Between hate and lust lies heaven, hell… and smoldering love.
Like his brothers, Madoc is a dragon born by blood magic. Unlike them, he has only once bitten a human in a near-hopeless quest to find his eternal mate. Watching that woman die nearly destroyed him.
Now he works to invent a watch that will rewind time. When he attends the Spectacle of Time in Paris, though, he finds a woman who shakes the foundation of his world and crumbles his ferocious control.
Ever since the black-haired man with the red crescent on his cheek ruined her family, Fina has hated him. When she runs into him in Paris, she is determined to show him just how much. Instead, overwhelmed by the desire to both kill him and bed him, her body betrays her and she melts in his arms.
Sparks fly, and—when his teeth sink into her skin—she ignites. But she can’t run far and fast enough to avoid the burning truth. She is now part of Madoc’s dangerous world?body, soul, and fire.
Warning: This novel contains explicit sex, time-shifting, distance-hopping, a super-hot dragon, and a woman who can take the heat.

My Take on Kindle Matchbook
By A.C. James
Anyone who reads my blog knows that I try to balance it with information for writers and of course the spotlights, interviews, and books for readers. About a week ago (or maybe two), I received an email from Amazon about a new program called Kindle Matchbook. Basically, anyone who purchases a print copy can get an e-book version for either a discounted rate or for free. This is only for the books that are enrolled in the program by either the indie author or publisher.
Personally, I think this is really smart on Amazon’s part. Readers that have yet to enter the digital age may be encouraged to actually try e-books for the very first time. Print for most self-publishers not selling on the level of Bella Andre and Marie Force equal a marginal slice of their revenue or are used as a marketing tool.
Until the successful midlisters or bestsellers are approached and lucky enough to get a print only deal.
*Sighing Enviously*
Another possibility that I view as positive is double dipping. Christmas is coming. What better way to spend your money than to buy a print copy to gift to someone and keep the e-book version of your favorite author for yourself? Considering that I’m a new author I fully intend to take advantage of this and offer my e-books FREE for buying a print copy.
Or let me break it down to you this way. $2.99 x 70% Royalty = a $2.09 loss of an e-book sale if you’re giving it with the print copy for free.
The advertising from your loyal fan passing along a copy to someone who’s never read you before and them becoming another loyal fan that will read your future books = priceless.
Avid fans that loan or give out a print copy while reading your e-book gives you the added bonus of discoverability. Word of mouth is crucial.
So double dip away. I think it’s a good thing.
Whether I will keep it that way or offer e-books at a discount remains to be seen.
It will increase what has been a dwindling print market and I look at it as a positive shift for Barnes and Noble, Books-A-Million, and indie bookstores that take advantage of this program or implement their own.
It’s simply a matter of bundling and it’s been done successfully in so many other markets it only makes sense that publishing adopts the practice. I’m just surprised it didn’t occur to anyone sooner. Just look at the music industry with offering MP3s, CDs, and Vinyl albums.
Yes, people still buy vinyl. The sound quality is completely different. The White Album just loses something when you listen to the CD.
*Waves Hands in the Air Fanatically* I am one of those people that loves record players. But if I had to buy the CD separate?
Just like people will always buy books. Especially if they can get a cheaper to produce format for a couple extra bucks or for free.
I’m down with that and you should be too.

Lots of Cool Stuff… Er, Smoking HOT Stuff
First, I was so excited when I got the final copy of my new cover for Eternal Ever After that I just had to share it. I was going to wait until its release got a little closer to show it off but I’m impatient. The release of this erotic paranormal romance won’t be until December. That hasn’t changed. But I just had to share the phenomenal work that Ramona did for its debut.
Awesome isn’t it?
Psst… If you’re an indie author I highly recommend her work. To review other samples of her work click here.
I also wanted to remind everyone that I will be at the Easton, PA Barnes and Noble along with 49 other authors on September 25th at 7pm. If you’re local to this area please come out and support your local authors.
As my gift to readers on 9/25 – 9/26 Cursed Ever After will be FREE on Amazon. It’s an erotica prequel to Eternal Ever After. Although it’s not entirely necessary to read this to get into the series, it does give you a glimpse of other characters that aren’t our heroine or hero. It’s also more along the lines of erotica and the series while very HOT is considered erotic romance. You say tomato I say tomahto.
