Colton Lang

I've entered this novel in Inkitt's December novel contest. It's an 80's noir about a failed boxer who had a shot at the title but had it taken away by his manager. While he's become a private investigator, he's compelled by his gambler, former manager, to do deadbeat collections for him.
His latest case concerns a Mexican cleaning lady whose daughter has disappeared. In his investigation he uncovers a criminal conspiracy that threatens not only his own life, but his ex-wife and son as well.
Unanticipated alliances emerge and Colton's skill in the ring come to the fore as he is compelled to sacrifice all for the people he loves.

Welles Lang's Magic Box

I'm nearly finished with this. I'm executing what I hope will be my last round of edits.
Proofreading can be a little like weeding in the garden. No matter how many offending sprites you pull up from the roots there always appears something you've overlooked. I soldier on.
This latest round has exposed a few missed dialogues that were attributed to a different character than I'd meant. I corrected it. Then there are the numerous left out y's from the that became they. Additionally there are missing closed quotes as well as opening quote marks that I'm correcting.
I've changed several exchanges to hopefully make them more believable and finally I realized that my time line needs to be adjusted to account for the amount of time discussed.
In all this additional excursion into my novel has been necessary to make it even better than it already was, and I love this book. I'm going to publish it before December is done. I hope you'll give it a chance.
So with all this nuts and bolts stuff about craft I've been enlisting my dream time to envision a set of new characters who respond to bullying, harassing jerks with a brilliant use of technology to rescue the boy and the girl from lesser minds, thus launching them into a place of escape and challenge where they will have to use their minds and guts to find their place in this new world.

Colton Lang

This is the title of the novel I've written and posted on Inkitt. It's 55,000 words and finished. I'm now proofing it and making changes and corrections as I go.
The Inkitt challenge was to write 50,000 words in the month of November and I've accomplished that.
The blurb for Inkitt reads:
Colton Lang used to be a contender. Now he's a private eye doing occasional debt collection for his old boss. His current cases send him on a quest that will result in redemption or death.
I enjoyed writing this book as have I enjoyed each and every one I've written. One added detail is the fact that I visited an old college friend last month who is in hospice, diagnosed with stage 4 cancer. I've included a character based on my friend and gave him more vitality and vigor than I observed when visiting. I added a dedication to him on a novel I'm close to publishing on Amazon. This one is close to my heart as I feel as though my visit was to say goodbye to a dear friend.
None of knows how much time we have. My dear friend's days have a more predictable end. I just wish he could rise from his bed and do what I had him do in my novel. Vaya con Dios, Reggie.

Unholy Gathering

This book is available on Amazon in both paperback and Kindle. It doesn't show up on my page here and I don't know why. If you search the title you will find it. I even uploaded the title twice and both titles are there but not on my author page. Just a little frustration with Goodreads. I think it's under Mr. Randall Moore.
Oh, well.

Boise Eclipse

While in Boise, Idaho recently to view the total eclipse of the Sun, a couple of ideas came to mind that will become a novel. It seems that law enforcement employed the bulk of their forces to traffic control. The kernel of an idea was formed: how would opportunistic criminals respond to such a public disclosure? My thought is that they would take advantage of the lack of law enforcement to commit crimes they might otherwise have never considered.
I'm going to write a heist novel once I've completed my latest edit of Welles Lang's Magic Box, which I must say I'm enjoying immensely.

American Jihad

Recently finished the first draft of what I think hasn't been written about before and that's home-grown terrorism committed by people from the heartland whose only connection to Islam is their own conversion.
While running scenarios over and over in my mind I eventually abandoned my idea of never writing it, not wanting to give the bad guys ideas.
Well, I got past that and wrote the novel. My main character becomes radicalized while serving in Iraq, converts, learns Arabic and returns to the United States where he connects with like-minded veterans to launch operations against the American homeland.
He remains in contact with connections he made in Iraq as he supervises terrible attacks against his country.

Untitled Novel

I'm currently working on the first draft of a novel about a traveling male nurse. William Moreau rides a Harley from town to town, carries a .45 just in case, helping in hospital ICUs. Despite a secret that haunts him from his past he carries on providing compassionate care for all the patients that need his care until a mysterious person or persons are revealed to harbor homicidal intentions for him and all those he truly cares about.

Untitled SciFi Horror

All of Hollywood's actors and actresses are dying for a part in the genius auteur, Welles Lang's next picture. Little do they know that they'll get their wish.

A totally insane tale that bends reality with the impossible. An unanticipated hero emerges from within the future of entertainment.

This book was interesting in that I reviewed and corrected the previous day's writing before starting on the next. I caught a lot of errors and made a lot of changes that way.

It still amazes me how ma
