Worst Things That Happened To Me On A Date
These are the top ten worse thing that happened to me while I was on a date. Some dates are terrible. First dates are usually disastrous. Most of my worse dates scenarios come from men over sharing. Zipping the lip goes a long way in life. That is the best lesson a man can learn. No matter how embarrassingly terrible the date is you have grin until its over. As soon as its over you have to share the horror story with your best girlfriends. So here goes. These are in no particular order. They all sucked on multiple levels.
10. While having dinner at a steak house, this one guy told me that after work he goes home and cuddles up on the couch with his cat. The visual almost made me threw up in my own mouth. I’m not sure I’m fond of a man using the word cuddle and cat in the same sentence.
9. While on a second date at the movies with a guy that was much too young for me (10 years), he told me he had a girlfriend but he liked older women. He wanted kids one day and all the older woman didn’t want to have kids so he had to have a girlfriend his own age to eventually marry. I had to restrain the urge to throat punch him.
8. A guy told me he was bipolar in a joking way. A few months later I discovered it wasn’t a joke. He was quad-polar. He refused to take his medication so he was a hot depressed mess and a hot manic mess. Mental illness is nothing to joke about.
7. In my early twenties I went on a date with a guy that took me to Taco Bell. He proceeded to lick all eleven of his fingers. No serious, entire finger in the mouth with the smacking noises in high-definition surround sound IMAX theater style. Finger Licking Gross!
6. I once went on a date with a short guy. He had hair plugs but that wasn’t the problem. While at Starbucks he made snide comments about every single woman that entered Starbucks with high heel shoes on. He was snapping in a buttoned up suit and tie white man way. I was so glad I was wearing flats because I’m quite sure he would have stoned me. It’s not Christian Louboutin, Prada, Manolo Blahnik and Jimmy Choos fault you short.
5. I once went on a platonic friend date with a guy that bragged about his clothes (every guy wears Lacoste, that’s nothing to brag about), his job (I made more money than him but decided to not mention it), and the Porsche that he was going to go halvies on with his best buddy. Yes I said halvies on a Porsche. He was going to share the sportscar… like a normal late 30 something year old men, three days apiece and one day of rest for the car. Huh? I just report the news. I don’t make it.
4. I once went on a movie date with a guy to see Swordfish on opening day. We were late. Not my fault, He was slow. We entered during the previews and had to sit in the very first row of the packed theater. The entire movie he stared at me. He was burning my peripheral vision up. Awkward, Weird, Creepy. Halle Barry just flashed her boobs. Are you really looking at me and not the movie screen?
3. I went out on a date with a guy who showed me a picture of himself when he we strung out on heroin. Okay I guess there’s nothing more to write about that one.
2. I had a date with a guy and he over-shared by telling me he slept with his stepmother for YEARS starting when he was fifteen. He was proud and bragging about it to me. TOO MUCH INFORMATION! Appalled I asked him, “What did your father ever do to you?” He shrugged and said nothing… Jesus take the wheel. I can’t drive.
1. An older guy I knew I had nothing in common with begged me for a date. We went to the movies. While at the ticket counter he reached in his front pocket for his money to pay. All his bills were balled up into individual pieces. He had to un-crumble them before he give them to the ticket lady. Of course there was a long line behind us. He talked the entire movie. He asked me questions like it was a hard movie to follow. He kept calling Kevin Bacon, Tom Cruise. Is if they look like. The movie was Hollow Man. A small child could understand the plot.
I have had enough terrible dates to last a lifetime. I'm not sure how I can even write Erotic Romance after those dates.

Lolah Lace is a writer of Erotic Romantic Fiction. She currently resides in the Chicagoland area. Although she has been writing for years, Let's Play Ball is her first erotic interracial romance book. She decided to make it into a series of six books called Balls To The Walls Erotica Series. Latest Release: Flag On The Play – Book Five in the Balls To The Walls Erotica Series
Ebook available at Amazon, Barnes & Noble, Smashwords, iBookstore, Diesel, Scribd, Kobo My Writing Process – Blog TourI would love to thank my new friend and best-selling IR writer LaShawn Vasser, her blog is http://lashawnvasser.com/ many thanks LaShawn, see you on the bestsellers list! Thanks for your insight and support.
