Review of the powerful and overwhelming mystery/suspense/paranormal romance The Lady of the Pier (The Flow) by Effrosyni Moschoudi

The Lady of the Pier (The Flow) was just as powerful and overwhelming as the first book, if not more. The poetic writing style of Mrs. Moschoudi was captivating, the descriptions mesmerizing, and the exquisite poems included in the novel wonderful and moving. But above all, the storyline itself, taking us from one lifetime to the next, was fascinating. The unfolding of the stories of Laura and Christian, Sofia and Danny kept me spellbound, and I couldn’t wait to see what happened to them in the second book and how their fate was connected.
I’m looking forward to the release of the third book in the trilogy!

My review on the intriguing and scorching hot Optical Illusions by Gale Stanley

Overprotective parents and a school advisor, who turned out to be pedophiles, taking advantage of insecure and abused Maggie reduce her self-esteem to nil. Things get complicated later on in her life, when she starts falling for her two “perfect” bosses, Michael and Aaron, who, whoever, are a couple. Discovering that they are bisexual and craving for Maggie makes things steamy hot.
Optical Illusions by Gale Stanley is one hot read. But it’s not only that. It takes things to another level by deeply exploring the feelings of the protagonists—especially Maggie’s. Mixed emotions of desire, doubts, and guilt spring out of the page, captivating the reader.

My Review for the deeply philosophical and unique tale Beyond the Pale by C. Michelle McCarty

Thoroughly developed characters populate this story of unresolved family discord between mother and daughter. The lead character, Abbie, gets pregnant at the age of seventeen and is given money by her mother, Phoebe, to leave town. Abbie dashes off without hesitation since hatred between the two women began decades earlier upon the death of Abbie’s father.
Ms. McCarty describes many intriguing characters that live in Abbie's trailer park and have become her “adopted” family. One of them is an alleged hooker, whose hairstyle is described by the author as, “Robyn’s ratted up hair reminded me of a bundle of cotton candy someone had dropped on the ground, picked up, dusted off some of the debris, and swirled back onto the cone.”
Albeit tragedy is involved, witty dialogue with hints of romance on the horizon for the lead character, Abbie, keeps the story flowing until a dramatic, surprising, and heartwarming ending.

What do a beautiful woman, a hunky detective, a kidnapping…and the glorious backdrop of Greece all have in common?

Attention grabbing right out of the starting gate, this page-turner had me hooked from the very first page. But lest you think it only involves a plot filled with twist and turns (which it does!), it also touches on something deeper––how loyalty, tenaciousness, and kindness should and can win out in the end. And when it does, it makes for a powerful story. A definite 5*.

A great review for newly released mystery romance Dark Shadows of the Past

Christina awakens on the cold hard ground in an alley hearing activity around her. Dan, a detective, is there as are other police employees. She is confused and doesn't remember what happened to her. The paramedics are there to take her to the hospital and that is when she realizes there is another body in that alley.....
Soon the memories start to return. Dan Mallory, the detective, comes to see her to find out what happened. She tells him about going to see her friend and the men that happened there.
But Christina has secrets, many of them. She is attracted to Dan as he is to her and Dan vows to protect her as her past comes to visit.
This book is full of twists and turns. Every time you understand why one is happening, here comes another twist. I felt that maybe it might have been too many. I don't know how Christina dealt with some of the blows she took because when it unraveled she was hit with a lot at once. Needless to say, she is a tough woman.
Dan is a really good guy. He works hard and crazy hours so relationships have been tough for him. Christina kept things from him trying to protect him and he really had a hard time with it.
You can pretty much figure out what her secret is but the was the author chose to deal with it and all it's twists and turns was really great! The descriptions of the Greek Isle was awesome, I could actually picture it and really wanted to be there!
I would recommend this book and would read another by this author.

My review on the hot, delicious, and touching romantic suspense novel His Marriage Demand by Fiona Murphy

Despite the problems she had to face growing up with an unfit mother, Ria turns into an amazing woman. She is sweet and caring and takes care of her younger brother as if he were her own son.
The romance between her and powerful Drake Hawthorne is breathtaking, and a perfect balance of heartwarming and scorching hot moments.
Ria’s wonderful relationship with Justin—her thirteen-year-old brother who is a gifted and mature beyond his age boy—is a bonus to the story.
I must admit I devoured this novel in two sittings, and once you get started, you probably won’t be able to put it down either.

5.0 out of 5 stars A fascinating blend of mystery and romance, sprinkled with a mesmerizing paranormal element, 5 August 2015By Angel - See all my reviewsThis review is from: The Ebb (book 1) (The Lady of the Pier trilogy) (Kindle Edition)The Lady of the Pier by Effrosyni Moschoudi is a fascinating blend of mystery and romance, sprinkled with a mesmerizing paranormal element.
The stories of Laura and Christian, Sofia and Danny are heartwarming, full of the sweetness, dreams, and the heartache of first love. I loved both plots and the way they interchanged and couldn’t wait to find out how they would unfold. The characters and their feelings were so vivid I felt I was right there with them. And what can I say about the amazing descriptions, the exquisite poems, and the almost poetic storytelling?
Five stars for this wonderful book!
