I have never lectured to brilliant minds,

never received the professional credentials

to elevate these words into Art,

capital A for my words are posted

for the masses, after all.


Does the format of sharing

inherently cheapen what is shared,

do thousands of eyes on words

spread their worth out,

thin it to the point of nonexistence?

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

I did not study what they studied,

did not find my way into the arms

of a boutique press, have won

no awards and have no plans on

winning them in the future,

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

but

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

I will be damned if these words are not

true words, if they do not come from

the exact same place the others come from,

high above my own.

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

Add a prefix to what I do if you wish,

if it settles your spirit, if it justifies

my exclusion. I will write, and I will write

and I will write.