Another thing I wanted to share is that if you buy Ruler as an audiobook you will receive an ePUB version as my FREE gift. I don’t mind spreading the love with a little double dipping now that the holiday season is right around the corner. Give one as a gift, keep the other for yourself. Click here for details.
I think that’s pretty much it for now.
XOXO

Interview-JoAnna Grace
By JoAnna Grace
Welcome to my blog interview with novelist JoAnna Grace. If you like what you read, please investigate her books on Amazon.
A.C. James: Hello, JoAnna. Please tell us something about yourself, where you’re based, and how you came to be a writer.
JoAnna: Hi! I’m an East Texas girl all the way. Lived in the same town my whole life. I’ve been writing since I was a child. I guess you could say I’ve always had an over active imagination. That left me with two choices: writing or medication. LOL! I think I went in the right direction with the writing!
A.C. James: LOL… Writing or medication—you’re hysterical What genre do you generally write and what have you had published to-date? What do you think of eBooks?
JoAnna: Romance is my main genre and I write various subgenres of that. I’m a sap at heart so anything with a good love story. Throw in some murder or magic and I’m set. My debut novel, Divine Destiny, is currently on sale and I have many more projects on the way. I love ebooks! I have an iPad that has both Kindle and Nook apps. It’s the future of the industry. I still like going to brick-and-mortar stores and feeling the pages in my hand, but we live in a digital age. I don’t think print will ever go away though—I hope not, that would break my heart.
A.C. James: Mine too but I have to agree that I’ve completely fallen in love with my Kindle. Have you self-published? If so, what lead to you to become an indie author?
JoAnna: Divine Destiny was going to be a self-pub. I’m a control freak so it was the most logical way to go. But I met my publisher, Progressive Rising Phoenix Press, at a conference and things escalated from there. I connected with their mission statement and their set up from the start. It’s exciting to see Divine Destiny among their titles.
A.C. James: Do you have a favorite of your stories or characters?
JoAnna: Eek! That’s tough. Avery is my girl. I relate to her more than my other characters because she’s a tough Texan! Ryse, the hero if Divine Destiny, will always be special. He was the first character that “spoke” to me and begged to have his story written. Some of my favorites are the characters that evolve the most, but are not the leading roles. Yankee, he’s grade-A jerk but he has his reasons. Hanna, she has a minute role in DD but she recently introduced herself to me and I think she is going to have a major role of her own down the line. See, I can’t pick just one.
A.C. James: Tough Texans have a soft spot in my heart too. My father lives in Conroe, right off the lake. Which authors did you read when you were younger and did they shape you as a writer?
JoAnna: I was an official member of The Babysitter’s Club. Those are the first ‘big girl’ books I remember. That’s where my love for reading and writing started. Along my teenage years I lost touch with reading, but never writing. I picked up the reading again as an adult and lived off of YA vampire books for a couple years! I hope that they have shaped my writing to mimic their styles. It would be an honor to be compared to the great paranormal authors of our day.
A.C. James: Do you manage to write every day, and do you plot your stories or just get an idea and run with it?
JoAnna: I try to write something every day. Often I have characters that will not shut up until I’ve dictated their stories. Sometimes that means working on what I’m supposed to be working on, and sometimes it’s off in left field. There is a small amount of plotting. With any series it’s necessary. However my characters have the tendency to surprise me and I love that. If the story arc allows, I run with it.
A.C. James: And do you do a lot of editing or research?
JoAnna: I researched the Greek gods for Divine Destiny. One of the things I love about fiction is that I took the things I liked and made up the rest. Woohoo. For my contemporary stuff and anything written for the real world I do check certain things out. The more I know about a setting or event in history the better the story will be.
A.C. James: What point of view do you find most to your liking: first person or third person? Have you ever tried second person?
JoAnna: Third person. If I’m having problems conveying a character’s reactions I’ll write the scene in first person just to help me get in their head. Then use that to go third person.
A.C. James: What’s your favorite / least favorite aspect of your writing life? Has anything surprised you?
JoAnna: Favorite- Those moments when characters surprise me and the pieces fall into place. Least Favorite- Synopsis. They are evil. I am surprised at how technically inept I really am! I thought I had this whole inter-web thing in the bag… not so much. LOL!
A.C. James: Are you involved in anything else writing-related other than actual writing or marketing of your writing?
