Typewriter Series #2632 by Tyler Knott Gregson

Isn’t it a little grand to imagine that somewhere
there is someone to love everyone else?
Love for everyone, once said,
skeptical and doubting, imploring
to see the other side.

Oddly, no, I replied and said why.
It’s the only thing that makes any sense
at all.  The only thing to explain
anything on this mess of a planet.
So many people, so many combinations,
so many possibilities,
seems more improbable that there
is not
someone we can love.

Reduced to mathematics
romantic grandeur falls away
and is replaced with logic:

we are here to love,
only the timeline of things
convinces us
otherwise.

Proud
of my heritage. Proud to be Scottish. Proud to be clan McGregor who
fought against their own persecution, became the Children of the Mist,
and flourished despite it. Proud.

Typewriter Series #2631 by Tyler Knott Gregson

Survived another winter,
didn’t we?  Made it through
and there are pieces
still thawing.
How many times did we call it
too much, did we say
we would break?

Done it now, more than a few
times, gone through
the freeze and came out
shining and pale
on the other side.

I remember asking, before
all things rose to a
crescendo,
I remember your eyes
when I finally said

Summer love is easy love,
but will you hold me
in the cold?

Sometimes I wonder about that world, the reflected realm, wonder who I am there, what things I did better. What things I did right. Puddle jumps in hopes of finding out.

This links to that
and it to another this.
Down the line those are
hooked to these,
them to they, and they
to the rest of us.
We to she and she to
he and he to you and
later, you to I.

All things connected,
thread or ribbon,
floss thin or thick as
scarves.  One pull,
firm enough,
and every single
one of them
will quiver.
