Nightfall Gardens, Elyuum and looking forward in 2015
It’s that time of year in New York City when black ice (and other substances) freeze to the sidewalks and the wind cuts down your back no matter which direction you go.
As we look forward to the spring (lingering way off over the dark horizon … but I can dream) I thought I’d take a second to thank the readers of “Nightfall Gardens” and talk a little about some upcoming projects.

"The Labyrinth" is now available!
The epic conclusion to the "Nightfall Gardens" trilogy is now available. The perfect fall read for fantasy (and horror), YA lovers. http://amzn.to/1wZ9zOs
"Time is running out for Lily and Silas Blackwood in their hunt to destroy Pandora’s Box before the beings of Nightfall Gardens unleash its evil upon an unsuspecting world.
Loyalties will be tested and friends will make the ultimate sacrifice as the two face off against an army of horrors that live in the Gardens.
At the center of it all stands the Labyrinth, a maze haunted by dying gods and startling secrets that Lily must navigate to find Pandora’s Box. But will she be too late?"

"The Labyrinth" cover reveal
This week I posted the final cover for "The Labyrinth" the last book in the "Nightfall Gardens" trilogy on my site. The artwork by Anthony Roberts is superb. I'm really pleased with how all of the covers have turned out. Stay tuned for details on how to pre-order the book and check out "Nightfall Gardens" and "The Shadow Garden" if you've haven't had a chance yet.

"Nightfall Gardens" character contest deadline
There’s still time for you to become a character in “The Labyrinth”, the final book in the “Nightfall Gardens” trilogy. Encourage your friends to like my Facebook author page. The person who gets the most likes, will see their name (first, last or both) in print as a minor character when “The Labyrinth” comes on out Oct. 15. I’ve been super-psyched about the number of people who have taken part so far. Thank you! Deadline is Sept. 16!

Want to be a character in Nightfall Gardens?
Ever wanted to be a character in a book? Specifically, ever wanted to be a character in “Nightfall Gardens?” – A noble dusk rider, a horrific creature from the depths of hell or perhaps a poor human trapped in that nightmarish landscape. Well, now you can be. With “The Labyrinth” only 58 days from publication (breaths deeply into a paper bag) I’m kicking off a competition to name a new character after one of my loyal readers.
Here’s all you have to do to read about yourself in the pages of “The Labyrinth.” Share my author’s page (www.facebook.com/allenhoustonauthor) with your FB friends and encourage them to like my page. At the end of the contest, I’ll choose a winner from the person with the most friends to give my page the thumbs up. After that you’ll find your name (first, last or both) magically appear in the new book.
The deadline for the competition is on Sept. 16 and after that I’ll announce the winner here.
Hope to see you under the red moon in “Nightfall Gardens.”

Update on last book in "Nightfall Garden" series
I haven’t written an update on “The Labyrinth” in a while. I’m moving the publication date back to come out two weeks before Halloween (good timing). This isn’t because I haven’t been writing.
Like all novels, this one has taken on a life of its own. In order for me to do justice to the story and give my characters the respect they deserve, I’m taking a couple of extra months to make sure everything is perfect (or as perfect as can be). In other words, I want to wrap up “Nightfall Gardens” in style.
I can tell you that I’ve really let my imagination run wild in this book and that unlike “Lost” I plan on wrapping up all of the mysteries that still linger from the first two books in the trilogy. It’s also going to be much more mammoth than “Nightfall Gardens or “The Shadow Garden.”
The cover is currently in the can (as they say). Tony Roberts really knocked himself out continuing in the vein of the first two books with a stellar creepy cover. I’ll unveil that down the road as the publication date draws near.
Also, there will be some cool contests I’ll be announcing here soon as well as a big “Nightfall Gardens” party that’ll take place in NYC in the fall. I’m open to hitting the road for a couple of reading stops after the book comes out, so email me if you have any suggestions.
Thanks for your patience. I promise it’ll be worth your wait, and if you haven’t told your friends about NG, please share the word. Thanks!
