Why do we make things so complicated?

I've been trying to figure out how to start my own blog/website and have failed. Oh, how the internet confuses a simple mind like mine. I am extremely grateful for the information I can find, but to actually make use of it for my own personal goals is beyond me. So, I thought, why am I making this so complicated? I'm an author on this website and I should make use of the blog they offer here. It's not like I have a ton to say or am putting out weekly shorts or anything. I just wanted a place to post about up coming books I'm writing or ideas that I'd like to turn into a book. I wanted to be accessible to my readers without them having to email me. So...here I go!
