More Tomato Cover Options

Oy...running around working out logistics for the Kickstarter. But first I need to get this cover finalized.  The differences between B, C, & D are subtle but present. All thoughts are welcome on the typography.

Cover options, Chapter 11 (the good kind), and Indiegogo Update

First off, the Indiegogo campaign for
Second, Chapter 11 of The Hidden Prince is up for your reading pleasure.

Third, we're in the prep stage for The Tomato Anthology kickstarter. So we're gathering information from our contributors, working out logistics, and trying to finalize the cover design. On this last endeavor, your feedback would be appreciated.

We like our art, the main concern for me is getting the title right. With modern book covers, it's important they look good both at full size and at thumbnail size.

If you would, for each line, say which out of the two covers appeals to you most, then say which you like best of all, and finally feel free to leave any note elaborating on why you prefer one to the other.

Chapter 10 and The Girl With No Name Paperback

I spent 8 to 12 hours most days staring at a computer screen, so I'm very happy to be getting The Girl With No Name out in paperback format. We have an Indiegogo campaign going to help cover the expenses that come with a new format.
I also got Chapter 10 of The Hidden Prince up today.

Last week I got tied up with making selections for The Tomato Anthology. I started to do a write up about that experience yesterday, but it was one of those days where the words were technically correct but not quite right. So I decided to step away and come back to it.

I did a small amount of design work. I've added a "Junior Gremlin" design in honor of Palmer's new arrival on NCIS.

Chapter 9 of The Hidden Prince

New Chapter up. No major news, still waiting on things so other things can happen.

The Tomato Anthology has closed submissions, so I've been reading over those stories and poems. Would have made more progress with selection, but my co-editor got sick.

The Hidden Prince Chapter 8

New chapter of The Hidden Prince is up on time for a change.  Click to read Chapter 8.

I have a new #HashtagSpoilers PPL design on Cafepress, but it was more to get me back in the mode of doing design work than anything. Very basic typography, but one of my sticking points with watching Pretty Little Liars the last couple seasons is every time something remotely interesting is about to happen, a hashtag pops up in the corner of the screen. Sometimes they're cute, and I can respect they're going for fan interaction... but sometimes they're really spoiler-ish. I'd rather watch the show and chat after.

The cover artist for the new The Girl With No Name cover has finished his work. Plan is to launch an Indiegogo campaign this next week to help pay for a print run. At the very least I want some copies for conventions and book fairs, but if Amoeba Ink can raise enough for an Offset run of the book (2000+ copies) then it'll drop the cover price for everyone.  Doing Indiegogo instead of Kickstarter this time, because it's less of an all or nothing project.

Chapter 7

Chapter 7 of The Hidden Prince is now available.

I've revived my budgeting blog The Minimum Wager which is aimed at low income singles.

Submissions for The Tomato Anthology have been coming faster as we approach the deadline. We are particularly interested in genre stories and creative tomato roles. We've gotten a few genre stories which were highly creative over all, but they still keep the tomato trapped in food and gardening roles. Nothing wrong with those roles, but we have LOTs of gardening stories and eating tomato poems. Would love to see some more out of the box uses for the tomato. ...and AZTECS! Please! AZTEC stories.

Seventh Night Giveaway, Tomatoes, & New Chapter of The Hidden Prince

Seventh-Night-Banner

Giveaway, Author Interview, and Book Review of Seventh Night all available right now at Kookie Krysp Reads (review is a tad spoiler-ish, be warned). We're giving away 7 ebook copies to help kick off 2015. This will likely be the only ebook giveaway for Seventh Night this year. (May do promos for other books, but those will be announced later.)

---------------

I'm looking forward to playing an editorial role in the upcoming Tomato Anthology. The cover art is coming along nicely. Two weeks left for submissions. We're open to all genres but would really love some sci-fi, fantasy, mystery, and historical (think Aztecs or first European contact). Read the rules and submit here: http://www.amoebaink.com/theTomatoAnthology.htm (Deadline Feb. 1st!)

--------------

Chapter 6 of The Hidden Prince has been posted.  I'm trying to stay a few chapters ahead, but Kaleb has trouble keeing his timeline straight.

Chapter 5 of The Hidden Prince

This week I'm enjoying the delights of paperwork and tax forms, but I managed to get Chapter 5 of The Hidden Prince posted.

Happy New Year! No Chapter this week.

Seventh Night Book stack Totally overwhelmed today. Won't go into it, but there is also end of the year/beginning of the year paperwork to do. So no chapter this week. It's written. I just like to do editing rounds before posting.

I think Seventh Night is stuck in Good Review hell on Amazon. I have a better mix of ratings over on Goodreads. But people don't seem to take a book as seriously when it's all 4 and 5 star reviews. (Weird thing to worry about, but I commiserated with a fellow author about this problem a couple weeks back.)

I'm forever grateful to everyone who has bought and/or reviewed my novel. But please don't hold back if you have some criticisms. I'm not holding out for universal approval, but even a negative review is helpful to an author as long as it's honest.

Swamp Dragon and Chapter 4

SwampDragonSmallHope everyone had a happy Christmas.  I finished my Swamp Dragon digital painting earlier this week.  You can see a larger version on Devianart Art, and I've applied it to some items on Zazzle.

And Chapter 4 of The Hidden Prince is up.