JoAnna: I recently became the coordinator for The Indie Road. It’s a conference dedicated to helping authors navigate the indie/self-pub/small press road to publishing. I’ve learned a lot over the last year and it’s my passion to share that with other authors and this conference is aimed at exactly that.
A.C. James: That’s fantastic… I’m a big supporter of Indie. Are you on any forums or networking sites? If so, how valuable do you find them?
JoAnna: I’m glued to Facebook! I Tweet when I can. And I blog when I remember the dang thing. J (this goes back to that technologically inept statement). I’m on Google+, but never check it. For me, Facebook is the best way to keep up with my people and get the info out. I hear so many authors that spend hours a day updating this network and that page and blogging everything. I do what I can in the time that I have! LOL!
A.C. James: What are you working on at the moment or next?
JoAnna: I’ve just finished the first draft of the prequel novella for Divine Destiny. Editing to follow. And The Blake Pride shapeshifter series is about ready to go.
A.C. James: Tell us more about Divine Destiny and why it’s been such a big hit with your readers.
JoAnna: This story starts in the middle of turmoil! From the first page it’s chaos and it keeps going from there. Amongst all the insanity is a love so strong and powerful that not even the gods can stop it. That level of devotion is attractive to everyone.
A.C. James: Where can we find out about you and your writing?
JoAnna: Visit my website: www.authorjoannagrace.com for all you need to know. Also, please drop by on Facebook and say hi! I love meeting new people!
A.C. James: Thank you for interviewing today on my Paranormal Passion blog! Good luck with The Divine Chronicles and the Blake Pride Series; we look forward to having you back when it’s released.

The Story behind the Ever After Series
This series all started with pepperoni eaten late at night while reading a book from The Original Sinners series before bed. Being a huge Vampire Diaries fan due to reading L.J. Smith prior to the popularity of the television series, I of course fell in with Ian Somerhalder who plays the character Damon Salvator.
I just love bad boys.
Don’t we all?
And he embodies the character L.J. Smith describes in her books so perfectly.
At any rate, I had this dream that Ian Somerhalder was doing all sorts of kinky things that you’d expect from Søren in the Original Sinners series.
I blame the pepperoni.
But my husband says I just have a terribly dirty mind!
This image inspired the hero of my story—Arie. Just picture Ian Somerhalder but with smoke gray eyes.
I’ve always loved history.
My father was a substitute history teacher in between voluntarily enlisting in the military during Vietnam and becoming a police officer. He instilled in me a love for history and I’ve always thought of it as dirty, old gossip. Desperate Housewives but with hand grenades—it can’t get any more awesome than that.
The Hellfire Club history provided the perfect backdrop for a vampire series. What if the Hellfire Club never ceased to exist but simply changed names and locations over centuries of vampire ownership? What if it evolved into a BDSM sex club?
History, fairy tales, and folklore have a way of incorporating themselves into fiction, giving writing depth and inspiring new stories that have a life of their own.
Nothing is ever new or original—from borrowed music riffs to tropes that we see repeated in various books. I’d love to claim originality on this one but I really owe it to Philip Wharton, 1st Duke of Wharton and Francis Dashwood, 15th Baron le Despencer.
Both had dirtier minds than me.
(According to the gossip we call history.)
And just so you know, Cursed Ever After, the short story anthology prequel to this series is on SALE for a limited time with a FREE GIFT just for reading my book. Details are in the back of the book… I know I’m a tease like that. Happy reading to all you erotic paranormal romance readers!

ASIN: B00EMTDMFA
Number of pages: 192

Book Description:
The only thing they agree on is the sultry heat between them
Nothing’s more important to Paige Ellerbee than her struggling bakery, Sweet Bee’s. When Lane Anderson, the temporary new doctor hot enough to rival McDreamy, moves in next door, though, she’s sure things are looking up. Until he threatens her business in their first conversation.
Lane just wants to practice medicine responsibly—not argue with the flighty bakery owner next door. But when he finds himself traveling down to the Caribbean to play guitar for Paige’s best friend’s wedding, suddenly the sight of the blonde in a bikini eclipses the fact they can’t agree on anything. And as their vacation romance grows, his reservations about starting something after getting burned by love are washed away like sand on the beach.
But once Paige and Lane land back home, will these polar opposites be able to forgive their feud and find lasting love?
