*Prologue*
I thought I would be her nightmare—her terror and darkness. I wanted to be. I needed her more than food or sunlight. Only when she came into my life did I start to live—intoxicated by her taste, screams, and joy.
But our fucked up fairytale didn’t exactly have a happy ending.
Tess.
My Tess.
My esclave—so strong and fierce and sexually feral—wasn’t strong enough for what happened.
Her cage wasn’t me anymore.
It was them.
*Chapter One*
All I could think was—she’s dead. She had to be. All that blood, so bright with a coppery tang, almost sweet.
Her snowy skin was extra frosty, grey-blue eyes closed to me.
Rage and terror strangled as I fell to my knees in the warm puddle of crimson. The whip in my hands was slippery with sweat, and I hurled it away in disgust. I did this. I let myself go and showed my true self. The monster inside ruined the only brightness in my life.
“Tess?” I pulled her into my arms, dragging her cold, lifeless form closer. Blood smeared over us, and her red-welted body oozed with damnation.
“Wake up, esclave,” I growled, hoping an order would force those dove-blue eyes open. No response.
I bent, pressing my cheek against her mouth, waiting endlessly for a small puff of breath, a signal I hadn’t gone too far.
Nothing.
Fear stopped my heart, and all I wanted to do was rewind time. Rewind to a simpler place where I lived with needs and urges, but never let myself believe I could be free. Rewind to the day when Tess arrived, and I promptly sent her back to her silly boyfriend Brax. At least if I did, she would be safe and my life wouldn’t have ended.
At least then, Tess would be alive.
My demons killed her.
I killed her.
I threw my head back and howled.

“Q. Q!”
Something sharp bit my shoulder and I flinched. Rolling away, I tried to ignore the call. I deserved to stay in this endless hell. The hell I created for killing the one woman who stole my life and showed me an emotion I never dared dream for: love.
My cheek smarted as if someone slapped me, blazing through the darkness with a bite of pain.
Eyes snapped open to a wild-eyed, blonde goddess on top of me. The debilitating terror wouldn’t leave, even though she was alive, and glaring at me with passion I grew to know so well.
“What the hell, Q. That’s the third time this week. You going to tell me what you’re dreaming about to warrant howling like a werewolf?” Tess pinned my shoulders to the mattress and I couldn’t stop muscles from tensing. I liked her on top, but didn’t like her holding me as if she was in control. It wasn’t how I worked.
“None of your business.” I rolled, grabbing her hips to pin her beneath me. I risked a small smile. With her under me, my world righted again. I ran hands over her waist, up her throat, to her lips. Her breath fluttered, coming faster and the rest of my panic receded.
She was still breathing.
I hadn’t killed her.

OH MY GOD!!!! This is hands down the debut book that trumps, kicks ass and beats down any and all others debut books in the history of all debut books. Pepper Winters delivers superbly with the grace and execution of seasoned writers with more than 20 years of experience. I have been hearing whispers and rumors of this book for quite awhile, and once it hit my kindle it took everything in me not to quit mid way through Shooting Scars and tear off into Tears of Tess, I literally had to leave the FB world and go off grid so that I wouldn’t fall into the temptation that is Tears of Tess.
I started this book at 2 am in the morning and literally read it constantly until sleep over took me, my house work went undone, suppers in my house consisted of delivered pizza. I’m not kidding you, went I bathed, my kindle came with me, lol.
Holy motherfucking shitness Batman! Wow, wow, fucking hell WOW!!!!!
This story is so unlike ANY other story you’ll EVER read! I am still having trouble wrapping my mind around it and come up with the correct words to explain this book in all it’s epically proportional AWESOMENESS!!!!! And even if I tried, even if I stared at The End for 2 weeks, I would still fall short as a reviewer to grasp the words I am searching for to give this book the review it demands and deserves.
Tess is my kinda bitch, she’s kickass, strong, kind hearted, with a rebellious streak a mile wide. The things her body desires are things she doesn’t understand but still her body demands and this leaves her confused. With a boyfriend that is more comparable to prince freaking charming, she tries again and again to to either lure him into these sexy yet taboo desires or squelch them all together.
After being shot down by Brax, her boyfriend, yet again, she knows she needs to be happy with the love and contentment that their relationship is built on. So she throws herself into having fun with him on their Cancun vacay. But after a little exploration of the Mexican city leads them to a little watering hole for a quick drink, Tess’s life is irrevocably altered. Brax gets his ass beat down in the restroom and Tess gets kidnapped and thrown in the belly of hell called human trafficking and sex slavery. After fighting her captors tooth and nail for who knows how long, she hears the three words that have scared the shit out of her since this all began, “You’ve been sold.”
Q is easily one of the most complex and complicated characters I’ve ever had the utter thrill and excitement to read. Christian Grey move the hell over, because Q. Mercer is all kind of fifty shades of fucked up. 
Oh. My. God. I wanted to wring his neck one second, then the next let him wring mine, from behind while rocking my damn world bent over a pool table! Sheeeeeiat!!!! Jesus Christ this motherfucker can take a belt to my back side any damn day of the week and twice on Wednesday’s and Sundays!!! Again, I am at a loss of words to accurately describe the complete and utter mind fucking deliciousness and debauchery that is Q. Mercer.
I’ll close this review by saying, Fifty, This Man, and Bared to You was preschool, kindergarten, play time at recess compared to Tears of Tess. Pepper Winter’s, baby girl you didn’t just deliver with this mind blowing debut, you knocked that shit out of the park with a gotdamn GRAND SLAM, mami!!! You ruined me, raped me, bruised me, slammed me against the wall and literally left me fucked for any and all other authors, and like the good little smut whore that I am, I both applaud you and thank you for that. Now to all my followers and review readers, put this on the top of your to do list, and the second, the very moment at midnight on release day, you ‘buy now with 1 click’, forgo work the next day because you ain’t sleeping that night, you are getting your mind blown and your world rocked off it’s axis.Tears of Tess gets 5-WTFH THAT DEBUT BOOK IS THE DEBUT BOOK OF THE CENTURY!!!!!!-Kimmi stars ★★★★★

