The End of Selita
THE SELITA SERIES
It's been a long time, I shouldn't have left you without a conclusion to step to. Yeah I wrote that first Selita book in 1892. No, it was actually 2014, two years ago. I wrote a prequel YELLOW GHOST last year but I had to finish this series. It's soooooo hard to write a book without a cliffhanger. I feel like I wrapped this book up as well as I could and still stayed true to myself. So here's an excerpt from the LA BELLE SELITA, the last and final book in the series.
BEN
The hot water hit my body and splashed all over me. The shower felt like heaven. I had time to think about what I had done. I had time to feel some remorse, but I didn’t feel any guilt. She wouldn’t budge on the divorce. She wouldn’t let me see my kids. She wouldn’t give me my shares of PenCorp. I had to do what I had to do.
I couldn’t believe I had sex with her. I couldn’t believe she went along with it without trying to kill me. Stranger things have happened. It seemed like strange things were always happening to me.
I stayed under the spray jets for as long as I could. I toweled off and got dressed in a gray t-shirt and jeans.
She was awake when I walked back into the bedroom.
“You showered. Are you going to uncuff me so I can shower too?”
“That wouldn’t be wise.”
“Ben, come on.”
I turned my back on her. I looked in the mirror. I didn’t have a comb so I ran my hands through my wet hair. I wanted to do exactly what she asked but I had to be strong. I hated that I wanted to please her so badly.
“How long are you going to keep me here?”
Sure, that was a legitimate question but one night of sex wasn’t enough to make me turn into a devout follower. “Why would I tell you?” I turned to see her facial expression.
“I can’t stay here forever.”
“You can and will do whatever I want you to do.” There it was, the eye roll. “Remember that’s what you signed up for. Until death do us part.”