1.) What am I working on?I’m currently working on the sixth book in my Balls To The Walls Erotic Romance Series. You can find the first five books at Amazon on my author’s page. http://www.amazon.com/Lolah-Lace/e/B00DH1Q31OThe sixth book is entitled Out Of Bounds. I plan to have the final book released to the public by the end of April 2014. I love writing series novels but I had success with the release of my first stand-alone novel The Boss Lady. So soon after the release of Out Of Bounds I will release another stand-alone novel with a smoking hot alpha male hero.
2.) How does my work differ from others of its genre? My books are all interracial romance books with strong African American female heroines. One major difference in my style of writing is my books are all based in reality. I tend to make my books relatable to the average woman. My stories are based on random everyday situations that many women have faced. Another difference is I always write in first person narrative and usually from the male perspective. I incorporate common ordinary characters in my books. Characters my readers can relate to and empathize with. Although my novels are considered erotic they are romantic in that they contain romantic love relationships.
3.) Why do I write what I do?I write stories that are personal to me. I write stories that would entertain and fascinate me. The realization that they entertain others is quite rewarding. I am intrigued by the romance genre and the many elements it incorporates. Interracial romance comes natural to me because I have always lived, worked and gone to school in racially diverse communities.
4.) How does your writing process work?My writing process is simple in concept because it is centered on self-discipline. I used to live by the motto write 1,000 words per day or die. Now I have learned to write more than 1,000 words. I let the story take me away until I am truly exhausted. Instead of writing a few hours here and there I have learned to take my writing as a full time job. There are days that I sit behind my desk in my office and write for six to eight hours. I truly love to write. It comes natural and has therapeutic qualities. I produce a better story when I lock myself away with my thoughts, music and laptop. I always write with the aid of an outline. I sometimes use index cards. I also make a music playlist for the major characters in my books. So far this process has been extremely effective. I have over twenty unfinished books and I can’t wait to finish my current series and complete a story that I had put on hold.

FLAG ON THE PLAY
BOOK 5 IS LIVE!
Hello Readers, if you’re reading this blog that means you have already jumped on the BALLS TO THE WALLS journey with me. If you haven’t here’s a quick summary of book five.
[Mason warned Kari but she didn’t take his threat at face value. After Mason throws a monkey wrench in Kari’s special day, she is forced to deal with her crazy ex-lover. There has been a round of never-ending obstacles in their torrid love affair. Can Mason convince Kari that he is the only man for her? Or will his extreme measures be the end of them once and for all?]
So you are on the Mason and Kari roller coaster and you need another fix. Their relationship makes you happy, sad, mad and royally pissed off. But for some reason you want to see them find some relief or just some sense of peace. Some readers are Team Mason some are Team Jack. The last book will make some put this long love triangle to bed. It was extremely hard writing book five because it touched on some very hard issues. Kari had a lot of justifiable hostility towards Mason. She had some hard issues to face and some hard decisions to make.
There is only one book left in the series and I am typing my little fingers to the bone trying to get it to you. I want to thank all the readers that stuck with the series and enjoyed it. Without you guys there would be no reason to continue the series. So thank you a million times over.
There will be one final book in the series. It is due out at the end of April. The last book will be titled OUT OF BOUNDS. There are *SPOILERS* in the next paragraph so if you haven’t read all the way up to book five STOP reading.
I decided to put the wedding in book five because readers probably expected a wedding in book six. Although I have my original outline for these books I sometimes deviate from it. The original outline had a wedding that took place in Mexico. The original outline didn’t have a pregnancy. As the ideas come to me I change things that will better suit the storyline.
I am a true lover of stories. I listen to people when they share and that is why the BTTW books are rooted in reality. These drama filled scenarios could really happen to you or people you know. I have been asked if there will be any other books in this series after book six. My answer is I don’t know for sure. Six books were the original plan and I made seven books when you count RJ’s story FREE AGENT 3.5. I have many books to write and or finish before I can revisit BTTW.
Thanks LL

THE BOSS LADY
I have finally written my first stand alone novel. This may seem like a small endeavor but it's major for me because my brain only works in series form. Between my two pen names I have three running series. This story was burning to get out of me. I was literally compelled to write it. It idea came to me while writing Free Agent, book 3.5 in the Balls To The Walls Erotica Series.
I've been trying to update my blog forever but I was having trouble with Internet Explorer and had to switch over to Google Chrome just to post another blog entry. This book has produced the most Amazon reviews for me. I am very grateful to the fans of my work. I appreciate your reviews on Amazon, Goodreads and all other eBook forums. Thank you to all the readers and reviewers.
So for those of you that haven't read my latest book here is the blurb.
