Blog Tour incl Guestpost & Giveaway: Tempeste O’Riley – Desires Entwined Series | Love Bytes

Lovebytes guestpost

Good morning, all my lovely readers! I thought I’d do something a little different today. I’m talking about body perceptions in connection to Temptations of Desire, my newest release in the Desires Entwined series. You see, Dal is 6’2”, very muscular, loves bikes, leather, has pale skin with little toffee colored freckles on the bridge of his nose and upper cheeks, and is a cop, so very masculine / butch, right? Well, other than the cute little freckles, at least;)

#MeatlessMonday Make it a Meatless Monday Mardi Gras Celebration with Green Gumbo

Every year, people around the world celebrate Mardi Gras and Carnival, a festival of parades, music and eating decadent foods leading up to Lent. Millions of people observe Lent by fasting or foregoing treats and meats for 40 days. Fun fact, the term “carnival” is from carnelevare, or “to remove meat.”

So that’s what we’re doing, removing the meat, but keeping the delicious flavor of the popular Mardi Gras dish gumbo. This Creole stew from Southern Louisiana usually features strong-flavored stock, meat, or shellfish, but, with a few simple swaps, it’s a perfect vegetarian dish. Green Gumbo is a popular plant-based version that includes a variety of greens and herbs that give it an amazing color and rich flavors.

Richard McCarthy, Member of the Executive Committee for Slow Food International and a Meatless Monday ambassador, shares his green gumbo recipe and great tips for making this plant-based dish taste authentic.

Author @TempesteO Talks About Writing Characters & | Desires Entwined Series Book Tour and #Giveaway | Contemporary M/M #Romance | Readeropolis | Bloglovin’

How much of your personality and life experiences are in your writing?

Now, that’s a hard yet easy question to answer. The simple answer is quite a bit. But it’s not that easy, really. It depends on the character and on the story how much of me bleeds all over the book. In my first book, Designs of Desire a L O T of me was in that. I have Ehlers-Danlos, I used forearm crutches (I now mostly use a wheelchair, though I still have my crutches too), I’ve been harassed and abused due to my health and mobility issues….

Black Bean Nachos – #MeatlessMonday

As you know, I’m a pescatarian, and love to find new and healthful recipies. A couple of years ago I stumbled across the Meatless Monday site and fell in love with not only the idea, but the variety of recipes. Today’s lunch recipe is a staple as far as my kids are concerned, lol. What do you love that is meatless?

black bean nachos

Nachos get a healthy plant-based boost with nutritious black beans, which are sauteed with Tabasco sauce for a little heat and honey for a little sweet. This crowd-pleasing recipe comes together in no time and can be customized with your favorite toppings. This recipe comes to us from Golden Blossom Honey. Serves 6

Memorial Day – You Will Never Be Forgotten

This image was shared with me (so I sadly do not know the original source) and to me, it is a profound statement and view. Our soldiers have died protecting our country as well as others, when needed, and that sacrifice should never be forgotten or shrugged off. Too many ignore the loss of life, both during a war and after, because it is not comfortable to see. But memorials like this are not only sadly, and sorely, needed, but so is understanding and education about what happened not on a world scale, but on a life level.

Take the time to thank a vet, go clean up a cemetery, read about the real lives of our lost heroes…

Don’t just share the images and move on. Remember each image and name means something!

This savory dish perfectly pairs portabella mushrooms with smoked paprika, garlic and cumin, which compliment the mushrooms’ natural umami flavors.
