The Truth Behind The Lies Author Playlist
These are the songs I listened to while writing THE TRUTH BEHIND THE LIES. This is part of the inspiration process. Take a look and you can see why I chose these songs.
1. How’s That – FKA Twigs This is the song I used for the book trailer. These words are sensual and overtly sexual. She wants him in her wink wink.
That feels good, In my...That feels goodSo so amazingI want you, In my...
2. Say You Will – Kanye West This song was the song Bash played on they way back home after their overnight stay at the hotel in Indiana.
When I grab your neck.I touch your soul. Take off your cool, then lose control.
3. Blow – Beyoncé I put this song in the playlist because it was about a man giving a woman oral pleasures and this took place fairly often in the book. This song was probably played the most because it fit the best with the storyline.
Can you eat my skittles? It’s the sweetest in the middle. Pink is the flavor, solve the riddle.
4. Cabaret – Justin Timberlake Another sexy song that displays how a man feels about the sexiness of his woman. This remains me of Bash.
Now can we discuss. Just how fast you got undressed. Girl if sex is a contest. Then you’re come in first.
5. Lights On – FKA Twigs This erotic song conveys feeling so comfortable with someone in a sexual manner with lyrics like *when I trust you we can do it with the lights on* this instantly made it to the playlist because Bash and Nina took their time getting to know each other.
Break or seize me. Let the things that I tell you survive. In the way that you handle your size. Never leave me.
6. Feelings – Maroon 5 This fast paced happy song was on the playlist because it conveyed the joy the characters felt encountering a new love.
If you want me.Take me home and let me use you.
7. Trini Dem Girls – Nicki Minaj This song was mentioned in the book as the song Nina danced to in her open clutter free living room. She wanted to see if she still could pat the pum pum.
Put it in his face like a cop badge. He wanna pound it like a hashtag.
8. Crazy In Love (2014 Remix) – Beyoncé This song in its slow version is pretty much the anthem for being hopelessly and helplessly in love. You may have heard the song a million times but there's something so sexy and provocative about this slowed down groaning version of the song.
You got me sprung and I don’t care who sees, cause baby you got me.
9. Hours – FKA Twigs British artist FKA Twigs has a host of very sexual songs with explicit lyrics. That’s if you listen closely to the words. Her songs seem to fit perfectly with the subject matter I tackled in the book.
How would you like it if I sucked before I bite but it wasn’t too hard so it felt alright
10. Chains – Nick Jonas This song made it to the playlist because it was indicative to feeling an undeniable attachment to a lover. The beat was cool and just want was needed to keep me writing about Nina and Bash.
You got me in chainsyou got me in chains for your loveBut, I wouldn't change, no I wouldn't change this love
These are the main songs on my playlist for the novel The Truth Behind The Lies. Book 2 will have a new playlist. Lolah Lace

SNEAK PEEK at THE TRUTH BEHIND THE LIES
Here is a sneak peek at my upcoming BWWM Interracial Romance novel The Truth Behind The Lies.
PROLOGUE
I’m back to square one. This time around I think I like being single. All my relationships end in disaster with my last one being a colossal hot ass mess. Well that’s not really true of all them. Some just fade away peacefully with both parties only suffering a minimal amount of emotional damage. Some people aren’t meant to be together. It seems there is no one meant to be with me. I think there could be something wrong with me. If there is I just don’t know what it is or how to fix it, how to fix me. I’m not trifling. I’m not an angry black woman. So what gives? I think I hate being single. No, I know I hate it.

The Truth Behind The Lies
I have a new book coming out on Monday, May 25 2015. I'm excited about this book. It's not like any book I've ever written before. On Monday I will post my new novel to Lolah Lace.com, Amazon.com, Barnes and Noble, Apple iBooks and Smashwords. Below is the blurb for my new book The Truth Behind The Lies.
BLURB: All of Nina Norwood’s relationships end in shambles. She’s getting older and desperately wants a lasting commitment. A chance meeting with charismatic Sebastian takes her by surprise. He offers something fun, new and uncomplicated. He awakens desires Nina had long forgotten she craved. Sebastian Vandervol is perfect by all accounts. That is until he reveals he had lied to her. Nina wonders what other lies may live beneath the surface. Is the tall, handsome, sexy German too good to be true? If Nina digs deep enough maybe she will uncover the truth behind the lies.
Take a look at the smoking hot book trailer.
Come and experience Sebastian Vandervol.