Excerpt
“You ready?” he asked.
“As I’ll ever be.”
They took the steps into the pool together, their feet disappearing into the black water, then their knees, up to their waists and almost to Paige’s shoulders.
“It’s warm.” She clenched her teeth as her feet sank into the muddy bottom of the pool. “And squishy.” She was surprised to see him looking as excited as a five-year old.
“I’d guess a hundred-one to a hundred-two degrees—with a high slime factor.”
“Ever said that to a patient before?”
He shook his head. “Not that I haven’t wanted to.” He grinned, flashing his dimples without a warning.
“One-hundred-and-one point six Fahrenheit,” the attendant said with a lilting island accent.
Paige imagined the woman could make a string of curses sound like a lullaby. “Your guess was pretty close,” she said to Lane.
“Pretty close? I was dead on.”
“Dead’s not a comforting word to hear from a doctor.” Paige splashed black water on his chest and watched, mesmerized, as the rivulets ran down his temptingly touchable pecs. She quickly snapped out of her daze when he dipped beneath the water, then came up with two fistfuls of mud and plopped the pitch-black slime on her shoulders. She gasped, grabbing his wrists, but not tightly enough to keep him from massaging the mud onto her skin. It happened so fast she didn’t know whether to be shocked, disgusted, or turned on. She settled for a little of each.
Lane shook the water from his hair, seeming satisfied. He looked even hotter all wet, if that was possible.
“Gross,” she said, even though she thought she might melt as his strong hands smoothed soft mud on her shoulders. She couldn’t wait for her turn to slime him.
“Medicinal properties,” he teased. “Remember?” After covering her shoulders, he swept his fingertips along her neck, taking his time and lightly swirling circles all the way up to her
earlobes. Her breath hitched. “I can almost stand it on my shoulders, but the squishing between my toes is creeping me out.”
With one swift move, he swept her off her feet and cradled her to his solid chest. Her stomach jumped into her throat. “Put me down!” She playfully flailed in his arms but he held tight.
“Do you want mud squishing between your toes or not?” His eyes glinted with mischief.
Paige realized she was a fool to keep fighting. Up-close-and-personal with his pecs was a pretty awesome place to be. She blinked the water from her eyes and looked up into Lane’s. He bent his head down and lifted her up so his face was just inches from hers.
Holy crap, he’s going to kiss me! Paige’s heart did a backflip. They’d already gone from truce to lip-lock?
“Better?” he asked, his breath warm and minty, his gaze fixed on hers.
For once, she was speechless, her pulse thrumming. After what seemed like forever, she found her voice. “A little,” she teased. “I’m still covered in mud.” Did she really want to kiss the guy who didn’t seem to care if she couldn’t make the rent on Sweet Bee’s next month? Besides, one kiss could make the rest of her time in St. Lucia really awkward. Or really incredible.
“Then maybe it’ll be a lot better,” he said softly, “if I do this.”
Paige tensed, still unsure about which way she wanted this togo. Her mind argued no while her lips screamed yes! He drew her closer for a moment…
Then unceremoniously dunked her into the water.

Flirting With Danger
By A.C. James
Today, I’m chatting with novelist Claire Baxter. If you like what you read, please investigate her books at on Amazon.
A.C. James: Hello, Claire. Please tell my blog readers a little something about yourself, where you’re based, and how you came to be a writer.
Claire Baxter: Hello, and thank you for inviting me. I’m an Australian romance writer. I started writing in 2003 when I left my job as a corporate communications manager to write a book, just to see if I could do it. After years of writing about the grim reality of sewage treatment systems and the like, I was so ready to sink my teeth into something fictional and fun. I quickly became hooked and knew I had to try for publication. I didn’t know that I was going to write romance, but every one of my early stories contained a central love story, so I did some research and – lightbulb moment! – discovered that I was a romance writer. I joined Romance Writers of Australia, learned about the market, and sold my first book in 2006.
A.C. James: I love romance—both reading it and writing it. Romance is a key ingredient in life. What genre do you generally write and what have you had published to-date? What do you think of eBooks?
Claire Baxter: Contemporary romance and romantic comedy. I’ve had several romance novels published, as well as numerous short stories. My current release is a fun category romance from Entangled’s Bliss imprint.