The Boss Lady is an interracial BWWM erotic romance novel. Paralyzed with grief over a sudden tragic loss, Lukas Hamilton wonders if life is worth living. A chance meeting with a single mother distracts him from his pain. Nicole Nevels is the devil but underneath her harsh demeanor is exactly what Lukas never imagined he needed. He is stuck in the past and forced to deal with issues he has vowed to avoid. Can Nicole help Luke to rebuild his will to live and love again? Or will her selfish deeds forever hurt an already broken man? This eBook is for mature readers only. It contains adult language and strong sexual content.
I wanted to share a few of my reviews for the boss lady with you.

"I have been a Lolah Lace fan since Day 1, and her storytelling gets better and better with each book! The Boss Lady is quite different from her legendary Balls To The Walls series in that we're dealing with a total alpha woman told completely from the man's perspective. This read was very engaging and entertaining. The dialogue flows making you laugh, cry, and oh-no-they-didn't all in one breath...This story is not just a romance, but a story about loss, healing, and second chances. I highly recommend this one!"
Erotica junkie wrote:
"Emotional on ever level. A destroyed man finds an innocent connection with a little girl, then a not so innocent connection with her mother. So happy Luke found a reason to live and love again."
Diane Lewis wrote:
"I really didn't think this book was going to be good but when I got into it. I quickly realized I was wrong. This book was so erotic talk about need to take a cold shower. The characters was excellent. I wish there could be more from nicole and Lucas. This will definitely go in my pile to reread again and again. Loved this book."
Kimone wrote:
"OMG!!!!!! This book was amazing, I laughed, I cried and I cussed. my feelings were all over the place. I loved that Lukas character had a dominate but sensitive personality. He was just what Nicole need to break through her tough wall she built around her heart."
Truth7 "No time for bad books" wrote:
"I didn't want to read this book because I was expecting it to be about a woman busting the balls of a man but the truth is that it was just a great story about a man learning to live again after losing his the most important person in his life. I enjoyed all the characters, even the ones that I wanted to strangle. This story was funny, sweet, surprising and entertaining. I would recommend it to others."

THE NEW YEAR 2014
This is my first blog post for the new year. I had never read an interracial or multicultural romance book until after I had wrote one of my own. I was just really unaware that this genre even existed. The only erotic novel I had read was Fifty Shades of Grey. As I look back on the year 2013 I want to share some of the authors and the books I enjoyed in the IR romance category. I know there are a lot of authors I haven't read but I'm a writer so there isn't much time for me to read. The authors below I personally view as five star writers. I'm sure there are more great IR authors out there but these are the authors I actually read. I read other genres also so I have limited time.
Nevertheless there were a few authors I truly enjoyed ready last year in no particular order.
1. Tali Martel, An Escape To Love - This I believe is the first book a read. I downloaded the preview and was intrigued. This is a book I will probably read again in the future.
2. Eve Vaughn, Mistress To The Beast and Whatever He Wants - I enjoyed both these books and even consider Eve Vaughn is one of the best authors in the IR genre.
3. Kenya Wright, Theirs To Play and Bad For You - I view this author as extremely talented. I will by the sequels to these books and I never wait for sequels in this genre. My attention span is limited but I can't wait to read her follow up books to both of the ones I mentioned.
4. Tressie Lockwood, Tripp In Love and Best Man's Baby - I put the book Tripp in Love in my favorites on my kindle. I don't remember the book but it's in my favorites so that means I loved it and I will read it again in the future.
5. Pepper Pace, Beast - This was a great long book for people who like long books. I try to stay away from long books because I don't have time but this book was worth the time.
6. Dez Burke, Gents 4 Ladies - This was one of the first books I read. I thought it had really good sex scene.
In the new year I have a few things I plan on doing. Resolutions I guess, or is that so last year to call them resolutions? Well I got plans and here they are.
1. Write more books - This is a no-brainer. I'm a writer so writing books is my life.
2. I will establish a regular sleep pattern.
3. I will write and release a stand-alone book.
4. Adapt one of novels into a screenplay.
5. Spend more time social networking and write more blog posts.
Happy New Year from Lolah Lace!!! :-)

BALLS TO THE WALLS AUTHOR QUESTIONS
BALLS TO THE WALLS AUTHOR QUESTIONSHere are a few questions about what went into the creation of my Erotica Series. Some of these questions were asked before so I thought I would post them in a blog. My back story is pretty boring. I’ve been writing since I was ten, mostly plays. I started out as a screenwriter then I started writing teleplays because I love TV shows. After people keep saying you should write a book I decided to write a book. I wrote some vampire and zombie books. Now I’m writing Interracial Erotic Romance Novels. I never get tired of talking about the characters in this series or what lead me to taking a stab at writing in a different genre.
