'm going to write it this year or later. However, what I can tell you is that I've already written about 30% in a new story that ties in to Wicked Bride Games, called Dirty Wife Games, a sort of spin-off featuring Hyun, a girl from Wicked Bride Games. It's not going to be Dark Suspense, more like Dark Romance. But you'll find out more later on. ;)

Then I also have a new book planned in April/May with the male lead being a father ... that's about all I'm going to tell you right now.
Finally, I'm going to write 2 sequels to Bad Teacher (if I can manage to write an outline in time), publishing around July and September respectively. These are also going to be fun and flirty contemporary romance / romantic comedies.
This timeline still leaves room for a secret novella/book I was talking about earlier. I can't tell you jack-shit about this, sorry :P But I promise you, if I make it (because this schedule is insane), It'll blow your socks off.

Phoenix slams the door shut behind her and immediately turns around and barges toward me just so he can lock me in his arms and twirl me around.

“Yes! Viva Las Vegas, baby!” I yell, grinning like mad.

“You happy, princess?” he asks as he lowers me to the ground again, still holding me close.

“I love it …” I muse. “It’s exactly what I wanted. How I pictured us together.”

The lopsided smile on his face makes me lick my lips, and he grabs my chin and inches closer.

“C’mere, sweet cheeks.” He smashes his lips onto mine with full fervor, not sparing even a second to breathe. Every time he kisses me, I feel like I can live forever, and now that we have this house, the home of my dreams, together … it just feels like I can finally live my happy forever after.

“It’s a big home,” I murmur as our lips unlock.

“Maybe we should have a housewarming party,” he says, wriggling his eyebrows.

“Housewarming?” I frown. “We don’t have any f … Oh …” Finally, I get what he means.

He grins, and his tongue dips out to lick his lips as he growls. “Oh, yes, princess. Time to get the chains out.”

He kisses my chin and runs his tongue all the way down my neck, and I moan softly from his touch.

“Where do you want it, princess?” he whispers against my skin. “We can do it everywhere … in the kitchen. On the table. On the stairs. Or maybe against the wall.” He picks me up below the hips and pushes me up against the wall.

“We have all the time in the world,” I say. “Why not everywhere?”

“Good thinking.” He grins.

“Not a lot of furniture to use for fucking, though,” I add. “It’s still so empty.”

“We’ll go shopping tomorrow,” he growls, pressing his lips between my breasts.

“I don’t mean just that. I mean … this house … it has so many rooms. What will we do with them?”

“You wanna worry about that now?” he growls as he rips down his zipper. “While I’m on the verge of fucking your pussy raw?”

“I wanna know what you’re thinking,” I reply. “What we’re gonna do now that we finally have a place to call home.”

Closing my eyes, I shake my head. “You’re right. I don’t even know why I thought of it.” Probably because people always say you should start a family before you can be happy. But who am I kidding? Me, a mother? That’s the stupidest thing I’ve ever heard.

“We’re together … on our own … and no one’s gonna tear us apart. I’d say that’s reason enough to celebrate.” He grins against my lips and his hands suddenly grip my hips, jerking down my pants. “Now … where were we?”

“You didn’t give me what I want either, so now I’m going to take from you what I want even more.” His tongue dips out to wet his lips, and he bites the bottom one for just a second. For some reason, my eyes zoom in on it, and they forget for just a second what’s going on here.

“You’ll like it … don’t worry,” he muses, stepping even closer so he can smell me.

Let me tell you a story ...

With Ruin just being released I wanted to do something special for my fans. Some may have already read the book, some may have not, but know that I am grateful for every one of you.


