Typewriter Series #3015 by Tyler Knott Gregson

Never could speak it aloud,
never could say I
was artist,
was something worth memory
or celebration.

Call myself observer,
historian, a savior of moments
before they vanish forever.
Call myself simple, overwhelmed
by what they create.
Call myself hopeful,
and I wonder if I will be
remembered.

I am the ghost behind the frame,
the haunt after the click.
I ask myself if I will fade
when they fade,
disappear like old film,
like phantom into mist.

Shh, you say,
whispered like promise,
you are the light
that illuminates all the rest,
shh, you say,
what shines can never be
forgotten.
