The Mystery of the Missing Honey Comb
A few weeks ago we were house-hunting when we came across a local beekeeper. I purchased a honey bear with a honeycomb piece inside. Local honey is supposed to help with allergies, I knew my kids would dig the honeycomb chunk, and it was a GREAT way to meet a potential neighbor and ask nosy questions about the house in question, and the area overall.
We didn’t end up buying that house, but the honey has been most excellent. The boys each enjoyed breaking off a chunk of the comb and chewing it like gum.
They enjoyed it SO much, one of them absconded with the honeycomb, last week or the week before. The change was quite noticeable as the comb chunk made up approximately 2/3 the volume of the bear-shaped squeeze bottle.
I assumed it was my youngest son, since he was the one who asked me repeatedly for the comb. It would have been out of character, but I just assumed. This morning he and I were making guacamole at his request, when I reached for the honey bear to ask him how the comb was.
He shrugged. ”I don’t know. I only had that one piece.”
"Really? I thought you took the rest of it."
"It wasn’t me."
His oldest brother entered the room at that juncture. ”Sam,” I asked, “Did you take the rest of the honeycomb?”

Naturally I assumed I’d found the guilty party, after all!
My middle son then calmly strolled through the room. My oldest came back upstairs and very angrily chastised me for blaming him for the missing honeycomb. Mind you, the whole time I’m like
so I ask my middle son if he ate the honeycomb.
Using his fingers, he showed me about an inch of air measurement. ”Yeah, Sean had about this much, and Sam had some, so I took the rest.”
Oldest boy was all
This is a completely true story. This happened just today. So much drama. For now we have peace, but what’ll be next?

I might have to cut back on coffee now that I’ve started a new prescription for my thyroid. A nice cup of tea might be just the ticket in the mornings! Or a nice cup of nature. Whatever you’ve got.

Moving
Planning for the move, going through all the “to dos” and all I can think about is how IN LOVE WITH MY HUSBAND I AM. So excited about life. Moving is a big deal, fer sher…and I know it won’t be without its stresses and challenges, but it’ll all be worth it because we’ll be doing it together! Feel so happy!

school
Argh. Sitting here filling out school transfer forms to get the kids enrolled in their new schools ASAP.
Was hoping to have a fun day with them, but one kid decided he needed heavy-duty discipline because he would not discipline himself.
GROWING UP IS HARD.
I sincerely hope he is better behaved for his teachers than he is for me.
I want our togetherness to be happy for everyone. Not discipline time for some or all kids. So ready to try a new school routine for them
