Actor/Director Michael Norris, son of martial arts expert Chuck Norris to visit ATS LIVE!

“When you’re in Texas look behind you…for that’s where the Ranger’s gonna be…” Oh, yeah! I joined my husband and my kids in singing along to that TV theme songmany a Saturday night, back in the day.

I’m excited about having Chuck Norris’ son with me on air today and not just because I’m a Chuck Norris fan (although I am) but Michael Norris’ newly released DVD is right up our alley here at All Things Southern. I Am Gabriel is the moving and mysterious film about divine intervention in our daily...

What I heard

And Jesus said, “Let not your heart be troubled. You believe in God? Believe also in me.”

And I hear: We can not wrap our minds around God and our faith suffers for it unless we learn to wrap our reaching hearts around Jesus, the hope of glory! Believing in God way up there doesn’t comfort the troubled heart. Believing He sent his only begotten Son out of His great love for us, to redeem us, to walk with us in this hard world and bring us home. This comforts. This encourages us. This strengthe...

Tomorrow is the big day! Before us is a great opportunity to partner with one another to raise awareness about human trafficking and join together to raise funds towards their rescue through Kimberly L. Smith’s foundation, Make Way Partners. And yet, even as we are set to launch, one-fourth of our population has been impacted by Super storm Sandy and many areas remain in distress. Far too many people have se...

I do these things so y’all want have to…

I woke up this morning craving hot chocolate. Were there any prepared mixes in the pantry? Of course not.

Did I run to the grocery store? Of course not. I wanted needed to be writing! Besides, there’s a reason my kids call me the queen of substitution.

I scanneda number of recipes, took an idea from this one and an idea from that one, based on what ingredients I had on hand. I began playing with the ingredients, tasting, adding, and tasting again until — VOILA! I’m sitting here enjoying the mos...

Weekend Warriors

OH, the fun we had this pastweekend when the Houston baby czars joined the Louisianaczars! Four little ones under four creates the most wonderful chaos.

I painted the bottom of the walls with chalkboard paint, put colorful vinyl stickers at the top, and loaded it up with their toys. To call it a hi...