So today, I want to tell you a little story.
Once upon a time, there was a little girl. Her heart and mind so big, she dreamt of scary monsters and talking crocodiles laughing with elephants. When she awoke, she could barely tell the difference between the real world and the one in her dreams.When she was six, she picked up a pen and began to write words. She never stopped. She fell in love with the curls, the swishes, the language, the communication. Even though her teachers scolded her for ruining the sheet of paper by writing with her left hand instead of her right. She didn't care.Her mind told her to write, and so she did.She wrote stories about crocodiles and elephants laughing and talking. Her mommy even made little booklets of the pink and blue papers she wrote on, slapped together with glue and rope.Her first little book.The first of many yet to come.
She grew older, and so did her mind, and the stories mounted up into the sky.During the day she'd dream of the stories she'd lived through the night before.Dreams and reality started to mix, to the point where her mind floated off, far away from the people close to her. In the car, she would stare at the clouds, her mind in a world filled with magic and flying monsters. In class, she would dream of ways to escape the world around her and jump into the one she'd created with just her thoughts.The stories never stopped, and so she began penning them down.One by one, they poured out of her.They needed to escape.Stories about girls discovering their super power and fighting monsters.Stories about a companionship travelling the world.Stories about first love and finding a soulmate.Stories about a distant future.Stories.So many, they seemed to never end.Her teachers used to ask, "What do you want to be when you grow up?"And she used to tell them, "I want to be a teacher, like you." But she only said that because her daddy was one, and because she didn't know there could be a different answer.But when she was older ... she changed her mind.She showed her mom her writings, who was always proud. It gave her the courage to tell more people, and she said to everyone, "I'm going to be a writer."Most people would commend her and smile, but only the grown-ups. Her classmates laughed, despite her insistance. They even talked about her behind her back, saying how stupid it was for her to believe in silly dreams. She kept writing, despite being told by everyone it couldn't be done.But she persisted. She would become the next JK Rowling.You see, this little girl always had a thing for books. No wonder, she loved to write them too, so it was only natural she devoured them too.But then she also knew JK Rowling was someone who lived in the UK. Someone who spoke English.She did not.So she was determined to learn how to write all her stories in English.It wasn't hard, because when she was younger, she used to have an American nanny who taught her a lot of words. Somehow, the language had been ingrained in her brain, and she never forgot.However, writing in your native language is always easier than a second one.She showed her teachers her hard work, and some complimented her for it, and told her to continue. So she did. She wrote and wrote until one day ... one day, she realized, she was sixteen, and she needed to do something after school.Something. Besides writing.Because you see ... writing was not a job that could earn you money. And money makes the world go round. You can't live without it.That's what her mom always told her.Just like her mom always told her that writing can never really be a job.Because, let's face it ... who in the Netherlands (a blip of a country on a map so large) ever becomes famous enough to earn a decent living from writing stories?None.So the girl gave up on writing and soon enrolled in college, taking up communication & social media classes so her second love (computers) might be her salvation. She forgot about her stories and put them aside, stuffed away in a corner of her computer where she wouldn't look for a long time, because they were burnt up dreams.Dreams that she never knew she'd revisit one day.One day.
One day, about three months before she'd graduate, she talked to her boss at her internship, and he told her the most striking thing."You love stories a lot, don't you?""Yeah.""Then why don't you write?""Because ... I can't make that my job." She laughed."Yes, you can.""No." She frowned."Yes." He smiled. "You can. You only gotta believe. Just do it.""Just do what?""Just go for it. If you want to write, just write. If you want to publish it, publish it. Why not? What's stopping you? No one. No one should be able to stop you, not even you."She opened her mouth, but failed to find an answer.Nothing.Nothing was exactly right. Nothing was stopping her.It was all she ever needed to hear.So she finished her work with as an intern, went home, and started up her computer. She wrote and wrote until her graduation, until she had so many stories in her mind and on paper she couldn't ignore it any longer.She was about to publish them under a newly made-up pen name.Screw the naysayers.Screw the dreams.It didn't matter if she wouldn't become the next JK Rowling. If her English was bad. If her stories wouldn't even be read.Because no matter what ... She would continue.She would push on and on until death.Because that is what people do when they have dreams.

“I needed that …” she murmurs, closing her eyes again.

“I know you did.” I smile cheekily.

She lets out a long, drawn-out sigh. “Alex Wright … you seem to know everything.”

“No, I just know you,” I reply boldly.

“Really now?” She opens one eye.

“I know you better than you think,” I say.

Now, both her eyes are open but hidden underneath thick lashes and a curious frown. “Really? Then what am I thinking right now?” She smirks as her feet dangle below the bench, one swaying, the other unmoving, and there is only one thing I can think of.

A tiny leaf that’s fallen on top of her head makes my hand move closer to swipe it away, but I linger. My fingers gently trail along her soft dark blond hair, past her ears and down her cheeks, until they reach her chin. There, I subtly grasp her between my thumb and index finger and lean in, cocking my head. My eyes slowly close, the sound of her short breaths pulling me in.

Before I know it, my lips have locked with hers.

I don’t know why I’m kissing her.

Well, other than the fact that I’ve been madly in love with her all this time.

She was just perfect.

Perfect, just the way she is.

Her scrunched-up face and rosy lips … just had to be kissed.

So I did it.

Her smile only makes me feel more bold, so I place my hand on her cheek and pull her even closer. “I just want to make you happy.”

I lean in again and press another soft kiss on her lips, the touch exhilarating me. Goose bumps scatter across my skin as I taste her on my lips. My blood rushes through my body to the only spot it can go to, the sudden burst of greed filling me. My pants tighten as my dick flinches from her lips alone.

God, I need to stop. This isn’t right.