MY WRITING PROCESS REVEALED
REVEALED
A writer’s job is undefined. It varies because all writers are different. There are things to do to prepare to write and all the things you do after you have finished writing a book. Here are 10 things I have to do in order to finish a book. There are no hard fast secrets but these are the things that work for me. I’ve tried daily goals and words count goals. That never seemed to work for me. My lofty goal is to try to focus on one book at a time. This is a glimpse into my writing process.
1. I have to envision my characters as real actors, models, singers, celebrities or I will never write the book. I can have an idea all day ever day but if that idea does not develop into a face I will never write that book. It will end up in the graveyard file that I call (Novels Not Finished).
2. My ideas almost always come from a dream. The trick is waking up and remembering what I dreamed. This is a very difficult task when you have a lot of things on your mind. Sure I see various things while I’m awake but I actually dream scenes. So an idea is just an idea but the dreams fill the ideas with words. I can think about something all day but I have to dream about it to write about it.
3. I need a playlist to write and finish a book. Music is essential. I have to have my music to write. Since my musical taste very I have a mix of everything. Sade’s Ordinary Love has shown up an over 80% of my author’s playlist. That song seems to fit for almost every book I write. When I grow tired of my author playlist I listen to random Classical music, which always includes Beethoven.
4. I write from partial outlines that never are complete. I use either; index cards, post-it notes, notebook paper or the outline is typed in Word doc. I can never finish a complete outline. My ideas keep changing so my outline rarely matches the finish product.
5. I have to transfer all works in progress into my old original Kindle Fire over 20 times before I finish. This is a weird ritual. But I have to have an updated copy of my latest work with me at all times.
6. I keep research notes and along with character outlines in various binders. I also keep notes in pretty little notebooks. I need the notebooks to refer to things I may forgot because I have too many characters at this point to remember what car they drive, their middle names, their favorite food etc.
7. I ask men what if’s to add authenticity to all my books. For example: I asked three separate Caucasian men what they would do if they found out their brother was cheating on his wife. Research for Mason and Mike Rizza’s relationship in the Balls To The Walls Erotica Series. If you remember Mike found out Mason was cheating with Kari. Fiction is fiction but it’s nice to place as much reality into it as possible.
8. I sneak and listen to people talking (men usually) and take sentences and phrases and put them in my books. For example Mason Rizza in the Balls To The Walls Erotica Series repeats words three times. (Go, Go, Go! or No, No, No!)
9. I have to spend sometime in the gym rereading and revising my finished book before I can release it.
10. I bounce my ideas off of people. I talk about my book with a few people that don’t read books AT ALL. Sure this probably makes no sense. I know they don’t read so I’m interested in what would hold their interest. If I can tell them the story and they ask questions it leads me to believe that avid readers will be interested.

MY NEW BOOK BABY
Finally I have birthed another book. My latest book comes out today at Amazon.com. This book is the longest Lolah Lace book I've written. It's a little over 70,000 words. It was supposed to be 40,000 words. I kind of got carried away with the story. My book is still available in my website bookstore at www.LolahLace.com. Here is the blurb for A CONSTANT REMINDER and a brief video blog entry.
A Constant Reminder is a controversial interracial BWWM romance.
Adam Hardwick was lost and angry. He felt alone in a world he created. His life was headed in the wrong direction and this caused him to reluctantly disappear from society. Now that he’s reappeared Adam meets Roxanne Potts and their lives are forever changed. Coincidence brings them together but secrets may tear them apart. As hard as they try, Adam and Roxanne won’t be able to hide their secrets forever. Through the pain, the love and the lies, there is only the truth. Will their love survive the demons of the past and the damage it has caused? Or will the truth destroy their chance at true happiness?
This is a controversial story about rehabilitation, redemption and forgiveness.

MERRY CHRISTMAS! HAPPY HOLIDAYS! AND ALL THAT JAZZ!
MERRY CHRISTMAS! HAPPY HOLIDAYS! AND ALL THAT JAZZ!
I love to write. I will never stop. As the New Year approaches I want to make it clear to all the readers who have enjoyed my work. I have my reasons for sticking to a profession that is fickle, rewarding and costly for writers. I have had a laundry list of bad experiences since I decided to self publish my first book. I am not in the big leagues. I do everything myself. I write the books. I market the books. I promote my brand. I have made every single book cover with the exception of the last one that was done as a birthday gift.
Sometimes my sales would make a sane person cry tears. Yet I still continue to write. Sometimes reviews are brutal. Yet I still write. Sometimes reviews are nonexistent. Yet I still write. I love it too much to ever stop. I’ve been writing since I was ten. I wrote my first feature length screenplay in high school. It was typed on a regular old-fashioned typewriter. The pages are yellow after all these years of wear and tear. I still have it in the binder that had been passed around to all my friends in high school. Even boys read it, if you can believe that.
I have stories coming out of every orifice. I’m new to this genre because I didn’t even know it existed. I’ve been writing Interracial and Multicultural books for years but I didn’t actually know it was a sub genre. Basically I was naive and didn’t know there was a separation of races within novel genres. My books were in the wrong category when I first started out.
After 2 ½ years published and 1 ½ years published in Interracial Erotic Romance, I don’t feel like a vet but I definitely don’t feel like a rookie. I have made a few mistakes. One was I didn’t know readers were into Happily Ever Afters. I learned that pretty quickly. My first novel, BIRTH (A First Blood Novel) was typed and printed on copy paper from my Inkjet printer. I three-hole punched it and it made the rounds at my job. It was very similar to my screenplay back in high school. It was passed from person to person.
The life of a writer is very frustrating. I wish I could do it full-time but I have children and this profession has zero security and zero health benefits. Yet I continue to write and enjoy it. Recent changes to Amazon, Smashwords and other online book retailers have made it virtually impossible to reach readers who are unaware of your work. I want to thank all the folks who got the word out about the Balls To The Walls Series. You were integral in motivating me to writing more Balls To The Walls books. I planned on going back to writing Zombie and Vampire books but then I started getting a lot of inspiring IM’s on Facebook.
I look forward to a new year and new challenges in this genre. I just hope you join me for a happy, healthy and fulfilling new year in Interracial Romance. Merry Christmas! Happy Holidays! And all that jazz!
XOXOXO Lolah Lace

I have a new book coming out this month. I’m pretty excited about it. It should be available in ebook format in a couple of days. It’s not at all like the Balls To The Walls Erotica Series. It happens to be the longest Lolah Lace book I've written at 57,000 words. Here’s a brief description for my new book entitled La Femme Selita along with the cover reveal and a hot new book trailer.
