Curl Up With Inspiring Movies! Fab Gift Idea, Too
We know what is already on television these days, and it tends to get old/formulaic/boring/uninspired. And for those of us who are looking for inspiring messages in all areas of life – including on the couch with a remote! – I was so excited to discover Spiritual Cinema Circle by GaiamTV. Especially since this is the coziest time of the year to be inside, snuggling under blankets as needed.
I’ve always loved indie films and thought-provoking documentaries, but the collection of movies I just received took things to a whole new level. Four wonderful stories about a middle-aged farmer chasing a seemingly impossible dream to run 500 miles (“Cliffy” – which takes identifying your new year’s goals to a whole new level!
Then a short film about a man’s mission to create art in New Mexico caves – and you haven’t seen anything like this sculptural work before, trust me (“Cave Digger”;). HAVE to go there.
Another short film focused on a gentleman going through a difficult professional phase, and he can’t turn his business around until a bizarre request comes through - and changes everything (“The Listing Agent”;). Miracles in action, baby!
And “Jonah”, an amazing visual experience of a few people who experience something remarkable in their town, to put it simply. The graphics alone in this short film make you want to resist blinking because you might miss something amazing. If more people saw this one, it would raise the bar on visual graphics in movies.
This was the first Spiritual Cinema Circle DVD that arrived, and although I loved each film, I was bummed that all of the stories focused on men as the main protagonists. But the following months showcase female leads, and every story is a work of its own creation, so I’ll let that slide.
Every monthly DVD has one main feature and then three additional short films, which is perfect for those nights when you don’t want to stay up late. And you KEEP the DVD! This is not a rental service, so you are also accumulating a personal library of inspiring films to watch later, or to share with people who return things they borrow, or just to have on hand when a friend needs an inspirational hang-out session with you. Also a quick win if you want to get excited about real mail arriving in your mailbox.
Now, without naming names, this is going to be a wonderful holiday gift for a few of my consciousness peeps who are a bit harder to buy for because they are not into candles, or I don’t have their shirt size (which is always a weird question to bring up in a text).
I’m sharing this awesome idea in case you ALSO need to buy a few holiday gifts or birthday gifts. Or there’s the good ol’ standby reasoning that you simply deserve something fun – that contains no additional calories - every month.
After watching the first set of films, I’m excited for the next set to arrive, especially since my fav television shows are on mid-season breaks right now, and flipping through Netflix does not equal guaranteed entertainment.

New To Astrology?
It's tricky to sum up the world of astrology because it's composed of centuries of knowledge and study, and has many divergent studies and philosophies within it, including Western astrology, vedic astrology, horary astrology, and more.
Essentially, astrology is the study of cycles of energies as represented by the planets and zodiac signs. It is a tool for understanding yourself better: your gifts, talents, lessons, challenges, and Self. Astrology reveals energy patterns and tendencies, while also honoring your free will and your ability to choose what you want to do.
In my years of practice and study, I've found this to be a big topic - do we have free will or are we fated for a particular outcome? I don't think that is something anyone else can answer but you. What do you believe for your life? What makes you feel powerful?
Ultimately, all tools have the potential to bring us to higher levels of personal power and self-knowledge. I believe that's why we seek them out in the first place.
Sister Jenna and I had a conversation all about astrology on her America Meditating Radio Show recently, and we covered some of these inquiries. Plus, we had a discussion of vibrations, energy, and what is karma? I loved her insights!
