What is your most joyful moment so far this year? I know it’s been a bastard of a 2020, but what joy do you treasure? Looking forward to sharing my favorite responses.

.

This belongs to me,

but I promise I will share.

There’s enough joy here.

Typewriter Series #3015 by Tyler Knott GregsonNever could speak...

Typewriter Series #3015 by Tyler Knott Gregson

Never could speak it aloud,
never could say I
was artist,
was something worth memory
or celebration.

Call myself observer,
historian, a savior of moments
before they vanish forever.
Call myself simple, overwhelmed
by what they create.
Call myself hopeful,
and I wonder if I will be
remembered.

I am the ghost behind the frame,
the haunt after the click.
I ask myself if I will fade
when they fade,
disappear like old film,
like phantom into mist.

Shh, you say,
whispered like promise,
you are the light
that illuminates all the rest,
shh, you say,
what shines can never be
forgotten.

Return to this love

and it will still feel like home,

a place you once knew.

Where, of all the places you have wandered, feels most like home? And who, of all you’ve wandered with, feels the same?

Where will we wander,

what corners of this planet,

what sides of this world.

What could you do to be more kind? What could you shift to send out more love? Best answers gets a share.

.

We gotta send it out

like waves,

I said,

throw it out until

ours is around

theirs, and they feel

our grace.

.

You will know,

when they know.

.

On fingertip

a housefly sat

cleaning her legs

and staring safely up

with slow motion

eyes.