A surprise and a review
Hello all,
Life has well and truly exploded around me the last few days and I’m struggling to make time for all you wonderful people. But, I have an announcement…
Tears of Tess WILL be released early. No, I don’t have an exact date and won’t announce one. It will just appear on Amazon at some random time and my facebook page will have a big SURPRISE on it! So keep your eyes peeled.
In the meantime I want to thank Bianca for her amazing, awe inspiring review. It makes me want to re-read my own book to see the magic she saw. I’m blown away.

Since I saw the gorgeous cover I’ve wanted to read this book. The synopsis is very mysterious and dark. And with all the excerpts I’ve read, I was desperate to read it. When I received my ARC, I immediately started it off.
Well… I finished “Tears of Tess” a few hours ago and my brain is still not working well, since this book has blown me away. I seriously don’t know how I should write this review and what I should say. This book was so amazing and good that, like I said before, it has blown me away. It’s hard to describe such a book.
I really think that ‘Tears of Tess’ is the next big hit. Because it’s the kind of book that has that something. It’s the kind of book that you either love it or hate it. It’s the bestseller-like. It’s distrubing, yet amazing. It makes you realise that life can be awful, but beautiful if you know how to be yourself.
Before I started reading it, I was prepared to find darkness and disturbing scenes and lots of sex. But I wasn’t truly prepared for what I received. I received a darkness that filled my heart, scenes that scared me and made me cringe and lots of steamy scenes.
This is one of those books that becomes the center of your world while you read it. “Tears of Tess” haunted me, made me read every time I could. I was obsessed with Q.. I wanted to save him, I wanted to kill him. He is such a strong character that comes out from the pages of the book. He’s emanates power. He makes you drool and yet you are repulsed by him. Q. it’s probably the best character ever. He had an incredible aura of mystery that draws the reader in. I still haven’t figured him out. I need more of him!! I mean, seriously! The guy is perfect!
Hm… Tess. Me and Tess are very much alike. I kept thinking that I would’ve done the same things as her if I were in the situation. She and Q. are perfect match for each other.
There is a lot of suspense in “Tears of Tess”. This is a read that has the reader on the edge of the seat. While reading “Tears of Tess” my heart beat faster with excitement and curiosity.
I felt everything Tess felt. I was scared when she was scared. I felt hate when she felt hate. I was excited when she was excited. I loved when she loved. I felt this book like I was living it.
Every scene with Q. and Tess was full of rage, lust, hate and sometimes love. I loved their “relationship” because it was different.
I can not believe this is Pepper’s debut novel. The writing is brilliant, exactly how I like it. The story is amazing, completely mind-blowing. The characters are very well portrated and you feel like they are real people. Pepper’s imagination and talent is endless. I am sure that we will hear of her as a bestseller author.
I can not wait to read Q.’s book. Like I said, I haven’t figured him out yet. He is damaged, broken and shattered. It may not make sense for you, but these words describe Q. very well. I am curious to see what Tess will do, how their “relationship” will evolve.
This is the sexiest book I’ve ever read. God, those scenes with Q. and Tess!! The way they talked with each other!! I’ll never forget this book because of them and their passion-filled conversation and relationship.
“Tears of Tess” is an unforgettable read. It will make you feel lots of thing. It will hook you, torn you and heal you. This book is Tess’s journey in finding her true self. I loved it and I will sure read it again. I am at loss of words after reading this book. Seriously, it’s mind-blowing. It’s hard to describe it and no one can describe it as it truly is. So I think everyone should read and get a taste.
Tears of Tess deserves 6 stars out of 5.

