Empty Your Heart is FREE TODAY!

And make room for me
I'd fight hordes and armies
Cross deserts and black seas
Become a slave to your will
With no will to be free
I'd like to haunt your dreams
While I sparkle and gleam
Wedge into your subconscious
Sprinkle love dust
And liquid lust
I'd wiggle in
Find a slot in your memory
For all I want
Is for you...
To remember me
Thirty poems of love, loss, and yearning. Empty your heart...
Today Empty Your Heart is FREE until January 13th!

Rainy Saturdays
Tis a glorious thing to wake up to the sound of gentle rain. You open your eyes and stretch out as the melodic sounds of crystalline water pattering against your window bid you good morning. Today I experience this glorious treat.
With it comes unbridled creativity and grandiose ideas for what I can do with my day!
Being a writer calls for balance. Sure, staying in bed and watching TV with a cup of hot English breakfast tea sounds absolutely divine.
Alas...I have a manuscript to finish!
Let's return to this idea of balance. Of course to be a writer, one must write. But one mustn't neglect other areas of life. My 2014 New Year's resolution was to find balance in all areas of my life.
That means I will spend more time with my cute little doggie, Raven.
Spread out my travels throughout the year.
Make more time for friends.
Family.
And relationships.
Get back into a fitness routine. A writer must stay fit!
Interviewing fellow authors!

Whew! That was A LOT!!!!
And of course, sit down at my desk EVERYDAY and hit my word or time limit quota.
Ah, yes, balance makes for a happy life and creative writer.
Oh wait!! I almost forgot. I can't neglect my vampire slaying duties...

Enjoy the Ride!

Every time I sit down in my writing den I am reminded that no matter how much planning I did beforehand, my characters will always surprise me with their own ideas and actions.

So, I suppose there is only one thing to do, use that old outline as a guide, but enjoy the ride as my characters lead the way to the finish line!
Warning: this might cause unexpected deaths to key characters...or romantic interests you didn't quite anticipate.
Good luck out there, writerly folk!

Wake Up- a poem
Wake Up
K.N. Lee
The winter chillAnd a bitter breezeCannot hold backSuch fiends as theseThey hide in silenceBeneath your bedCrouching over your sleeping bodyWhispering"Wake up, sleepy head,"They wait And waitFor the lights to dimSo that you cannot See their faces so grimTeeth dripping with acidCinges the blankets your clutchTheir hands are leatheryAnd cold to the touch You toss and turnDream and screamAs they sing this songEvery Hallows Eve "Wake upSleepy headCome and playWe must be fed"

A Wanderer- Poem

A wanderer Cloaked in blackHead high against the snowAnd won't look backSilver strands Of hair float freeSparkling eyes Of emerald greenShe faces death With tears in her eyesFalls to her kneesScrapping snow and iceWith a baby in her armsShe kisses it's cheekLet's out a tortured sighAnd whispers goodbye

Antagonize **Cover Reveal**
Antagonize From The Logs of Daniel Quinn Thomas R. Manning
Two worlds are at war, their destruction close to reality. Only one man can stop the bloodshed, but only if he survives the deadly game he’s been forced to play with a ruthless mercenary. Captain Daniel Quinn returns in Antagonize: From the Logs of Daniel Quinn by Thomas R. Manning.
Welcome to the official cover reveal and release announcement of Antagonize! Last June, Thomas made his debut in the literary world with the first Daniel Quinn novel, Energize! Since that time, there have been some amazing reviews of the book, calling it “electric, sorrowful, inventive, astonishing, and ultimately totally unpredictable and original”, and “superb and leaves you waiting to find out what other adventures are in store”.
Thomas is hard at work making sure that Antagonize rises above its predecessor in every way, and that includes the cover art! Without further delay, here is the cover of Antagonize, designed by the talented Megan Kennedy!

The planets Terra and Gaia have been at war for generations. Now in a last ditch effort, a council is formed to usher in an era of peace. But when members are ruthlessly killed, lines are drawn, sides grow hostile, and mutual destruction seems inevitable.
Far away on a desolate planet, Captain Daniel Quinn of the Kestrel Belle is summoned in the hopes that he can help stop the bloodshed. With armies of soldiers around every corner and a deadly mercenary determined to stop him, Daniel is the only man who can help unite the two worlds.
It's a war that he didn't start, but one he will have to stop in order to save lives, including his own.
Thomas has also confirmed the release date for Antagonize: From the Logs of Daniel Quinn.
March 29th 2014!!! Available on Kindle, Nook, Smashwords, and more!

Lyrinian Blade Photo Shoot
This weekend was like Christmas all over again. What an amazing gift to have your vision brought to life! Lyrinian Blade has seen its share of trials. The publication date was pushed back due to my carpal tunnel issues.
Not only that, but the manuscript just didn't seem ready to me. I am a perfectionist in some aspects and I wanted the plot, characters, and dialogue to be perfect this time around. The pressure to produce is intense to say the least, but I think I owe it to my readers to give them something that I am proud of. And guess what...the manuscript is ready! And we are set for publication this January 31st, 2014!
Woohoo!
But wait!
Something is missing!
The cover.
Oh yes. I nearly forgot. Who am I kidding? I never forgot. I've been obsessing over this cover for months. I couldn't find the right model, artist, photo...until, I met Biqi Shi. Something about her eyes captured my interest and I took the leap to ask her to be my model for the Lyrinian Blade cover. To my surprise, she was thrilled, honored, excited to do this for me. Biqi Shi is a physician's assistant, and now...she is Koa Ryeo-won as well! How many PA's do you know that can say they are on the cover of book? I know one that can.
Check out the exclusive behind-the-scenes photos from our amazing photo shoot! Stay tuned for the cover reveal in a few days!

The Mystic's Song- Writing Prompt

It was a dare, but you never back down from a good dare. When your friends told you to go into that tent at the fair, you never expected to enter another one. A world of mystery, perfumed air, and a smoke-filled crystal ball. The woman knew your name. She told you to sit in the velvet chair. What did she tell you about your future? Or, did she have a quest for you?