1. How did you come up with the title for the BALLS TO THE WALLS series? The first book was called LET’S PLAY BALL because it was about a little league coach. The series was named BTTW because of the first book and also because I was listening to Lil Jon and the Eastside Boyz song “Get Low” multiple times a day for at least a two weeks.
2. How much of the book/series is realistic? The series is rooted in realism because I planned on it being relatable to woman. Mason is a made up person. The idea for the character came from a little league Coach named Jason. But the character is truly a composite of characteristics I would find attractive in a man. For example: he can build stuff with his hands, good at fixing things, physically strong, has a banging body, acts like a boss, has a career, loves kids, is insanely jealous, had minor flaws, arrogant, good in bed, nasty in bed, would scrap if the situation called for it etc. The character Jack came from a little league father that didn’t quite fit with the other fathers.
3. What inspired you to write your first book? I wouldn’t call it inspiration but I was challenged by some co-workers. They refused to buy my books under my other penname because they were Vampire and Zombie novels. They told me if I write something else they would buy it. I took it as a challenge. I had no idea what to write that would appeal to them. I had several ideas that never took flight. So one day I was bored sitting at my son’s baseball practices and I said (in my mind of course) what if the Coach had an affair with a parent? It was just that simple. When I’m bored my imagination runs wild. During baseball practice I sat in my car with my laptop and wrote Let’s Play Ball and turned it into a series.
4. What do you do when you are not writing? I read books, go to the gym, read books while I’m at the gym, get aspired by all the good-looking hard body men at the gym, watch a ridiculously obsessive amount of TV, watch movies, browse the shelves at discount/resale bookstores.
5. Where do you get your book ideas? Dreams, life events, TV news, TV shows, pictures in magazines, stories from friends, coworkers and strangers. Mostly dreams and sometimes daydreams. A lot of people tell me secrets because I’m not judgmental.
6. Who designed your book covers? I design my own covers. I love doing it and hate it also. If that makes sense. The worst thing about designing your own book covers is I can’t ever remember what font, tricks or tools I used the last time. I have to learn to do it all over again with every new book cover.
7. What is the message in your books? I don’t think my books have messages because they were written for entertainment purposes. The BTTW series has themes. Book one is Temptation. Book two is Consequences. Book three is Pressure. Book 3.5 is Change. Book’s four’s theme is Choices.
8. Do you have a specific writing style? I don’t think I have a specific style but I definitely try to incorporate drama, conflict, humor, sex and or love in all my books.
9. What was the hardest part of writing your books? Not having enough time to write the books. There are only 24 hours in a day. I operate on four or less hours of sleep per day. It’s not ideal but regular life and my endless amount of ideas won’t let my mind rest. Another hard part of writing is proofreading and typos. My eyes refuse to find mistakes even after reading it for the fifteenth time.
10. Did you learn anything from writing the BTTW books and what was it? I learned that some readers take fiction literally. I always viewed fiction as entertainment and a world of make believe. Some readers view fiction as fact and take the written word to heart. I also learned that there are a lot of readers that like my raunchy way of writing. They like me like a storyline that can not be predicted. I also learned that there is a huge fan base for interracial romance novels.
11. What’s next after the BTTW series is over? I plan to work on some books in my other penname. I also want to finish one of the many stand-alone books that I started and never finished. I have about 20 unfinished books and that is not an exaggeration. But as far as BTTW is concerned I have an outline that consists of two more books. Free Agent was something I came up with because some readers showed an interest in the RJ character. I have no plans of writing anymore side books at this time. The next book is the BTTW series is Flag On The Play and it will be out in February 2014.

