Online dating

It's so funny to hear my co-workers talking about all the apps and websites they are on to meet people. It blows my mind. What happened to meeting others in person? After the fact all these dates turn into hook ups. It's almost a fairy tale when you hear someone's car ran out of oil or something and a really nice person comes along to help out and bada bing they're dating. It's now a romance novel plot line, right? But that's real life, at least ten years ago. Haha. Now I feel super old. I can't even imagine meeting a person online and then hoping for good sex and maybe a second date. Well here's to many more simple, heart warming story lines I plan to write!

I'm being lazy...

My to do list is growing. I was really hoping to get my next book out by the end of summer. However, I don't think that is going to happen. It's already outlined but I can't seem to focus. There are bits and pieces of other stories floating around in my head and I can't hear the characters clearly enough to sit down and write out the story they deserve. It's important to me for my people to have personalities and not just be a name to follow through the story.

Moving on...

Alright...honestly a little disappointed with the poor reception of Hazards. I'm still proud of that book but now I need to move onto other stories. I outlined Julian's story yesterday. Julian was mentioned in both Flamingos and Possum.

I'm wanting to write two short stories about the other guys from trivia in a Hazards, but both of them will most likely be dark and unpleasant for most.

We'll just have to see where the characters lead...

Free frenzy

Over 1500 copies downloaded of my Christmas stories this weekend for the free promotion on amazon. It's really exciting to be getting that much exposure. I hope readers enjoyed them and will continue to follow my other stories!

My mom' s thoughts

I was surprised when my mom read it and said how surprised she was at how different Hazards was from my other books. She felt like this one was real and kinda of gritty and my other stories were more fairy tale like. I know this one is more serious, but I thought it still had fun and sweet character moments. Hmmm...I guess I will just have to wait and see what reviews come in.

Yay! It's published.

I'm so excited. Hazards of Stagnation is live on Amazon. I'm very proud of this story and hope it's well received. It feels like my first book all over again.

ughh..editing

I think it's funny that three people can help me edit, including myself, and still miss so many obvious errors. I have no idea how professional editors do it. They must be robots, yup, that's it.

Anyway, with some luck and a bowl of lucky charms for breakfast, I'll finish this edit by tomorrow evening. I'm considering doing one more, but I don't think I have the heart to.

So close...

I've got one more read through to complete before I publish 'Hazards of Stagnation' and I'm totally being lazy about it. My mind is already on other projects and I've got no focus to finish this read.
Grrrr... It's funny how much time I spend fighting myself when if I'd just buckle down I'd be done by now. Oh well... Hopefully it'll be out by this weekend ;)

It's being published...

I just finished uploading 'Christmas Ham Sandwich' to Amazon. It should be ready by tonight! I'm always very nervous and excited during the first week. I couldn't offer it for less than 99 cents, but once the first 30 days are up, I'll 'special' it for free. It's only 8K words. I was going to include the short story that's posted on this website 'Passing Notes,' but there's a clause with Kindle publishing that I can't publish anything that is published on any other site...so even though I couldn't add any perks to purchasing this short story, it can be borrowed for free for Amazon Prime members.

Wrote a short, now what?

I wrote 'Christmas Ham Sandwich' last year. It's about 8,000 words and a cute little story. It's not my best writing but I don't really want to rewrite it because I'm planning on expanding it into a full book. However, the short is told mostly from one character's POV and the book will be mostly from the other MC's POV (and be a bit darker). So, the entire feel of the story will change with the expansion.
Now I'm torn with what to do with the short. Any opinions?