I love eBooks! I still buy paperbacks and hardbacks too, but I read all my romances as eBooks now, on either Kindle or Kobo.
A.C. James: I agree wholeheartedly. I love my e-reader but still love physical books. Have you self-published? If so, what lead to you to become an indie author?
Claire Baxter: It’s not an either/or choice for me. Having attended seminars by romance authors who have made a success of self-publishing while also publishing traditionally, I wanted to try my hand at self-publishing a series of romantic novellas. Two novellas in the Selwood sisters series are available so far, and it’s been fun to have control over all aspects of publishing an e-book.
A.C. James: A lot of authors find that being a hybrid author is the way to go. Do you have a favorite of your stories or characters?
Claire Baxter: My favorite story is always the most recent release because I’m most closely involved with the characters and their story at that time.
A.C. James: And which authors did you read when you were younger and how did they shape you as a writer?
Claire Baxter: My favourite book as a child was Swallows and Amazonsby Arthur Ransome. It was the first book in a series of twelve, and of course, I devoured them all, one after another. I told everyone I was going to be a writer when I grew up, but it was about 40 years before I made good on that promise.
A.C. James: Following your dreams and doing what you’re passionate about is important. I can understand and commiserate on leaving the corporate world completely. Do you manage to write every day, and do you plot your stories or just get an idea and run with it?
Claire Baxter: I write most days. I try to keep the weekends for family, but I often sneak in a bit of writing then too, especially when a book is flowing. As for plotting, it really depends on the story. My process seems to change constantly and I find it impossible to pin down. Even when I do plot, though, I don’t go into great detail, because that takes some of the fun out of the actual writing for me.
A.C. James: You’re a lot like me in that respect. I wish I could outline but I don’t. I plot but in very general terms and then just run with it. Do you do a lot of editing or research?
Claire Baxter: Again, it depends on the book. As far as research is concerned some books require very little and I’ll just make a note to check a fact or a setting detail after I’ve finished a writing session, but others need more than that. For my current release I had a long conversation with a firefighter so that I could get a really good feel for the way they spend their time at the station house, how the shifts are structured and so on. Unfortunately, the conversation was over the phone. I should have insisted on doing it in person J.
As for editing…well, yes, lots of editing in several passes. I’d love to be one of those people who can write a fast draft with no editing at all, but I’m not.
A.C. James: LOL… Yes, I would have demanded an in person interview for that as well. What point of view do you find most to your liking: first person or third person? Have you ever tried second person?
Claire Baxter: Third person is my favorite. I wrote one book in first person which was fun to do at the time, but when I read it over I didn’t like it, and I immediately re-wrote it in third person. I’ve never tried second person, and I imagine it would be tricky to write. As a reader I enjoy both first and third person point of view.
A.C. James: What’s your favorite / least favorite aspect of your writing life? Has anything surprised you?
Claire Baxter: The most surprising thing to me is my elusive process. I genuinely believed that as I wrote more books my process would become refined and consistent, but the only consistent aspect of it is that I slow down in the middle of a book, and that’s frustrating.
A.C. James: I love beginnings and endings but the middle is a… well it rhymes with witch. J Are you involved in anything else writing-related other than actual writing or marketing of your writing?
Claire Baxter: I’ve just reached the end of a two-year term as vice-president of Romance Writers of Australia. It was both interesting and time-consuming. Until I joined the committee I had no idea how much work went on behind the scenes of a writing organization such as RWAus. Never again will I complain about new initiatives because I know that an awful lot of deliberation and planning will have gone into them, and they will not be knee-jerk responses to the changing climate of the publishing industry.
A.C. James: Are you on any forums or networking sites? If so, how valuable do you find them?
Claire Baxter: Yes, lots of forums – local, national and international. And then there’s Facebook and Twitter. They’re all valuable up to a point, but when they take too much time away from writing, they start to lose their value. I recently installed the program Freedom to limit my time on the internet. Once I’ve achieved my writing goals for the day I’m allowed to visit forums and social media sites.
A.C. James: Hmmmm… I’ve never heard of that program but it sounds like a really useful tool. What are you working on at the moment / next?
Claire Baxter: Flirting With Danger is the first in a series about the Firefighters of Adelaide. I’m currently working on the second book in the series and it’s about one of the characters we met in Flirting With Danger.
A.C. James: Tell us more about Flirting With Danger and why it’s been such a big hit with your readers.
