Make out with Murder by Lawrence Block

The story was enjoyable. I'm still not sure if it was a satire on the Nero Wolf mysteries or if Lawrence Block was paying homage to the fat genius. Either way, it was entertaining. I loved the way all the suspects were gathered in a room for grand finale - pure nostalgia. Although it's not one of his best works, Make our with Murder is certainly worth a read..

W is for Wasted

When I pick up a Sue Grafton book, I'm almost certain I'll go on another enjoyable adventure with Kinsey Millhone. I've never been disappointed. The stories are set in the days before cell phones and the internet - simpler times. But were they really? The crimes and tragedies were just as real and heartbreaking as they are today.

TAKEDOWN TWENTY

Like the other 19 books in the series, Takedown Twenty was fun and enjoyable. It's light reading that leaves the reader with a smile on their face. This book is perfect for a winter's night with a cup of cocoa or, as Stephanie Plum would prefer, a bottle of beer.

DRESS YOUR FAMILY IN CORDUROY AND DENIM

Dress Your Family in Corduroy and Denim Dress Your Family in Corduroy and Denim by David Sedaris

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

David Sedaris is witty and always entertaining. This book was no exception. Unfortunately, I judged this collection of essays against his previous works and came away feeling that there was a thread of sadness running through it. It still was worth the read and certainly was amusing.

NINE LIVES BY TERRY TYLER

She's done it again! Terry Tyler knows how to entertain the reader while presenting her story. In this case it is nine short stories. Each has a message carefully wrapped in delightful prose. And just when you think you know how a story will end, she pulls the rug out with another surprise. Great job!

NEVER GO BACK BY LEE CHILD

Love Jack Reacher and enjoy Lee Child's writing, but the premise of this story stretched the limits of what is believable. Was this the "jumping the shark" point in the series?

Secret of the Crystal II - The Forge by: Brian_K_Larson

Excellent story! It was beyond fast paced - at times I felt like I was in the middle of a video game. Jhahnakkan must unlock the secrets in his mind to save his people. This epic adventure for the Crystal Forge leaves the reader breathless. My only problem was with some typo/editing glitches which distract from the flow.

TEA PARTY TEDDY - A REVIEW

This biting political satire shines a not so flattering light on politics in Sacramento and everywhere else in the US. Has Teddy become another bought and sold politician? Will Nina continue to stand by this empty shell of a politician? This well-written, easy to read novel answers all those questions.Tea Party Teddy

One Day in Budapenst

This story was compelling from the first page with a weave of politics, religion, history and a warning about the future. J.F. Penn is a well-informed master who keeps the reader involved from the death of a priest and a stolen artifact through the non-stop action. She is a master and the novella is a work of art.(less)

GRAY GHOST BY C.L. SWINNEY

Two narcotics detectives are on a fly fishing vacation in the Bahamas when their fishing guides are killed and their speed boat ends up in the bottom of the ocean. The locals convince the detectives that there's a hundred million dollars in cocaine aboard the sunken boat. An action packed, fast-paced story follows and doesn't stop for a minute. One thing apparent throughout the story is that the author knows his stuff. He's talked the talk and walked the walk. No amount of imagination can beat experience, and it's obvious he has plenty. I just finished the book and already loaned to a good friend with my highest recommendation.