HATERS VS. LOVERS
HATERS VS. LOVERSI am author Lolah Lace. I have a few things to share. So here is a quick blog entry before I type away on the next Balls To The Walls book. Life is a strange and wonderful place full of surprises. People are hilarious in ways that I can’t truly understand. Facebook is a riot. I have had to block a lot of fellas who feel the need to send me pictures of their penises. These pictures were spent to me before I even had an actual profile picture of myself up. I had my book covers up for months and only recently put an actual picture of myself on my profile. Well any who, I’m not sure why any man would flirt or send explicit photos to a book cover image but like a said, life is strange and Facebook is a riot. Some people are strange and some are mildly disturbed. Yesterday I received a message from a Facebook friend, mind you I don’t know this person but let me continue. This Facebook friend (that is a black man) messaged me “lol I’m hating on the black women white men photos”. That is what he wrote. I’m not sure what that means exactly. I’m not sure what photos he’s talking about. I’m not sure why there was an lol at the beginning of the message. I’m not even sure hating is a laugh out loud matter. I’m not sure that being a hater is funny. I kind of think hating is super-sad, time consuming and unhealthy. Of course I didn’t respond to the message because I’ve lived long enough to know that people need attention, way more attention than I can give them.
Here are a few things about me. I am a single parent with two kids. I have two jobs. Writing books is the job that I love. The other job has health insurance. Well back to dude. I think it must be nice to have time to hate on anything. I barely have time to do laundry, mop the kitchen, do my hair, check homework, go to the gym, and change a light bulb. The list is endless when it comes to things I have to do. I get on average 2-4.5 hours of sleep per night. I’m much too busy to hate. Plus I wasn’t raised that way. I write interracial erotic romance novels. I believe people should date and marry whoever they chose regardless of race. Love is colorblind as far as I’m concerned. Maybe the guy that left the message was trying to be funny. Maybe he just wanted to get a response from me. I’m not sure what his motive was for sending me that odd message. Maybe instead of seriously or jokingly hating on anybody, I think we should all try loving on everybody. In the words of People Magazine’s Sexiest Man Alive 2013, Adam Levine “I Really Want To Love Somebody” Now back to writing Bases Loaded.

WHAT IF BALLS TO THE WALLS WAS MADE INTO A MOVIE?
With the recent news that Charlie Hunnam pulled out of playing to role of Christian Grey in the film adaptation of The Fifty Shades of Grey Trilogy, it got me to thinking. What if my Balls To The WallsErotic Romance Series was made into a film? Yeah this is highly unlikely but I’m sure most authors would love to have their books made into a films. We all want to join the ranks of Stephen King, J.K. Rowling, Stephenie Meyer, Anne Rice, James Patterson and recently E.L. James, just to name a few. Plus I’m still confused as to how Ben Affleck can play Batman when he was Daredevil. I had chosen my picks for Fifty Shades of Grey way before E.L James. I personally want to see Shailene Woodley as Anastasia Steele and Alex Pettyfer as Christian Grey and while reading the books I always envisioned Vanessa Williams as Mrs. Robinson. My choices will never happen but wouldn’t that make for a great movie?
So let’s get back to me and my musings. Who do I want to play the central characters in a film of my BTTW Erotica Series? I’m sure you would never guess my picks. I seem to think outside the box. Okay first there is alpha male Mason Rizza. My first choice would have been Channing Tatum but he’s just too young looking to play Mason who is 38 years old. So my next choice and I believe the most believable is Jai Alexander Courtney from Jack Reacher and A Good Day To Die Hardand here’s why.
1. Dirty blonde hair and blue eyes
2. Must look Irish and not Italian
3. Muscular body-workout body
4. Looks good with a beard
5. Looks sweet but menacing
6. Can play thirty something
Next up is Kari Fenderson. Hands down my only choice is one of my favorite black actresses. Who I believe is highly underrated, Bianca Lawson. If you remember her from Save The Last Dance then you know she is the truth.
1. Closed mouth smile, full lips and freckles
2. Light skin African American but doesn’t look biracial
3. Looks younger than she is (Kari is 34 in the books)
4. Sexy but can pull off girl next door
5. Bond girl body
6. Can get extra black (Save The Last DanceClips)
Then there is Jack Unger, Mr. Perfect. I would pick Jason Lewis for what I believe to be obvious reasons. He was the Absolut Vodka guy on Sex And The City.1. Looks Swedish or German
2. Resembles a human Ken doll (Malibu Ken)
3. Looks successful and prettier than Mason
For the waifish mental wife of Mason Rizza, Tess Rizza I pick Emma Caulfield of Buffy The Vampire Slayer fame.
1. Very thin body
2. Thin facial features
3. Can play a pretty plain Jane
When I write I try to give a brief description of the characters and let the readers imagine their own versions of the characters. I’m sure absolutely no one envisioned these particular actors when they were reading BTTW. I'm currently working on a book that features Mason Rizza's nephew RJ from the Balls To The Walls Series. Check back soon for another blog post. I should release it in about a week. Until next time. :-) Lolah Lace