Claire Baxter: It’s the story of two firefighters who work on the same shift crew. They’re friends – Aaron even shares his dating stories with Jasmine – and she knows better than anyone that he’s incapable of commitment, so when they kiss at a wedding reception, she’s well aware that it can’t lead anywhere. Besides, she can’t risk an emotional connection with a colleague—a potentially dangerous entanglement when fighting fires together—and nothing’s more important to her than her job. But when their casual flirtation builds into something more serious, it’s not just their jobs or their safety on the line. It’s their hearts.
When I started writing about firefighters, I was focused on the job being appropriate for Jasmine because she’s a tomboy. It wasn’t until much later that I realized how popular firefighter heroes are with readers J.

Book Description:
To be together is dangerous. To stay apart is impossible.
Firefighter Jasmine Mackinnon has always just been one of the guys. So no one’s more shocked than she is to find herself kissing fellow firefighter and all-around sinfully handsome playboy Aaron Parkes after a friend’s wedding. Jasmine knows she can’t risk an emotional connection with a colleague—a potentially dangerous entanglement when fighting fires together—and nothing’s more important to her than her job.
Aaron never noticed how beautiful Jasmine was until he saw her out of her firefighter duds, but there’s something about the fiery woman that tempts him. Though he knows pursuing a real relationship is out of the question for a serial dater like him, when their casual flirtation builds into something more serious, it’s not just their jobs or their safety on the line. It’s their hearts.

Excerpt
Chapter One
Lost in the wild
Captive by circumstance…
Endangered
He had no flaw. The character hated swimming, a permissible preference, otherwise he was strong, dark, mysterious, a whiz with technology, compassionate, and smoking hot. More than all of that, she ached to save him. After years of servitude hacking U.S. GPS drone systems for the Iranian military, he’d broken away by selling Intel to the American government. Finally able to enjoy his first vacation, he was in a bus crash, then later abandoned by the other survivors.
She could save him, restore his faith in humanity, on her knees or bent over a table, which for most men would inspire just fine. She saw no limit to the possibilities in smoothing the ever-present worry lines from his brow.
Ever obsessing about the show with her friends was one thing. After it aired, they’d all bed their boyfriends, even Frank, and through squinted eyes fantasize the cock in them belonged to their television lover. Siler didn’t have that outlet, hadn’t had it for ages. The girls all thought her lack of mate some prudish nod to morality, or deep-seated insecurity. They didn’t know she’d enjoyed raucous sexual freedom in her younger years. No, she didn’t have men at her door in droves now, but not for lack of trying on their part. Her dedication to becoming a federal public defender, however thankless, and saving the unsavable eradicated any hope of a personal life.
Yes, she missed the regularity of a thorough dicking, but it had always come at a high price, one she refused to pay again. Through her twenties, casual sex had been fine, fun, even. But a thirty-year-old bar hopper was just sad, and at thirty-two, after shallow dalliances with a string of Mr. Wrongs, she’d given up.
A year and a half ago.
Being drawn into Endangered proved the perfect Prozac. Her spirits lifted. The relief of not looking for Mr. Right left her free to focus on her caseload, to connect with her clients—society’s castoffs—and try to fulfill her purpose of helping others. Sexual needs became muted, manageable with the right tools—for the most part. Occasionally her body ached for release under someone else’s touch, and in her mind he always had an olive complexion, not to mention agile fingers masterfully working her clit.
Every time, she closed her eyes, she saw Farraj. His face above hers, lips parted in a moan. His lean, hard body moving over, around, in her. His rolling, rich accent asking, “Like this?”
And why wouldn’t it be him? Fantasy gave better than the womanizing pricks her social circle presented. As a well-off single woman, no pressure urged her to find a mate, materially, or even socially. Siler could hold out for the hot love she wanted, and despite how insane, how irrational, she wanted Farraj Reza. Only one avenue presented itself to get him.

About the Author:
Erotic mezzofiction writer, Fierce is imagination shapeshifted as a scribe taunting blank pages and carpal tunnel, neither of which are much use for deadlines. Close allies are impeccable timing and a trusty masseuse. Being a switch I/ENFP doesn’t hurt. For kicks Fierce has other personas across several genres, tends to fill in “Other” on surveys without explaining, and chooses the finality of the Japanese Tamagotchi.
