Who are you, to the world? Where do you stand? Who will be the person you re-introduce when the world opens, when we can see one another again? Write your own story, begin it again.
.
Roll the windows down
and scream out into the world.
Introduce yourself.

Nothing is more tragically underappreciated, more historically...

Nothing is more tragically underappreciated, more historically ignored, more woefully disrespected, than today. We mourn the passing of yesterday, we focus entirely on the coming tomorrow. All along the way, today is lost.
.
So much time we waste,
waiting for a tomorrow.
Just give me today.

Is there a better (but often more painful) way to go through...

Is there a better (but often more painful) way to go through this life of ours, than to be wide open to everything it throws at you? I understand the vulnerability in this viewpoint, I know how much it can leave you susceptible to getting hurt, maybe over and again, but I truly believe the is the way forward. Part of my aforementioned ASD, is being perforated and extremely sensitive to everything the world offers. I feel EVERYTHING, but what’s more, I absorb so much too. The rises and falls of each day seep in through all these tiny cracks in me, and before I understand what’s happened, it’s ¾ through a day and I’m 500% heavier than I was when I woke. The challenge in all this, is I don’t notice until I’m there, 500% heftier and dragging myself, worn out without knowing why.
.
Here’s the rub…I wouldn’t change a thing. Going through life this way, open to all that it throws, absorbing the highs and the lows, it’s what is responsible for every piece of art I have ever created. Being full and spilling over with the beauty of this place, the pain of it as well, has been the catalyst for the creation that keeps me going.
.
My question to you is this: Are you one of these people? Do you feel it all, absorb most of it, and are you wide open to the world? If so, how do you cope with it, how do you stay balanced?
.
Feeler of all things,
and absorber of many.
I am wide open.

Viking born, Scottish, Irish, and on the Spectrum. This is me, a hell of a lot of passion, a hell of a lot of joy. Poetry in the spaces between.

I’m made of passion,

sometimes it looks of anger,

sometimes looks of joy.

Strange, horrible, strife filled times right now. Pandemic is worse than it has ever been, unrest in a million ways politically, a divide spreading and deepening in worrying ways. All this, and it highlights so exquisitely, how much we need to take care of one another. To ask, to listen, to lift up, to hold. We must reach out and take care, to offer tenderness, to offer love. We’re all we’ve got, folks, just us on this spaceship earth. It’s time we rally together, it’s time we grow.

.

Whatever happens,

know that I love you fiercely.

All this is for you.

There are moments in this life, in this brief blip of existence,...

There are moments in this life, in this brief blip of existence, that stand above all the others, that rearrange what you thought of as beautiful, that define it right then and there. As I look back over my own blip of life, there are some that immediately stand out, that rise to the surface like sea foam on some stormy ocean, but to be quite frank, one keeps rising even above that. One, is the lightning strike above that sea foam, the bolt of electricity and shock that connected me (once again, long story) to everything bigger than myself. I remember it, without any photographs necessary but damn it’s nice having them, as clearly today as the day it happened, I remember the smell, the sight, the temperature of the air. I remember the sound of water under that old bridge, I remember the way the dirt rustled under her boots. I remember the quiet sashay of emerald fabric, I remember the bagpiper warming up far in the distance. I remember turning, facing the light she’s always been, and truly falling into awe for the deepest and most true point in my life. Everything else, from the moment I turned, fell away. Everything else faded, all sound, all life, it was her, and it was me, and it was slow-motion in such a perfect and painful way..

.

You across the bridge,

me standing in perfect awe.

There was nothing else.