Words CAN.NOT describe what a beautiful, emotional, gut-wrenching, soul-searching kind of read Tears of Tess was for me.
I simply LOVED it!
My emotions through-out
At 1% when I read
I wanted a new label. One that said: girlfriend who will do anything to be tied, spanked, and fucked all over rather than adored
I just knew I was going into something special.
At 11% I was like OH SHIT!
At 30 % I had a big smile on my face
At 46 % I was just a BALL. OF. EMOTIONS!!!
At 68% I couldn’t tear away from my tablet, it was just so good.
At 86% my heart was beating a million miles
At 100% I just had a book orgasm.
[Summary]
Tess is an ordinary girl from Australia, with an ordinary boyfriend and an ordinary sex-life. But she wants more than the ordinary sex-life… something less conventional. Tess and her boyfriend go on Holiday to Cancun Mexico and all is well until she gets kidnapped and sold to a man who goes by the name of Q. Q is no ordinary Master. He’s no ordinary man and Tess has become his new Slave.
[Disclaimer]
Let’s put that disclaimer out there, because I will get asked this A LOT. First off, I wasn’t a fan of Captive and not because it was too dark. I couldn’t find any redeeming qualities in Caleb. So if you want to compare Tears of Tess to Captive, please do not. It’s not the same. Tears of Tess has its own unique writing style and plot. However, Tears of Tess does have the same feel as Captive, Consequences, and Killing Sarai. Hopefully that makes sense.
I hadn’t gone Stockholmy- I hated him, knew what he did was wrong, but my body, shit, my body didn’t care.

Tess is wonderful, she smart, strong, resilient, beautiful and the fact she is Australian just tickles me to no end. Tears of Tess is written from her POV and you completely, 100% FEEL FOR HER. I got her emotions, I got her struggles and yes at some times, I was gutted with shock and grief, but I wouldn’t have it any other way. I loved her.

Oh God. Q. I think that is my new favorite letter. I LOVED Q. I want to make babies with Q, I want him to use me, abuse me and do it all over again. Could Pepper have written a more perfectly, beautifully damaged character? I think not. Q was P.E.R.F.E.C.T. I saw the wealthy, controlled alpha male. I also saw the tortured and vulnerable monster. Q had such conflictions which rounded his character nicely.
Q moved with power and undeniable knowledge of perfect control.
I will learn who you are one day. That is a promise. And my promises are law

The beginning starts out with a lot of character development on Tess’ part. You really get to know Tess and if you are like me, I love character development. I really got to know her and her issues. When Tess got kidnapped, I felt like I was jolted into a crazy ride and I loved it. It would not say Tears of Tess was a difficult read, I would say it was a dark read.
I love the power struggle between Tess and Q. Even though Q had all of the power, the chemistry between the Hero and Heroine just worked for me. The main reason why I love this book so much is because I understood Q. Even when he was sadistic, mean, and just didn’t seem to give a fuck, I got him and I loved him even more for it.
Only think of me and what I’m doing. There is intimacy in pain esclave. Let me make your pain my pleasure.
And the steam…. Yes they were my favorite parts. Let me clarify, I love steam, but kinky, very different and pushing the boundaries steam, well damn. I LOVE IT! Pepper did not disappoint. If you want something different, you will get it.
…put a man who wanted to hurt in front of me, with fucking on his mind and bondage in his thoughts, and I unraveled like the slut I’d become.
The monster roared, beating his cheats, salivating at the thought of what was to come.
Pepper is an excellent writer and I am completely shocked she wrote Tears of Tess in seven weeks. That’s pure fucking talent. I’ve said it before and I say it again. Reading books like Tears of Tess is the sole reason why I do what I do. It’s the reason why I pick up a book, write about it and let the world know, because when you write something that it just so beyond perfect, beautiful and good, EVERYONE should know.
